Anything and everything Thorne writes is near perfect, and this was no exception. This was a wonderful installment in the series and the narrator was great!
This series just keeps getting better! The banter and jokes are hilarious! The action kept me from being able to set it down!
This was another fun installment of this series. It was much more political than the others. Less action. But if you’re already attached to the characters, and why wouldn’t you be, it’s worth the read! And if you haven’t started the series yet - what are you waiting for!
Tea You at the Altar by Rebecca Thorne is the third installment in the story of my favorite couple, Kianthe and Reyna—and this time, they’re getting married! With only a week leading up to their wedding, things are busy, and baby dragons are playing in Tawney. As always the puns continue, as Reyna brews a cup of mint tea, she is asked, “Is it mint tea or minty?”
Honestly, this was probably my favorite book in the series so far. I love watching all the characters evolve and how real Reyna and Kianthe feel. Their relationship doesn’t feel storybook fake; it’s genuine and relatable. They communicate openly, sometimes faltering, which only deepens their connection. They are building a community, and that community truly supports one another.
There were secrets and life changes throughout the book, and I loved every single one of them. The cliffhanger at the ending makes it hard to know I’ll have to wait to see what happens!! I also have to say how much I love listening to Jessica Threet narrate these books. Her voices for each character are amazing, and I cherish every minute I get to spend with them.
Another great installment of this book. Cozy fantasy, action, books, tea. AND a wedding! It's fun but again if you like slow burn or atmospheric fantasies, this is more your type of book.
This book was a lovely continuation in this cozy fantasy series. I loved being back in Tawney and surrounded by all the wonderful characters in the little village. They add so much charm and humor to the story. I found this book much more enjoyable then book 2. The story focuses on Kianthe and Reyna again which I found much better as I rea ly disliked the added perspectives in book 2.
I also think that having the plot be about preparing for a wedding allowed there to be drama and tension while still keeping the cozy fantasy and slice of life atmosphere. There is a large side plot happening throughout this book that was very unbelievable and made it hard to suspend my disbelief. But overall, I found this book very fun and good instalment in the series.
However, I listened to this as an audio book and I really disliked the narration. The narrator would add in laughs, sobs and exclamations that just came across as fake and cringy to me. If you are picky about audiobooks, I would recommend reading this book rather then listening to it as the narration style definitely impacted my enjoyment.
I really enjoyed Tea You at the Altar which is book 3 of the Tomes & Tea series. The audiobook was fantastic, and the narrator, Jessica Threet, did a great job bringing the cozy, adventurous vibes to life. It was so much fun catching up with familiar characters from the previous books and meeting a few new ones. Plus, the mix of wedding chaos and dealing with in-laws, baby dragons, and political intrigue with the Queen and possible new heir kept things exciting.
The cliffhanger at the end, though…wow! I’m still reeling and can’t wait for the final book! My only complaint…one character got a magical boob job, which is a bizarre concept and kept “showing off” the new goods, and it felt so out of place and kept pulling me out of the story every time it was mentioned, which was a lot. Overall, it’s still a 4 star read, and I’m excited to see how everything wraps up!
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for sending this ALC for review consideration. All opinions are my own. Publication date is set for March 4, 2025.
I adore this installment of the tomes and tea series🥰. The narrator was excellent. Ki has returned with her puns at the ready and I enjoyed EVERY SINGLE ONE! As well as the nervous knitting 🧶 projects. Personally I would wear a new knitted hat EVERY SINGLE DAY.
The replacement queen has come into play and once again the shenanigans are afoot. Will ki and Rei free themselves and the land from the highly toxic and ethically questionable rule of the current queen?
Love it is an understatement.
This is the third book in the series so if you haven’t read the other two, please read those before you read this. These are the middle of a book for me. They’re not good. They’re not bad. They’re just there. I’m blessed to be able to read it.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for this ARC!!
Once again, Jessica Threet does an amazing job with her storytelling voice and not only expressing all the emotion but also the jokes, jabs, PUNS, and she absolutely delivered each scene. Absolutely amazing narrator!!
