Ash is still mourning a year after her fathers passing, and finds it hard to accept her mothers new beau, Nick. Worried he may be after her mom’s money, she links up with an unlikely partner to investigate. Meanwhile, Martha can’t determine why she has trouble reaching her husband, Alistair, whenever he’s away “on business.” And four years before this? A man is striving to leave his wife for his mistress - but on HIS timeline. When his wife throws this off track, it sets off a chain of events that lead him down a dark path.

I really enjoyed this! I was very invested in the stories and how they all. Interconnected and would come together for resolution in the end. Seeing in the mind of the man was extremely off-putting but in a fascinating way. My only annoyances were some
Of the actions of the victims just made no sense.

The way I wanted to grab some of these characters by the shoulders and shake them to make them realize how flawed this man was is unreal! The back and forth between all the characters and their story lines was a little hard to follow but ultimately I enjoyed the story and had to see it thru till the end.

My 8th book by Lisa Jewell and maybe my favourite?

What made this book for me was the characters. I love a good multi POV thriller with some interesting characters and this one delivered.

I had a strong inkling of what was going on throughout and am pretty proud of myself for picking up some small clues along the way for some extra twists. Even though I suspected some of the twists, I still loved seeing them come to fruition.

Jewell is also a master at holding my attention. When I was reading this book I did not want to put it down. She has nailed the pacing here!

Thanks to @atriabooks and @netgalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest opinions. Pick this one up June 24th when it publishes.

I devoured Lisa Jewell's latest release, Don't Let Him In in under 24 hours. It’s that kind of book. Fast-paced, addicting, and built around short, snappy chapters that keep you saying “just one more.” Jewell knows how to hook a reader early and never lets go.

This story is told through multiple POVs and shifting timelines, and I’ll be honest, it’s a little disorienting at first. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, and I found myself flipping back a few times in the beginning to remember who was related to who. But once I got a handle on the cast, it really paid off. The interwoven narratives add depth and suspense as the puzzle pieces start snapping into place. I like how Jewell laid everything out pretty early on so the reader knows what's happening instead of trying to keep it all a secret. It's more of a race to see if the women in Nick's life can put everything together before it's too late.

Let’s talk about Nick. Yikes, what a psychopath. Reading his perspective was often infuriating. Jewell nails the “charming but dangerous” archetype with him, and his chapters are deeply uncomfortable in the best thriller-y way.

This felt more like domestic suspense than a straight thriller, but it really walks the line between the two. If you're a fan of stories that slowly unravel secrets in seemingly normal relationships, this will scratch that itch. There’s a constant undercurrent of dread, and I loved the slow-burn tension that builds as the women in the story get closer to the truth.

Lisa Jewell continues to be a master of her craft. Don't Let Him In delivers exactly what I was hoping for: gripping, twisty, and emotionally grounded. It’s a perfect summer read if you want something suspenseful but not too dark. And the ending? Super satisfying.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster | Atria Books for gifting me a digital ARC of the latest thriller by a favorite, Lisa Jewell. All opinions expressed in this review are my own - 4.5 stars rounded up!

A very quick synopsis because you need to go into this one as blind as possible. Nina and her two adult children, Ash and Arlo, are grieving the sudden death of her husband, Paddy. Ash had been living back at home after a psychological breakdown and is having an especially difficult time when Nina takes up with a new man. She has doubts about him right away, but can her doubts be trusted?

Lisa Jewell never fails to write a book that I have a hard time putting down, and this was definitely no exception. Told in short chapters from multiple POVs (watch for the different font styles to keep people straight!), I was so involved with this story. You'll be rooting for some characters, while despising others. The plot just keeps getting more and more twisted until the end and I was on pins and needles. Don't miss this one!

Nick Radcliffe meets Nina swan, a recent widow after her husband was murdered from being pushed into a train. He came into her life after knowing her late husband, but seems a little too perfect for her. Her daughter, Ash, gets eerily, suspicious, and start sticking around. Is Nick who he really says he is?

