I'm not really sure what happened with this book! I hate to fully discredit it, which is why I'm solidly at 3 stars, but this isn't the Lisa Jewell we are used to. First of all, I'd 100% not call this a mystery in any way. It is definitely a thriller of sorts, though it doesn't move very quickly, which is probably my biggest criticism of the novel. The "gimmick" here is clever at first, but it doesn't take long to catch on to what is happening and what is going to continue to happen...and then the novel goes on and on for hundreds of pages. There really wasn't any suspense or big question about how things were going to play out, and I wasn't anywhere close to being on the edge of my seat like I typically am with a Lisa Jewell book.
As I've seen in other reviews, the MC in this novel is absolutely a horrible person, and I did think that he was a very complex and interesting character. In that sense, I'll give Jewell loads of credit, because this seemed to be deeper characterization than normal from her. But I also just kind of want to know what inspired this book/character because it is all so dark and unsettling. There were also a few plot points -- one in particular -- that either didn't wrap up very neatly or were really kind of a last-ditch effort to be shocking and simply didn't work for me.
It feels like Jewell wanted to try something a bit different with this novel; however, unfortunately, I don't think it was a success. Here's hoping she gets her groove back with whatever comes next.

This was a good book about a man that was many characters. The author did a great. job going back and forth between them. The twist at the end wasn't a huge wow factor, but it doesn't take away from the story. I will definitely recommend and read more by this author.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!!!
I have to be honesty, I was disappointed with this book. Way too many characters that all had dull personalities and a crazy back and forth timeline. From the very start of the book, it was extremely predictable, and it didn’t get any better.
I’ve heard good things about this author so I will give her books another chance, but unfortunately this book just did not do it for me.

Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite thriller authors because she consistently writes an enthralling book and her latest is no exception!
While this book felt less like a typical thriller with few twists and turns, I felt captivated for the entirety and didn’t want to put it down. I loved the short chapters and different POV as well as alternating timelines. All these elements make me want to keep reading. I ended up finishing it in about 24 hours! This one definitely felt a little more based in reality than a lot of thrillers and I liked that aspect of it.
I felt the ending was a bit lackluster but overall this book was one you will want to pick up if you enjoyed Lisa Jewell’s other books.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc

Ash (20-something daughter) is grieving the tragic loss of her father. In addition to her grief, she’s grappling with a recent “mental health crisis” that shifted people’s perspective of her. Ash’s mom starts dating a man who Ash has a bad feeling about. But who’s going to believe Ash, the unreliable narrator? Elsewhere we learn about Martha, a married but effectively solo-parenting mom and business owner, who is juggling all her responsibilities and becoming increasingly frustrated with her husband’s disappearing antics. The book takes us through several POVs including that of Ash, Martha, and a (or some) male character(s).
The start of the book was a bit slow and kind of overwhelming (so many characters and seemingly separate/unrelated events), until it connects about ⅓ of the way through. Once that happened, I was HOOKED. Just when I thought the evil people couldn’t get worse, I was proved wrong. It’s hard to say more without giving away any spoilers. So I’ll keep it at this:
This kept getting more and more INSANE and you don’t know how quickly I was breezing through these digital pages on my kindle, it was such a page turner! I especially loved how certain characters (especially the women) came together, no questions asked, to help each other after being deceived and having all the reason to mistrust others. There was one thing that didn’t fully make sense at the end, but the epilogue twist provided a satisfying ending.
If you like domestic thrillers and page turners, this is a must read. I’ve read several Lisa Jewell books and this is BY FAR the best one I’ve read!
Thanks to Atria Books & NetGalley for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Wow. Lisa jewell has done it again. FLAWLess. My only complaint is the book covers need to be updated to something more modern. But I'm obsessed. Absolutely amazing. 5 stars!!!!! Smash hit of this coming summer.

I have read several of the author’s books, and I believe this was my favorite. Though the story is straightforward, we keep getting different layers and surprises revealed. Also a great read for women believing women and sticking together.

