Im not a thriller girlie, but I felt so invested in this!
It did have a slow start but I feel like it really got where it needed to be by the end!
Between a 3.75 and a 4

Wow, this book made me glad I'm not in the dating pool!! Scary how good someone could seem to be and be so manipulative. This book definitely took the main, male character to a whole new level. A little slow to start but by the end I was very invested. Overall a good psychological thriller.

You can read this fast-paced thriller when it comes out June 24, 2025!

I am so excited I was able to get my hands on an ARC copy of Lisa Jewell's new release. I found her after reading "None of this is true" and have been reading all of her past books and I am happy to read her newest book. "Don't Let Him In" follows 3 different women, a mom and daughter who recently lost their spouse/dad, and a woman named Martha, whose husband is gone from home almost all the time. What is their connection? You'll have to read to find out! This was a pretty great, twisty novels as Lisa Jewell's books tend to be. If you're a fan of her, you will enjoy this book. Her books are usually a little slow in the beginning, but definitely starts to pick up after about halfway through the book. Who are they supposed to not let in? This book will keep you guessing!

Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell is an interesting book written in several timelines. At first I thought it would be that simple and the people would come together eventually, which they did but not as one would expect. It was both heart-breaking and heart-warming. It is the story of a man who killed, intentionally made a woman believe herself to be mentally ill, took advantage of numerous women as well as anyone else he could use. It was fascinating to watch the story unfold and see its many parts come together. It is essentially the story of a very creative male sex worker, who finally pushed his luck too far. The protagonist is a young woman named Ash who is the daughter of a woman pushed into running her husbands restaurants when her husband died tragically and way too early. She was good at it, but she didn’t have the passion for it, until a man showed up in her life. Ash was suspicious and started digging. It turns out she was one of several looking into the situation.
The characterization of the man involved in every aspect of the story is quite enticing, full of depth and humor, always in love and wanting to please. The plot was complicated to keep track of and the chapter headings, i.e. Four Years earlier, Two Months Later, were important, as it turned out, but tough to keep track of as the story was always hopping around, forward and backward. It was an enthralling story, carefully thought-out and written in a manner that made sense, after a while. The story moved quickly but covered a span of years. It also took place in a relatively small area of England. I didn’t really care for the subject matter but it was fascinating to see the story unfold. Very interesting.

This is my favorite Lisa Jewell yet!!! 😱 it hooked me immediately, got under my skin in the best of ways, I could not put it down. I loved trying to piece together what was going on, and discovering how everything connected in the end. The ending was so satisfying and this is an absolute must read thriller!

3.5 rounded up for the last 20% of the book.
Not gonna lie, this is the longest it has taken me to read an early access book (thank you NetGalley). It took me a bit to get into it, the first half dragged...but the last part...I flew through.
The book follows a man who is scamming his way into women's lives for their money. But what happens when you get caught? That is what happens to Nick...he infiltrates into the life of the Swann family...but Nina's daughter is skeptical and finds out way more about Nick than first meets the eye.

Don’t Let Him In is classic Lisa Jewell—tense, atmospheric, and psychologically layered. From the first page, Jewell pulls you into a slow-burn mystery that gradually tightens its grip. The story is unsettling in the best way, with a creeping sense of dread that builds as the characters’ pasts unravel.
The protagonist is complex and compelling, and the way Jewell weaves in themes of trust, trauma, and hidden truths is both smart and emotionally resonant. While the pacing lagged slightly in the middle and a couple of plot threads could have been more fully explored, the payoff is worth it. Jewell delivers a final twist that lingers long after you’ve closed the book.
A must-read for fans of domestic thrillers that don’t rely solely on shock value, but instead dig deep into what makes people tick—and what they’re willing to hide.

Clever! This book alternates between three different perspectives with lots of twists, turns and secrets! I think the best part of this book was how real the villain felt. If you watch a lot of true crime, you’ve seen this story over and over again. Woman falls in love with the perfect man— only to realize he’s actually a horrible person who’s been cheating and stealing their entire relationship. The middle felt a little long and laggy, but overall it was still a very enjoyable thriller! Four stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC. Don’t Let Him In publishes June 24, 2025.

Synopsis: Three different women are all victims of the same conman.
Thoughts: I am a huge fan of Lisa’s books. Her writing style always works for me, and the writing in this book is no exception. That being said - the storyline didn’t work for me here. It felt rather predictable and formulaic, with a very roundabout and meandering way to get to the (obvious) conclusion that really didn’t add any suspense or intrigue. I will say I am glad I didn’t put the book down when I was still bored about a third of the way through because it did pick up from there. The audio production was excellent and really saved this book. I highly recommend going through audio route if you can!