Martha, a floral oat shop owner has a husband Allistar who travels a lot for work and has been a devoted husband, but recently has been traveling a lot more than normal with his phone off. Is Martha right to be suspicious of Al?

How do these paths twist together and with other women over the years? Read to find out and Don’t Let Him In!

To be honest, I LOVE Lisa Jewell books! She’s one of my favorites where I can be guaranteed a good read I cannot put down. However this one, I found myself putting down more than picking up. I wanted to love it, but I find books with strong female characters more my thing vs ones where they seem blinded by reality. It did have some twists, I predicted them, but I also read a lot of books similar so the average reader might not. I still think if you love Lisa’s books as much as I do give it a shot.

Release date - 6/24-25

Lisa Jewell delivers again with Don't Let Him In—a chilling, expertly woven story of three women unknowingly connected by one dangerously charming man. I was hooked from the first page, and the suspense just kept building. Loved the shifting perspectives and the slow reveal of dark secrets. If you're looking for a fast-paced summer read that keeps you guessing, this is it. I really enjoyed it!

This book was so much fun and pulled me in from start to finish!

I loved learning just a little bit more and a little bit more as time went on and new plot points were revealed.

By the end I had to know how it finished, and the ending was so satisfying after that long build up.

I guessed a few of the twists early on, but it didn’t lessen the storyline at all.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for providing me with a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Lisa Jewell is the queen of the psychological thriller, and this book is no different. Lisa weaves a story of different women and families that are geographically separated, but connected in one specific way (and they don’t know it). However, the daughter of one of those women, gets “the ick”, and starts to dig into the stories and background of what her mother has been told.

This story is so well written, it’s easy to follow with the different characters and storylines and the twists near the end were unexpected and phenomenally well done.

I usually love Lisa Jewell’s work, but this one didn’t hit for me. There are too many characters to keep up with and before I can find the will to care about any of them, more crop up. Over 50% of the way through the book I realized that I don’t care what happens to any of these people and walked away.

This book should be called Dumb Women 🤦🏼‍♀️. I pretty much was yelling that in my head the entire time! I know it’s just a book, but man that drives me crazy. Thus, Lisa Jewell did an awesome job writing the characters to make the reader feel so intently about the book.

This book took me a bit to get into it since I had no idea what was going on and which POV I was reading. Once I realized the connections, it really got going. This book was so good! I loved all of the overlaps that started to evolve. It was a fun puzzle.

The characters are all pretty unlikable and the male MC was brutal. The whole time I just wanted someone to figure it out, but all the women minus two, are dumb idiots! There is no way they would trust someone this much to overlook all of the obvious signs of a spouse’s indiscretions and theft.

Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

This book was super twisty and had me flying through the pages. I loved the different timelines and POVs. I wanted a bit more at the end which is why I gave 4 stars. Overall, a super fun and creepy read!

I normally like Lisa Jewell’s books but this just wasn’t my favorite . It was more of a suspense than a thriller . I think just trying to keep the intertwining stories straight was distracting to the point it was hard to focus on.
It is kind of hard to review without giving anything away. The main character is a sociopath who manages to con several women over the years . His shocking behavior keeps you guessing . Overall it was a decent book just not my favorite of hers .
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for a copy for my opinion.

I enjoyed Don’t Let Him In, once I got about 50% through the book. This book is about Rick, a fella that shows up in Nina and Ash’s life after the death of their husband and father, Paddy. Something about Rick doesn’t feel quite right to Ash, and she starts investigating him and his background. He may have everyone fooled, but her gut is telling her something isn’t quite right.
While At first, it was very hard to keep straight and keep up with. I felt like the MMC could have been developed better with less book dedicated to his story line. I really enjoyed Ash’s story line and detective work. A lot of the book was exhausting with the constant gaslighting. The book did tie up nicely at the end, albeit quickly.

