My favorite team of Jedi are back together and on a new mission to capture a nameless for the Republic and Jedi to study to finally confront the Nihil on a level playing field. Any novel with Ram in it... is an auto favorite for me. I could read about this little band of rebels all day, everyday. Of course, I always adore Kildo and Tep Tep. I loved that Tep Tep had a moment to shine in this novel too.
Okay. Okay. I need to start with what I love the MOST first this time. THERE"S A GOOD HUTT in this delightfully adventurous middle grade Jedi adventure. Churo (adore the name) the Hutt is one of a kind among his gangster kin. He likes to garden and work with his bugs and he's a vegetarian! I think this is a twist I never saw coming for this series. I am here for more Churo the Hutt and his bravery to get out of the family business. I can't help, but like Churo's sister too.
Zenny was a new character in this series and I liked her spunk and her sister Lexi was another great character add.
Overall, I highly recommend this novel and I LOVE all the new characters.

Like many of the third phase books in The High Republic series, I've struggled with them for the majority of the length of the story. Just like the others in this phase, they are often saved by final third act reveals or setups for the future installments in the franchise. As we come to a close, this isn't the ideal situation for me, but there is enough in this book and in the final act is strong enough for me to give this a positive review.
