Wasn’t able to read this one digitally but I did get a physical copy of the book so will be reviewing it after I’ve read it. I’m really excited for it as I’ve only heard great things about it.

This book was a quick read with some twists and turns. It felt repetitive and rushed and I would have liked more from the characters. I don't enjoy books that feel like I'm just rereading the same thing.

I wanted to love this one but unfortunately it was a bit too far fetched for me. It was repetitive at times, and I struggled to connect to the characters. Please give it a try yourself as you may find you really like it.

This is definitely a thriller, filled with tension, unease, and unexplained events. It’s also short and fairly punchy. There’s not a lot of extraneous plot lines and the story moves along at a good pace. With just enough misdirection and a somewhat impetuous and clueless protagonist, the story also tosses out a few curveballs.

There are misunderstood events and some mysterious characters, with a vast majority of the story taking place in an old apartment building in New York City. Fair warning, it can also seem a bit gruesome too. But, if you enjoy a story with some unexpected twists as well as some twisted characters, you’ll enjoy The Apartment Across the Hall. It was 3.5 stars for me. NetGalley provided an advance reader copy.

A little predictable but not completely and very suspenseful. This is the first book I have read by this author and I would definitely seek out others.

I finished this book in one sitting and honestly feel as though I have whiplash from the twist. This is by far, my favorite book of the year.

Tense and a little dark, I read this in one sitting because I needed to know what was going on. And even when I thought I did, I didn't!! I love the authors writing style and was captivated by this one.

This short psychological thriller had me hooked from page one.! It is a true page turner in the classic sense. No difficult language or confusing changes of view or time period. Just a straight forward thriller. Told mostly by the protagonist Salem Ridley, a young woman who’s been having a rough time finding an affordable apartment. Her friend Derek hooks her up with a small, affordable studio and she thinks she has it made. A older resident tells her “you shouldn’t be here” an omen she chooses to ignore. Things turn dark right away including her tall, handsome neighbor Victor. She meets him in the laundry room with a shirt covered in blood. Who should she trust? What’s going on? I read this book in one sitting. It is a fun, fast book with a good amount of escapism. Perfect for in between longer more complicated books.

This book gave me all the creepy and eerie feels and I loved it. I wasn't sure what was going on, with all the women going into the apartment but then never seeming to leave. Something strange and sinister is obviously going on and I was hooked as I was reading, determined to find out what was happening. I recommend this book.

This is different.

I was very curious about what exactly was happening in this strange apartment building and I very much did not like the answer to it all.

The plot was a little thin, our main character wasn't terribly clever, and the reasons behind everything kind of stretched belief a bit.

That being said, it was definitely suspenseful. It just wasn't quite for me.

The Apartment Across The Hall was a quick, easy to read thriller. From the beginning it kept me interested and wanting to read more to figure out what was happening in Salem's New apartment building. The book has suspense and mystery and was a fast paced read. I think the plot twist was unique, and not just a 'murderer next door.' You never know who your neighbors are!

This was a really well done psychological thriller novel, it had that element that I was looking for and was on the edge of my seat when reading this. The characters worked well overall and was glad they felt like they were supposed to in this world. Jack Dane has a strong writing style and am excited for more.

Wow! I was approved for this book just this afternoon and read it in one sitting it was that good! It grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go until the end! So many twists and turns! Very exciting thriller!

this is gonna be bit of a spoiler alert on some parts, feel free to flag it

Not huge on leaving bad reviews, I Know a lot of time and work goes into these books but this one was just a slower read for me, wasn't all bad it was just too repetitive, Salem was quite boring but I mean what's a girl to do with broke & trapped in her apartment (at least that part was realis! tic lol), Derek was predictably an a hole (duh). I think this could have been more exciting when she was trying to figure out what was going on she could have been riskier, She could have broke into the supers room!? still can't figure out why that didn't happen, maybe followed Claire a bit before approaching her, see what her day to day was like, maybe got a taste for her personality before we just got smacked in the face at the end with it that, obviously it would have been faked either way, I just needed more of the action rather than the sitting lonely in the apartment doing data entry and watching victor drag girls back and forth ya know. Maybe she could have met a few more residents to bring in more mystery that way. I did love Salem's clever thinking at the end though!!
But i got through it and i will give it a 4 for effort

What a read!! This book had me hooked from the beginning and the ending was nothing like I expected! For a long while I didn't know if I could trust Salem (the MC), I thought she was weak and actually thought the whole thing was BOGUS. I still want to know all about her past and felt like that would have made this thriller even more thrilling. There has to be another book. I need to know more. This read was definitely worth it.