WOWZERS! Intensely nail-biting and simmering with a pot-boiling-level of mounting pressure, Don’t Let Him In had me mesmerized from the very first riveting page. You see, beyond the compelling characters and twisty, twisty plot, there was a despicable villain who I loved to hate straight off the block. A gaslighter supreme with no sense of morals, he pulled me in deep as I got to hear the story via his very own words. But, of course, this tale wouldn’t be a complete without a couple of other POVs and dual timelines, showing all sides of this brilliantly tangled web of secrets. Through their eyes, this story was everything I wanted and more, and left my fist pumping the air as I read an epilogue that had me shouting out loud. I kid you not. It was that good.

Let me back up just a bit, though, and cover the basics. With an onion-like plot that had layers of deftly employed secrets and lies, it was a joy to uncover them one by one with each well-timed reveal. And let me tell you, this was one intricate storyline full of plot charging drama and complex group dynamics. I do have to say, though, that while it was a tiny bit of a slow burn at the start, the multiple families and their individual crises caused the simmering start to quickly explode into an addictive game of expert mind games when they began to interweave. It was so addictive, in fact, that I binged this 450+ page novel in just under forty-eight hours. After all, I simply could not put this book down, despite the many chores that were calling my name.

All said and done, I think we should start calling Ms. Jewell the Queen of Suspense. With palpable tension, teasing plot twists, and a perfectly plotted, smile-inducing conclusion, this tale of domestic suspense demonstrated why this author is one of my all-time favorites. What blew me away the most, though, was how utterly plausibleeverything actually was. From the devious manipulation to the unbridled deceit, I could truly see this book instigating my own side-eye suspicion in a partner or spouse. One small warning before I sign off, though. You’re going to need to be on your game while reading this book. As long as you pay close attention, however, the complex plot is sure to win you over in spades. Rating of 5 stars.

Thank you to Lisa Jewell, Atria Books, and NetGalley for my complimentary digital and physical copies. All opinions are my own.

I will admit this book had me hooked. It was super interesting and honestly also exhausting. How many lies is to much to keep up with?! Apparently not enough for the guy in this book. I wanted the ending to go out more with a bang but I overall enjoyed it. A great thriller for summer!

🌟🌟🌟🌟
I enjoyed the thrilling and twisty storylines that this book offered. They tie in together, which I found entertaining.
The beginning was a little on the slower side, but the pacing and excitement did pick up. There was a good amount of suspense, shocks and surprises, which kept me engaged and wanting to read on.
There’s a darkness and reality to the wild story.

You know when you find a book that grabs you by the throat from page one and doesn't let go? That's "Don't Let Him In." Lisa Jewell, my queen of domestic suspense, has crafted a masterpiece of deception, and I am still reeling.

Meet Nina, whose late husband's "old friend" Nick Radcliffe waltzes back into her life. He's charming, he's sophisticated, he's got a smile that could probably sell ice to an Eskimo. But Nina's daughter, Ash, has that gut feeling – the one that screams, "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!" And trust me, when Ash starts digging, things get more than "unsettling."

Then there's Martha, a florist whose devoted husband, Alistair, is suddenly very busy with "work trips."

Nina, Ash, and Martha are on a collision course, and let me tell you, the truth is darker than my soul after a week without coffee. This book is a masterclass in tension, building layer upon layer until you're convinced you can't trust anyone. The title isn't just a catchy phrase, it's a screaming warning.

If you've ever wondered what secrets lie behind the most perfect facades, or if you just love a good thriller that makes your heart pound, "Don't Let Him In" is your next obsession. Get ready for twists, turns, and that signature Lisa Jewell chill that leaves you wondering, "What was that noise?!"

Don't Let Him In once again demonstrate's Lisa Jewell's ability to create a fascinating tapestry of story, weaving together characters, plot lines, and twists into a delightfully unsettling (yet somehow cozy) read. It feels difficult to describe the plot of the story initially, as the chapters jump from one perspective to another. Yet each story seems to share a baffling connection to one Nick Radcliffe, a man who seems kind, attractive, and completely perfect. We soon learn; however, that things are not quite what they seem. The story moves along at a rapid pace with revelation after revelation that creates an incredibly compelling and tense story.