I really enjoyed book 3 of this series! Sometimes when books get released this close together and are continuing on and on, they get boring, or I find myself just wanting to know how it ends. I can happily say that Rebecca Thorne's books are NOT like that and I want to live in this universe forever. I really liked the political intrigue this book brought, as well as, of course, the BABY DRAGONS!! I love how many characters we have met a long the way in this adventure and how they all came together in this book. I enjoyed the wedding planning hecticness (totally relatable) and also how loving Kianthe and Reyna are. Totally perfect cozy book.
I thought this was the end....but with THE ENDING MRS. THORNE I GUESS YOU OWE US ONE MORE HUH???
Cannot wait for #4!!! :)
Thank you NetGalley for this book in exchange for an honest review

This series has easily become one of my favorites and I can’t wait for the next (and sadly last) book to come out. It is a nice blend of cozy vibes and fantasy adventure. I enjoyed listening to every minute of it.
This book was as good or better than the last! I loved being in this world again. This was fast paced and I could not put it down. This is the third book in the series, you would enjoy this book more if you read the first two before reading this one. I loved the continued character development and the fact that there are baby dragons just hanging around! I can't wait for the final book in the series!
I’ve read each instalment of Tomes and Tea so far with average enjoyment. Felt cozy, enjoyed the bits of excitement, but not necessarily something I adored. This instalment was different. I can honestly say I loved this book!
I loved the dragons and griffons and their involvement in the story. Not many books show the babies and I thought it was really special. I also really appreciated the new characters that were brought in with this one. I especially enjoyed the evolution of Kianthe and her parents.
I also really loved the plot of this one. I was worried it would be too mushy given the title, but I loved the treason that was afoot and all the adventures they had as they prepared for the wedding. It was the perfect blend of relationship and character development and plot.
Overall this was definitely a great book and I recommend it if you enjoy a cozy fantasy with a bit of peril.
This book is a high fantasy with low stakes. I love seeing how these two characters have grown over the three books. The narrator is great at using different accents for the characters that are from around the continent in this world. The book did end on a cliff note which is not my favorite but there has to be a way to continue the story.
Tea You at the Altar brings us back to Kianthe and Reyna as they work tirelessly to ensure their plans go off without a hitch. But, as expected in their world, things quickly spiral out of control with baby dragons, estranged parents, childhood friends, missing heirs, pirates, and political intrigue—all adding a delightful layer of chaos.
Much like the first book, Tea You at the Altar maintains a cosy, character-driven pace. This is perfect for those of us who cherish spending time with these beloved characters in their everyday lives. While I’m always happy to indulge in their small, quiet moments, I know some readers might crave more action. That said, the sense of found family among the characters from the previous books remains as strong as ever, and it’s a joy to reunite with them as they work toward their ambitious goals. I also loved meeting some of the new faces and am eager to see how they’ll play into the next instalment.
Speaking of which, just when you think the story is winding down toward a satisfying conclusion, Tea You at the Altar delivers a massive cliffhanger that will leave you desperate for book 4. While I can't wait to see how everything unfolds, I'm also bittersweet knowing that the series will soon come to a close. It’s hard to imagine ever having enough of these characters!
If you’ve enjoyed the previous books, you’ll absolutely love this one. It’s filled with more of the heartwarming characters, adorable animal companions, delightful queer representation, and the chaotic antics that make this series so special. And of course, no Tomes and Tea book would be complete without plenty of puns. I thoroughly enjoyed this latest instalment and can’t wait for more!
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley!

4.5 stars
Another flawless book from Rebecca Thorne! Tomes and Tea is one of my absolute favorite sapphic series and I am so excited for the third book! I received a copy of the third book for an honest review but I have loved this series since I picked up the first book ages ago.
Tea You at the Altar continues with Kianthe and Reyna's adventure but takes a bit of an unexpected twist. It is time for their wedding but not only are they getting married but they are planning to overthrow a Queen between vows and cake. This installment brings all the cozy adventures and amazing characters I loved from the first books and introduces us to many new ones.