I was thrilled to receive an ARC of ‘Don’t Let Him In’ by Lisa Jewell. If you are an LJ fan like me, you need to read this book and I promise you will not be disappointed! This might be my favorite book of hers yet. As someone who fell victim to a man leading a double life (yes, this sh!t happens in real life!), I was hooked from the start and nervous the whole time trying to figure out what was coming next. The beginning is a bit confusing with the different timelines and names, but stick with it, it’s worth it. Get your copy beginning Jun 24th!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher, Atria Books, for gifting me this copy in exchange for my review consideration. All opinions are my own.

We’re first introduced to Nina, a widow whose very popular husband was killed recently, and to her daughter, Ash, who’s still recovering. Nina begins a relationship with Nick, who knew her husband long ago, but to Ash, something’s off about him. Then we meet Martha, who’s living an almost perfect life with her children and her husband Alistair, but something’s not right there, either. This was the kind of mystery I like – several points of view and jumps in time, so I need to keep track of events and characters for a while until I can keep them straight and get an idea of what is happening. Eventually, more characters were introduced, and that’s when I started having trouble keeping track of what everyone was up to. Some of those characters were unnecessary and could have been cut without harming the story. As I neared the end, I feared I knew what was coming and wasn’t sure I’d like it, but the author pulled off a better conclusion in the end. Thank-you to NetGalley, Atria Books, and Ms. Jewell for the ARC of this title.

4.5!
Read if you like:
- Conman thrillers
- Multi POV, dual timeline
- Feeling the emotional impacts
Told from both the perspectives of a conman and the various women who become victim to his schemes, Lisa Jewell’s latest is a fantastic story of an intricate web of deception and lies.
Lisa Jewell rarely misses for me, and her latest is no exception! While I have read many conman themed thrillers before, this one is particularly good because Lisa Jewell did an incredible job of nailing the emotional and devastating impacts from the actions in the story. It left me feeling like I’d been punched in the gut several times! I loved it, and I would definitely recommend this one!
Thank you so much NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC ebook!

I have been a big fan of Lisa Jewell for several years, so I was ecstatic to receive an ARC of her newest thriller!
This story is told from Multiple POVs and involves multiple timelines. After her husbands, death, Nina connects with Nick, who claims to be an old friend of her husband. This brings concern to her daughter Ash. Meanwhile, Martha is running her floral business and dealing with her distant husband Al. As their lives begin to intersect, nothing is ever as it seems.
While this novel didn’t seem as dark as some of her previous novels, it still kept me engaged the entire time I was reading! This was a slow burn mystery for me and while many of the twists were predictable, it was fun to see how the different timelines and POVs all came together at the end. I was shocked by the very last twist in the epilogue of the story.
Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’m a Lisa Jewell fan, and enjoyed this book as well. I found myself sneaking chapters in to find out how things were going to end. I was expecting a bit more of a twist or surprise reveal at the end, but the ending was still satisfying. There are a lot of names and characters to keep track of, spanning over 4 years. I like a scammer storyline and thought she did a good job on his POV chapters. I liked a lot of the female characters, especially “Mad Jane”. Jewell really brought them all to life. While it lives up to the mystery category, I’m not sure I’d consider it a thriller or suspense novel. It did make me want to visit a Paddy’s on the coast though. Lots of dreamy scenery to mentally vacation with.

This one started out really strong. I enjoyed the whole book but it did get a bit repetitive near the end. I also had to keep notes to remember who was who.

Take my review with a grain of salt since it seems I am one of the few people who did not enjoy this one. Which for me is rare, as Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors. To start, this is not a thriller, this is more of a mystery. If you go in thinking this will be suspenseful or anything you would be wrong. Myself personally I was able to guess where the book was going before the 20% mark. I thought surely it would go in a different direction just to spice things up, but it never did. I always love Lisa Jewells character works and plots, however this one just didn’t do it for me.

This had some really good parts and some not so good parts. Overall it was just SO confusing, because there were so many characters, overlapping timelines, and moving parts. But I did like it, it just didn't knock my socks off. I would recommend if you enjoy her other books!

Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I’m a fan of Jewell’s work and always pick up her books without looking at synopses, and I will continue to do that. This one wasn’t my favorite, but it was full of deceit, manipulation, and tension.
Without giving too much away, I found this one to be predictable and familiar. I had heard this story before, multiple times in different adaptations, so I didn’t find there to be any reveals. With that being said, I enjoyed the different POVs, I enjoyed the easy-to-read writing style, and I mostly enjoyed how everything came together in the end.
Fans of tangled webs, despicable characters, and female empowerment will find much to love in this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the opportunity to read and review this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I will start off by saying that I didn’t think this was a thriller. It’s more like a lifetime mystery movie. It’s about 3 different women who are being played by the same man. Ash is the daughter of Paddy who just recently passed away. Her mom Nina starts dating a guy named Nick, who pretends to be Paddy’s old friend. Ash doesn’t trust him from the beginning & will do everything to protect her mom. Nick is also married to Martha but goes by the name Al. He’s never home and always turns his phone off & Martha starts to get suspicious. This guy has been taking advantage and manipulating multiple women.
This book is all over the place and has multiple POV’s. The storyline is there but it just takes a while to really get going.
