What a thrill ride of a book! I stayed up all night reading this one. I’m a huge fan of Lisa Jewell and have read all of her books so I was beyond excited to be able to read her latest thriller, Don’t Let Him In. I have no idea how she does it but she manages to successfully write books that capture the readers attention right from the start. I will say that the plot in this book does alternate through timelines and perspectives which can confuse certain readers so I advise that you read this book with meticulous attention since this isn’t one you can skim or skip through. I will also say that there are some trigger warnings for this book without going into detail or giving away spoilers just know it isn’t for the faint of heart. I was anxious reading through this and my heart was seriously palpitating because I needed to know what happened next! You get caught up in all the drama of the characters and can really visualize everything playing out. This is a book you can’t put down and I will be purchasing the final copy once it publishes on June 24 2025. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review and feedback.

Lisa Jewell is an auto buy author for me and this book just confirmed it. I loved it so much, it kept me engaged the entire time!

This story pulls you in from the very first page with its eerie tension and an undercurrent of dread that builds throughout. The characters are richly drawn, and Jewell’s trademark knack for exploring human vulnerabilities shines through. The twists and turns kept me captivated, and I found myself devouring chapters. This book was as entertaining as it was unsettling, with Jewell expertly ratcheting up the suspense. Each revelation made me question what I thought I knew, and the ending left me thoroughly satisfied.

If you enjoy gripping psychological thrillers with a sinister edge, Don’t Let Him In is a must-read. I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy, and I already can’t wait to discuss this one with fellow readers. Jewell has done it again!

Lisa Jewell has done it again with another fast-paced thriller. This was my vacation book, and it was perfect. The story got me hooked quickly, and I found myself enjoying and relating to the various personalities of the characters.

The characters are diverse and complex, including the main antagonist who I found particularly interesting. His ability to justify and explain away his behavior, even to himself showed an astonishing yet believable lack of self-awareness.

In short, this is the prefect thriller.

I'm a Lisa Jewell fan and was thrilled to get an advanced copy of her newest book--especially since the subject matter (think The Girlfriends and Something Was Wrong podcasts) is so compelling.

The book is excellent--an absolute page turner. The only thing that kept it from being a 5-star read for me was the ending didn't quite stick. The last 15% was a bit repetitive at times (though I understand the need to give information we already know from the women's perspectives), and the epilogue wasn't quite the chilling moment I'd hoped for. Although, there is one fascinating twist in the end that I didn't see coming (Lisa Jewell gets me every time!).

I absolutely recommend it!

Lisa Jewell has been a favorite author of mine for the last few years and I was excited to get an early opportunity to read this one. While it has alot going for it, I found myself confused and annoyed with the alternating time lines. I think it would have helped to at least identify Nick/Alistair/Damien/Andre in each chapter heading. Jumping back and forth between the present and four years ago is difficult enough, but I couldn't think of a single other Jewell book where I was lost for the first quarter and couldn't find the plot. The final confrontation where the women all found each other through a facebook page also seemed rushed and a bit too simplistic, not to mention unsafe, given that they were confronting a person they knew had violent tendencies. All in all, it just didn't grip me in the same way that most of Lisa Jewell's books have, but it has plenty of good moments and some decent twists. Thanks to Atria and Netgalley for this early review copy.

Books that jump back and forth between several different times and people often don’t hold my focus. It feels like too much to keep up with. However, I continued reading and I am glad I did! The author wrapped up all of it very nicely with an ending that you can appreciate after reading about all of the terrible things the main character has done. I chose this book because I had read another book by this author and enjoyed it. This one didn’t disappoint either.

I have read many of Lisa Jewell's previous books and was so excited to receive an advanced copy of this one -- one of my most anticipated reads for 2025. It did not disappoint -- I couldn't put it down and loved the quick pace and page turning short chapters.

As with Lisa Jewell's other books, it's hard to trust anyone or not be on the lookout for the next twist. I enjoyed the characters in this one quite a bit, and it was interesting to get an inside look at the mind of the villain. I loved Ash and looked forward to her chapters -- she was such a good character.

I didn't wholly love the ending but I see why it needed to end this way and understand it.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys domestic thrillers, and is looking for a deeply unsettling page turner! As always I cannot wait to read more Lisa Jewell.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an early copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Lisa Jewell continues to be a favorite of mine in the thriller genre. Her plots are not too outlandish and there are just enough twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. Her newest novel out in June is no exception- fast paced, juicy and little scandalous. Tied up a touch too neatly for my taste but thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you to NetGalley for a digital arc of this novel!

Lisa Jewell is back with another twisty, page-turning thriller, with "Don't let Him In" and trust me, you’ll be hooked. I give this book 5 stars. Wow! What a quick and engaging read. I have read other books by Lisa Jewell and this may be my new favorite. I liked the varying perspectives and timelines and appreciated the different font and font size when told through Al/Nick's voice. This twisty, page-turning thriller had me hooked. Nothing is as it seems and the characters connections to each other were a great touch. Jewell knows how to keep you guessing, throwing in twists that make you question everything. Characters and timelines are interwoven together in a way that kept my interest and made me not want to put it down. Just when I thought he couldn't get any worse, he continued to make everyone's life around him implode. Jewell knows how to keep you guessing, throwing in twists that make you question everything.