✨queerness & characters✨
As always there is a ton of queer characters! The main romance is sapphic but there is MM, NB/M, and FF pairings along with a bunch of other queer characters. I loved that we were introduced to a new ace character and think the rep of gender is so amazing for some of the nb characters.
I am also so glad some of my favorite characters returned for the wedding. Most were just quick cameos but we got more of Dreggs and a bunch of development for the new characters Tessa and James.
✨the vibes✨
Following the other books, this is a PERFECT cozy adventure. The action/plot is just prevalent enough to keep it interesting but it doesn't overshadow the cozy and relaxing vibes. This really is the perfect series for a fun, quick read. Cannot recommend it enough!
✨the audiobook✨
I might have found a new fav narraotor because I loved the audiobook of this! I read the first two physical and decided to give the audiobook a try for the thrid book. I am so glad that I did! I listen to my books 2x speed and can be picky about narrators but they did such a good job. The different character voices where unique but not overall done and I was easily able to distinguish them form each other with such a large cast. Def give the audiobooks a try!
Kianthe and Reyna are back in their newest adventure and this time they are getting ready to walk down the aisle. Between dealing with baby dragons, pirates and Kianthe's parents attending the wedding, the two must also work together with their friends both new and old to overthrow Queen Tilaine. Will their plan work in order to say, "I do"?
The Tomes & Tea series has quickly become one of my favorite cozy fantasy series. The characters are fantastic, and I am always captivated by Reyna and Kianthe's adventures. I originally thought that this was the final book in the series, but the cliffhanger that had me jumping out of my seat proved me wrong. I will be anxiously waiting for the final book in this series to listen to the epic conclusion.
Tea You at the Alter is out March 4th.
Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the opportunity to review Tea You at the Alter. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
How does she think of these puns!? Tea You at the Altar brings readers back together to get ready for the most exciting wedding that Tawney has ever seen. There might be a little treason along the way.
The majority of this book takes place over seven days. We get to revisit some of our favorite characters from the first two books and are introduced to new ones like Kianthe’s parents. I enjoyed the story but felt as if it could have been exponentially shorter. I’m not sure I would have finished it if I was not listening to the audiobook. I found myself wondering when anything was going to happen. Even for a cozy read I found myself feeling like there was so much filler.
I still adore the relationship between Kianthe and Reyna. You can feel how much they care for each other in the words that Rebecca Thorne writes.
And Holy Cliffhanger!! I’m not sure if I will read the conclusion unless given an another EARC, but lovers of this series will be waiting very impatiently!
Thank you to Rebecca Thorne, NetGalley, and Macmillan Audio for this ebook
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5
Tea You at the Altar is the sweet, adventurous, and wonderfully cozy third book in the Tomes & Tea quartet that captivated me from the start.
Gosh, I love this series. The characters are so much fun and well-developed. I love Kianthe and Reyna’s darling romance so much, and their strength and love are lovely to read about. The settings and world-building are always entertaining, and I enjoyed returning to familiar places and characters. Rebecca’s prose was engaging and beautiful. The story’s pacing was wonderful, and the characters were funny. This book feels like a cup of warm tea and provides a cozy, warm, and hopeful adventure. I am so excited for the fourth book!
Jessica Threet has done it again. Jessica is a phenomenal narrator, especially for this series. Her voice and accents perfectly fit the characters and story, and her performance made the story even more entertaining. I highly recommend listening to the audiobooks of the Tomes & Tea series!
Thank you to the publisher for the free ALC!
Another cute story in this series! This was a good one in the series, but again not very cozy, in fact more high stakes than the others. There are some fun moments and I do enjoy some good puns!
The concept begs to be cute and cozy, but it’s plotting the demise of royalty is not something that feels right in the realm of this genre. I think I would enjoy this series so much more if it were just marketed as a fun fantasy.
The audiobook was incredible and the narrator does a great job at bringing everything to life. Her delivery was well done for many jokes and nuances of the characters.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review!
