Lisa Jewell's latest novel, Don't Let Him In, is a masterful exploration of deception and identity. The narrative intricately weaves together the lives of three women—Nina, Ash, and Martha—each unknowingly connected by a man who isn't what he seems.
This was a slow burn psychological thriller which kept me wondering how it was all going to unravel
The different timelines were initially confusing but loved how it all stitched together at the end

4.5 stars rounded up. This is exactly what I look for in a thriller — good twists, different viewpoints and the opportunity for the reader to guess where the story is going before the characters get there. Really enjoyed it. Would be a great beach/pool read.

Don’t let him in by Lisa Jewell.
As much as I’d like to say that I loved this book like others passed by this author I can’t say it. This book was jumpy and moved between multiple point of views, which was tough. Although this book wasn’t as twisty and suspenseful as previous books, by this author, the premise was interesting, but not as intriguing as I had hoped. It starts off with a man named Patty being pushed into the tracks and being killed and his family reeling from the loss. His daughterfeeling that foul play had occurred dives into the scenario, and a man randomly pops up, claiming to know her father.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for this Arc and my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley so much for the ARC! I was excited for this one, however it was a miss for me. It was extremely predictable and it just drug on forever with all of his cons to them all finding out. I did like the character of the daughter Ash. But that was about it. Thanks as always for the early read!

I liked the unraveling of the truth.. At times the different pov were hard to keep up but overall good. The ending was great and unexpected.

I adore Lisa Jewell - but this will not be ranked as a favorite. It was good but not great and at times didn't feel very Lisa Jewellish. There are a lot of characters and a lot to keep up with. It felt repetitive at times with a few parts feeling a little too unrealistic but I will say the ending was very satisfying. I wouldn't call it a thriller more like a domestic suspense. It was just an average read and felt meh.
Thank you Atria Books and NetGalley for this sneak peak! Publication date is June 24, 2025

I highly enjoyed Lisa's books prior, so when I got approved for this ARC, I was ecstatic! However, I found that the numerous points of views mixed in with different timelines, and having to keep track of which version of the character we were getting, made this book lackluster for me. I did find the ending very shocking though, which made pushing through the rest of the book worth it and upped my star rating

Lisa Jewell does it again! A gripping, suspenseful read that takes you through multiple POVs as we unravel the mystery of Nick along with Ash.

I have recently gotten into Lisa Jewell's books and this one was great! This story was gripping from the very first chapters. I would highly recommend this thriller.

Lisa Jewell never fails to write a heart-pounding thriller that will keep the reader guessing until the end. Don't Let Him In draws you in from the first few pages and leads you on a wild journey all the way to the end.

Thank you @atriabooks for my gifted eARC!! I had no idea what to expect with this one, I don’t need to read a synopsis when it’s a book by Lisa Jewell! But just know, I would not say this is a thriller! I wasn’t aware, but I was fine with that once I realized! It is such a convoluted, messed up, wild ride of a story! I have no idea how Lisa Jewell comes up with these books, but I am here for it! She writes some of the most deplorable characters, that I LOVE to read about! I love that this book has gotten so many mixed reviews! Those books, to me are the best that provoke visceral feelings one way or the other! I don’t want to go into too many details on this one and ruin it for anyone because there are so many twists and reveals that are so well done! So while, I felt like it was a bit predictable, know that it did not affect my reading experience in the least! Jewell is such a talented writer, every time I read a book of hers, I’m convinced it’s her best, until I read the next one! Highly recommend for her fans!

This is a cleverly plotted portrait of a psychopath. The main character "Nick" is an icky, duplicitous con man who takes advantage of middle-class women. I also didn't find "Nick" at all charming and therefore was surprised by how many women he managed to dupe. As is her signature style, Lisa Jewell keeps the book moving with short chapters and alternating POVs (between third person in the present and first person from "Nick" in flashbacks), but the set up was entirely too long. I despised "Nick" and it was deeply, profoundly uncomfortable to read his perspective. I understand that's the point, but his level of ickiness was too much for a popcorn thriller.
I loved the gripping, breakneck pacing and twists of Jewell's prior novel None of This Is True, but this moved slowly for what it was and I could easily predict some of the twists. The ending was satisfying and Jewell ties it all together cleverly, which is her signature! Overall, I much preferred the other Lisa Jewell thrillers I've read. I was excited to be an early reader of this one. Jewell clearly wanted to take readers inside the mind of a psychopath and she was incredibly successful at that...just too successful for my tastes.

