If you’re a thriller reader, you know and love Lisa Jewell. If you’re like me, you can’t wait for her new releases. I was truly jumping for joy when this sweet baby showed up in my mailbox (THANK YOU @atriabooks )

I have seen lots of mediocre reviews of this. I went in with low expectations. There are LOTS of names and characters and the timelines are confusing to say the least. This wasn’t a book I couldn’t put down but it also was one that that I needed to see how it ended.

The synopsis of this book could pretty much be: John Tucker Must Die for old people.

I didn’t love the first 80% of this book. I really thought I’d be writing a rude review. BUT my hot take is that I actually loved the last 20%. I loved seeing the scorned women put together the pieces and ban together. The libra in me LOVES justice. So I was so glad that this book ended the way it did.

HOWEVER, I finished that last 20% at 2 am when I couldn’t fall back asleep after nursing a baby. So the rest of the night I dreamt that my husband has 15 secret mistresses and 4 secret children and LET ME TELL YOU, the dream felt SO real.

All this to say, this is not close to being a 5 star read or my favorite Lisa Jewell. BUT you may like it more than a lot of the early reviews are portraying. I definitely think it’s worth giving it a chance (also I am thinking this could be better on audio?)

I went in knowing I loved every Lisa Jewell book I've read so my expectations were high for this, and I was not disappointed. I love her writting style. It was one of those books I kept thinking about getting back to when my life responsibilties were calling. All Nick's deceptions were so well plotted and I just love reading from the POV of a psychopath. Awesome fast paced thriller. I cant wait to get a phyical copy for my collection. Another 5 star read from Lisa Jewell.

I love Lisa Jewell’s writing. This might be my second favorite of hers (Then She Was Gone is my forever favorite of hers). With this book I was hooked from the very beginning and I couldn’t put this down. With any of her books, she strategically puts the hints throughout the story without taking the reader out of it. The ending was a little tidy, but I didn’t mind it. Thank you NetGalley, Lisa Jewell and Atria Books for this great digital arc.

Lisa Jewell did it again with this book. It kept me hooked from start to finish. There were a lot of characters and shifting POVs, but it was the perfect balance (any more and it might have been overwhelming). The tension built beautifully and just when I thought I’d be left frustrated, the Epilogue delivered the closure I needed. A fabulous, binge-worthy read!

Again, i really love lisa jewell and i thought this was one of her best books yet. The best books make you question your own reality, in my opinion, and i really started to do that. I couldn’t put it down and almost read it all in one sitting. I loved this so much, i wish i could re-read it.

this book is a DNF for me. I found it really hard to get into and I just was not interested in the story or the characters.

Not my favorite Lisa Jewell novel, but a mediocre Jewell book is still a good character-driven mystery.

Thank you to NetGalley for this arc!

I hated this man so much, but that’s exactly how you’re supposed to feel. Well written, I enjoyed the fact that the suspense was centered around a con artist, not a killer (although there’s a little bit of that too)
Overall enjoyable, I was very satisfied with the ending!

One of her best, if not her best! This was disturbing at many points, but I devoured the book. It reminded me of Liz Nugent (one of my other favorites). Well-written as always -- Jewell is at the top of her game.

My husband said I must rate this 5 stars because I literally couldn’t shut up about it and he said he knew the best books are ones that I don’t shut up about. What he doesn’t know, is this book made me second guess our whole relationship and wonder if he could have a multitude of other wives. The best books make you question your reality and feel what’s going on in them. I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down and almost read it all in one sitting. I always highly recommend Lisa Jewell’s books! Thank you so much to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy of the arc in return for an honest review!

Let me start by saying I love Lisa Jewell.

That being said, two things can be true at the same time- I did not love this. Don’t Let Him In was such an incredibly slow burn that I struggled to engage with it. The characters and story did nothing for me. If I’m being honest, I was just incredibly bored.

Was this for me? No.

Will other people love it? Of course.

Will I still be first in line for her next release?
Absolutely.