The characters are complex and definitely keep you on your toes. Just when you think you’ve figured it all out, she hits you with a curveball. It’s one of those books that you’ll devour in a weekend, just to find out how it all ends. If you’re into psychological thrillers that mess with your head, this one’s definitely worth picking up.

Lisa Jewell has long been one of my favorite thriller authors, and Don’t Let Him In (seriously, could the title be any more perfect?) is another winner! This book kept me hooked from start to finish, leaving me craving more while also making my skin crawl. Ah!

Publication Date: June 24, 2025

As always, a huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book honestly.

Well, one thing is for sure Lisa Jewell sure knows how to write a character you hate. Obviously that was the point and she nailed it.

Lisa Jewell has been my favorite author for years. In this book you still get Lisa's amazing writing style but I found the plot and twists to be very predictable. The multiple POVs were fine for me, even the switching between first and third person grew on me. I found the first half of the book to be extremely slow paced. That being said though it still held my attention enough to keep flipping the pages until the very end.

I found all the female characters to be pretty much the same. Which I understand the psychology behind it - it just made reading them quite boring. I'm sad to say that this book missed the mark for me, and maybe that's a me problem. While I did enjoy it, I just didn't love it. If you enjoy multiple povs and drama/mystery/suspense vs thriller then I think you would enjoy it.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Atria for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

2.75 ⭐️ and maybe that’s even generous.
First, thank you netgalley, atria books, and Lisa jewell for the advance copy.

This was very slow and boring and insanely predictable. Very little happens, and all of the “shocks” were not shocking in the slightest. Maybe Lisa jewell just isn’t for me. I generally try not to think much when reading thrillers so that I get the full twist experience, but man there was not a single surprise in this entire book. Went exactly how I thought it would. And calling this a thriller is a stretch, it’s not thrilling.

At least it was semi short, although 10 days on a short thriller is very very long for me. I liked the multiple pov and multiple timelines. Just next time add in something shocking and interesting.

I was debating 2 or 3 stars for this, but the ending at least didn’t completely piss me off like I thought it would. At least it didn’t get the none of this is true ending.

Don't Let Him In is an interesting thriller. It has many twists and surprises. The characters are interesting. I enjoyed this book.

Lisa Jewell is one of my favorite authors and Don’t Let Him In is her latest book. After Nina lost her husband unexpectedly, a stranger got in touch with her telling her he used to work with her late husband, when they were younger. He asked if he could visit and talk about her husband and the times they worked together. To her adult daughter Ash’s dismay, he sticks around and him and her mother are getting close. Ash doesn’t really trust him but can’t really say why. This book had many POWs and was sometimes hard to keep up with them all, but regardless I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to Netgalley for this arc.

Oh my word! This book was gripping, intense, edgy…you name it. Lisa Jewell has blown me away with her writing in this one. Loved every page and couldn’t put it down. Such a good plot, full of characters that are engaging and I found myself very invested in them.. There were points I felt like screaming out loud for these women to WAKE UP and to stop allowing this guy to take from them over and over. I would highly recommend this one to others who love a good psychological thriller.

Thanks NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. This one was just ok for me. Couldn’t take the back and forth between characters and timelines. Usually love this author but not this time.

5/5 exciting from the first page to the very last. Pace was great, story moved along well. There are a lot of characters and that was hard to follow at times. I just love Lisa Jewells writing style. Interesting and easy to read.

I LOVE Lisa Jewell books. This one was an exception though...This was not a thriller nor a mystery. This was a predictable domestic/family drama featuring a con man and a bunch of manipulated women. It jumps abruptly between several perspectives which was made jarring by the different points of view (two in third person and in the present, one in first person and in the past). The women featured were all so similar that it was hard to keep track of which was which.

It was very easy to connect the dots from the start and figure out what the guy was doing to the women and how. There were almost no surprises the entire book and I didn't feel like it was thrilling at all--the ending felt inevitable and not very satisfying. I spent the entire book learning about how the man was scamming the women and getting annoyed by how easily they were scammed (to be fair I don't know if I personally would have seen through it).

Also the whole thing with Ash getting diagnosed with <spoiler>borderline personality disorder because of the man felt super unnecessary and infuriating. Personality disorders are not to be taken lightly as they are a huge part of a person and prevalent throughout their lives. Sure, she seemed like a creepy obsessed stalker, but that didn't seem like it met criteria for BPD. Unless it was some commentary about how personality disorders are sometimes misdiagnosed, I don't see the purpose of the storyline. </spoiler>

Overall, this was the first time I felt so let down by Jewell. I really enjoyed None of This is True last year and that prompted me to read some of her backlog, all of which I was thoroughly entertained by. This feels like a strange outlier in her catalogue of books.

Thank you to NetGalley + Atria Books for the ARC!

Lisa Jewell has done it again. This story is chilling. After losing her husband, Nina is pursued by a man who says he knew her late husband when they were young. But he might not be all he seems to be, and there are others who have been fooled by his charms in the past. I really enjoyed this one. It was a slow burn, and the. Suddenly it was a freight train of revelations.