I am a big fan of Lisa Jewell and Don’t Let Him in did not disappoint. Well developed story line with likable characters (with the exception of sociopath, Nick). It’s hard to imagine how he kept all his lives and partners straight.A page turning, quick read for those who love thrillers.

I’ve only read one or two of Lisa’s books previously, but enough to recognize that her new book, Don’t Let Him In, is good, but not her best. The con artist storyline is timely, but the thriller aspect was less pronounced than usual. I enjoyed the dual timelines and the ending, though I found some of the female characters frustrating. Overall, it was an entertaining read. Thank you very much to NetGalley and Atria for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

• Lisa Jewell is on my must read list, but this one
missed the mark for me with alternating POV's
and timelines and unlikeable characters
• A bit underwhelming as a thriller-more of domestic
fiction
• Final confrontation seemed a bit rushed and a bit
simplistic
• All the female characters seemed to be the same
• You still get Lisa's amazing writing style, but I found
the plot and twists to be very predictable
o If you like stories about con men, manipulative
behavior, and a slow burn investigation, this one
might be for you.

I love Lisa Jewell, she is an automatic buy author for me and I've loved her ever since I read Ralph's Party many many eons ago (this is a good moment for a PSA that if you have not read Ralph's party and Vince & Joy, and only know Lisa Jewell for her new mystery thriller turn, you must go back to her older catalog put them in your TBR). Now onto the book. This was a strange one for me, as I liked it but I did not love it. I love the concept of this, it feels very relevant after the whole tinder swindler hype, it just felt less of a thriller like she usually writes. I enjoyed it, even if i wanted to kill some of the women. There were some twists but it was more straightforward than some of her other books. I did enjoy the jumped timelines and the dual narration, with one going forward and one back. Also big points for the end.

Lisa Jewell has written another incredible thriller. This book is so intense and jaw dropping, with one of the best (worst?) villains I’ve ever read. This character is so well written with incredible backstory and I wanted to punch him myself. The other characters are quite likeable. The book itself is well written with a jumping timeline but one that clearly lets you know where you are. I kept questioning if I knew what was happening, like I do with most of her books. Great plot development. If you love a good revenge thriller then this will be a good one. Excellent book!
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Atria Books for the advance reader copy. Publication date June 24, 2025. 5⭐️

I absolutely love Lisa Jewell, but unfortunately this one was not it. Basically Ash is still grieving her father’s death and doesn’t trust her mother’s new boyfriend. She starts researching him and we get some flashbacks to his earlier life.
•
Where were the twists? Where was the tension? Very early on we learn that our dude Nick is a bad guy, and then we are hit over the head with it for 350+ pages. We get it, he’s the worst!!
•
I thought surely there would be a payoff for all the monotony but nope. He just sucks. The end.
•
I guess there were two small reveals, but they weren’t shocking at all because of course that’s what happened. 🤷🏻♀️😒
•
I found this boring and annoying. Hoping for more twisty tales in the future!! Thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the arc!!

Well.. geniunely hate myself for never having picked up a Lisa Jewell novel prior to this.. because this was FANTASTIC!
Hooked from the jump. Fully invested in the story. This was a wild ride but wasn't like, TOO wild that it couldn't actually happen? If that makes sense?? 🤣
I truly don't want to say much in fear of giving something away but, read this book!!!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Expected publish date is June 24th, 2025.

Don’t let him in. This is one of Lisa jewell best book. The world is not what it seems. You never know anyone, never. Just remember DONT LET HIM IN