First off thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC opportunity, I am so grateful to be able to read and review this one early.
Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors and Don’t Let Him In did not disappoint. The multiple view points, short chapters, twists and turns, made for an easy ready! I did not want to put it down.
The ending was perfect and what I was hoping for! You won my love again with your engaging characters? And thrilling writing style! I give this a 10/10

The foreword from publishing was accurate. This book was amazing and absolutely engrossing. I could not put this down!
Main character Nina, recently looses her husband and her 25 year old daughter, Ash, doesn’t quite trust the man her mom has started dating a year later. Ash starts to investigate into her mom’s new muse and finds a shocking reality. Told through many perspectives, readers will start to connect different lives of women, who made their worst mistake - they let him in.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

Great read! Ending was predictable, but it was still a great book! So glad i got this as an ARC. Read it in two days. Highly recommend!

Wow! Lisa Jewell just gets better and better with each book. She’s written another perfect thriller! What makes this book terrifying is everything that happens in the book can actually happen in real life. Lisa clearly did her homework here and terrifyingly portrays a narcissistic character in this story. I had to pick up my jaw from the floor a few times! I know the year just started but I can confidently predict that this will be the best thriller of the year! Lisa snapped with this one! I also enjoyed the epilogue at the end of the book and I appreciated the short chapters. Thank you for my ARC copy!!

coming at you with a SERIOUS HOT TAKE … I normally love Lisa Jewell’s books and always prioritize them …. but oh boy, #DontLetHimIn was NOT for me - this didn’t even feel like a thriller to me and by the time we got to the reveal, I hated everyone so much I honestly didn’t care. I’m usually not one to dedicate a post to a book I didn’t like, but this author is so popular that I’m confident there will still be a massive audience for this book.
Think #dirtyjohn , but more unlikeable (is that possible?)
This doesn’t release until June, so I’m sure many more reviews will roll in by then to help you decide.

Interesting plot, but long-winded and dragged at parts. Ending was enjoyable, but ultimately predictable.

I was so excited to pick up Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell! I tore through it in less than 24 hrs! If you’re a fan of Jewell’s unputdownable writing style you’re going to want to pick this up in June!
I can’t talk much about the plot without giving too much away, but this book gave off Dear John-esque vibes told in multiple viewpoints and timelines.
There are a lot of female characters to follow, but the book comes together nicely in the end. I
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for an advanced copy of this book!

Wow what a page turner! I devoured this book. Loved reading Nick’s perspective and his character development. However, the end was a little anticlimactic and predictable.

If you are a fan of Lisa Jewell this is a definite read. This book was another page turner with all the twists you would expect (and one I did not).
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Lisa jewel is one of my favorite authors-her ability to tell a story, is nothing short of amazing. With that said, I am sadly so disappointed in her latest book. Typically, I am pulled into Lisa’s books from the beginning pages. In contrast, this book started very slowly. The many characters, changing timelines, and multiple POV’s, made the story-telling clumsy and murky. The many timelines were confusing, at times. The entire story was a repetitive storyline involving the same scenario playing out with many different women. The book went into great detail of their lives, and their association with the main character. The storyline moved extremely slowly, with not much happening other than further examples of how awful a conman the main character is, how he lived his very dysfunctional life, and how the women were conned over and over again. Not many surprises or twists, often predictable outcomes. I believe the story idea is a good one, and with the proper execution, could have been fantastic. Those who like character driven novels with many character storylines and analyses, may enjoy this book. The theme of obsession is prominent. The author is able to weave together all the characters, and intersecting plot lines, although the intersecting character interactions were sometimes forced. I still adore Lisa Jewel and look forward to her next one!
Thank you #netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book from a fantastic author!

While I enjoyed “Don’t Let Him In”, it sure took me a while with the back and forth between characters to figure out the storyline. It was a good read, I just wish the ending didn’t crash upon it so quickly. DO make sure you read the epilogue!

This book started off extremely choppy. It eventually came together, but I found it rather irritating. Since I was reading this on my kindle, I couldn’t easily flip back to chapters to jog my memory. Not a spoiler, but I’m a bit confused also about the letter at the end. What was the significance?
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

It's amazing how many lives can come together, and be negatively impacted, by just one man... Do you know what it feels like to meet a friend of a friend that everyone loves, but they give you a vibe and you know that there's something wrong with them? Do you know what it feels like to question your sanity, or to have other people question it? If so, then you will likely resonate with this novel.
Jewell always keeps me interested with her cast of flawed and very human characters, but I think this is probably her strongest work yet. The way she goes back and forth between POVs in this novel really kept me on the edge of my seat. The rate of revelation felt very controlled and the whole thing felt so well plotted out, like I could see the red strings on the map connecting characters, locations, and events on someone's wall.