Don't let him in by Lisa Jewell
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Outlier alert ⚠️

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lisa Jewell, but this books multiple POV and multiple timelines gave me serious whiplash. I barely understood who I was reading and what timeline I was in.. I believe that possibly the font was changing per character? Maybe. But I couldn't remember which font was whose and all that jazz. This book just didn't wow me like a few of her previous novels have.
Maybe this one deserves a reread or a listen in the near future.

#qotd. Name a book you enjoyed one way more than another?
[ For instance, you couldn't get into audio, but reading it was great!]

I enjoyed this multiple-perspective read that took us on a wild ride. I really liked the look back and forth through the different times in his life, and I actually liked knowing from the start that this was all going to somehow connect and be about the same person. It was kind of fun putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

4.5 ⭐

The queen of domestic thrillers is back, readers. 👏 I was ecstatic to get my hands on an ARC of Don't Let Him In, and as always, Lisa Jewell does not disappoint. One of my favorite common threads running through her suspense novels is how characters and situations slowly morph from seemingly normal into something altogether creepy. This latest book offers up a delicious dose of this element. I was pulled into this story right from the start, and the further I got into it, the harder it was to come up for air. The layers, all the threads that slowly began to untangle, the building tension...these are just a few things that make Don't Let Him In a read that you don't want miss.

This was only the second Lisa Jewell book I've read and i enjoyed it just as much as my first. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me the privilege to read this. I thought the plot of the book was incredibly terrifying and enticing. the pace of the book was nonstop and it made it difficult to put down because i was so intrigued as to what was going to happen next.

In the end, i thoroughly enjoyed this book, it's characters, plot twists and resolution.

Don't Let him In is a slow burn domestic thriller that you absolutely cannot stop reading.

The family of Paddy Swann is reeling from his sudden and unexpected death. His widow, Nina and her daughter Ash are trying to figure out the next step when a mysterious and handsome old friend of Paddy's infiltrates their life. Nick Radcliffe seems too good to be true and while Nina is impressed, Ash isn't so sure.

Martha is a florist with her own shop and has a husband Al, two kids from her first marriage, and a child with Al. He is the perfect husband, however, he is always gone and they never seem to make any money.

Even though Nina, Ash, and Martha don't know each other, they are unknowingly connected. Nina and Martha have their suspicions about Nick and Al but only Ash takes the initiative to get the truth.

Told from the viewpoint of Nick, Al, Ash, and Martha and alternating from past to present, we find out how everyone is connected, meet some other players and ultimately end up with a satisfying answer. It's hard to say much more without giving away the plot. Highly recommend reading this one.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Although this book did start a little slow, once I got through the first couple chapters I was hooked! I love to hate a nasty villan and I really rooted for the women in this story. I especially loved all of the little pices of information we learn though out the story.

Without a doubt, this is the best thriller that I have read in a long time. I adore Lisa Jewell's writing. Martha and Nina became such real characters to me that I felt they just jumped off the pages. And the character of Al/Nick was one I loved to hate. I could not put this book down. Lisa Jewell... please keep the books coming. You are an absolute treasure! If you are looking for a book that will draw you in and pack in your beach bag, Don't Let Him In is it.

WOW! This was crazy and twisted in true Lisa Jewell fashion. I would have loved to give this one 5 stars, but it got super repetitive at times for me, and was very much a slow burn, so I had to knock it down a bit. The last half was definitely more exciting, and loved to see how everything came together even tho it was fairly predictable overall. I think this one will take me some time to fully process! 3.5 stars rounded up.

Thank you NetGalley and Atria books for my ARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

Advertised as a kaleidoscope thriller, Don’t Let Him In is a fast paced, multi storyline, read in one gulp adventure.

This twisty story has a made to hate villain who is nice enough to give us his POV so we can see the inner workings of his slippery evil. His victims are lonely, vulnerable women looking for love and quite frankly dumb as rocks. I had to suspend my disbelief quite a bit but this book was so much fun I didn’t mind.

Lisa Jewell knows how to entertain.
