I really wasn’t ready to give up the characters from “The Maid”. Nita Prose did such a great job of telling Grans past all the while Molly gets into her usual accidental mischief. It was such an easy read because I couldn’t wait to find out the secrets Gran has been keeping all this time and of course there is a twist that I didn’t see coming that Molly figures out herself again! Between the one liners and the fairytale wedding we’ve all been waiting for Nita has done it again! Mr. Preston does a great job of reminding us love is all that matter and exactly who the “good eggs” are.
Thank you Nita Prose and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for granting me access to review this ARC prior to release in exchange for my honest review.
4/5 stars

What a fabulous return to The Regency Grand Hotel! The Maids Secret was just the perfect blend of humour and mystery (It is definitely full of its share of heartwarming and sad moments too - i may have cried at one point)
I have loved both books in the Molly The Maid series and i loved this one even more! It was so interesting to read about Floras early life and her fall from wealth. It was also heartbreaking to read her love story with John, they deserved so much better and my heart broke for them.
Overall this was such a great read, anyone who loves Molly The Maid will absolutely adore this book!

Great continuation of the series! If you enjoyed the first two, you’re sure to love this one! The friendship, love story, and heist all created such a heartwarming read!

Molly the maid is excited to have some of her late Gran's trinkets appraised when an antiques show is being filmed at her hotel. When one of these items turns out to be quite valuable, it causes a frenzy that turns Molly's life upside down. With the discovery of her beloved Gran's diary, Molly learns secrets about her past and what truly matters in life.
I thoroughly enjoyed the latest mystery in the series and learning more about Molly's origin story. I found the alternating timelines easy to follow and really added necessary depth to this story. I laughed at loud at Molly's attempts to communicate with a newly hired gen-z employee, and I was ecstatic when Detective Stark made her appearance. Molly's support system is stronger than ever in this latest novel, and the ending was quite heartwarming.
I fell in love with Molly - the quirky, unlikely heroine - in The Maid, and have continued to root for her with Nita Prose's subsequent novels. I hope this series continues and we get to watch Molly build her confidence and grow!
Thank you so much Ballantine Books and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review. I couldn't put this one down!

Molly the maid is back again to help unravel another mystery in the hotel she lovingly cleans each day. After discovering a beloved trinket is actually a highly valuable piece of art Molly’s life becomes whirlwind of media, fame and soon to be millions. When the item goes missing during auction, Molly takes it upon herself (with the help of a usual crew of friends/colleagues) to uncover the truth of its disappearance.
Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine Books for this digital arc in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
Sadly, I felt this book really puts the nail in the coffin of the Molly the Maid series and was challenging for me to even want to finish it. It follows the same format of the other 2 books (and one novella) in which some crime occurs within the hotel and Molly, despite her lack of understanding of social nuances, helps to solve the puzzle. You know from the start the shape of the story even if the details are different. It was nice to get her gran’s life story a bit but it wasn’t enough to save this book. I was able to determine what might be going on (or at least who was involved) very early on and it felt like the story dragged to get there. I appreciate that Molly is a neurospicy character since we so rarely see this representation in books. However, it would not be very clear to a reader if this is the first book on the series they read and it can make her appear very dull without context.

It's another excellent addition to the Maid series.
In this installment, we gain further insight into Gran's upbringing and the events that shaped her life, highlighting her selfless acts to protect not only John but also her entire family.
Gran wrote a diary for Molly so she could learn about Gran's history and everything that happened. She shared about her engagement to the wrong guy, who was an absolutely horrid person. Gran received a Fabergé egg as an engagement present from him, and when she left her childhood home, she took it with her. Eventually, the egg ended up with Molly. This is the same Fabergé egg that Molly was trying to sell with a TV crew and an antiques show when it mysteriously disappeared, sparking the mystery with twists and turns.
This installment was an outstanding addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Gran better and gaining deeper insight into Molly's upbringing. The mystery was gripping, and I truly appreciated Juan's care and attention towards Molly throughout the book. I am eagerly anticipating the next installment; this one was an absolute delight!
Thank you Netgalley and Ballantine Books for the opportunity to read and review this one!

Molly the maid is back! Two wonderful events are about to happen to Molly. First, she is marrying her love Jaun Manuel. Second, as head of Special Events, the taping of a hit antiques show will take place in the hotel.. Molly brings in a few of her trinket including one from her grandmother, only to find that it is very valuable. She is overwhelmed with publicity, but decides to see the piece. The day of the auction it is stolen. In her grandmother's diary Molly finds out the true story of her beloved grandmother's past. No spoilers here on whodonit.

Molly the Maid is back again for another thrilling and heartfelt adventure. I highly recommend you read the previous books in this series to be able to develop that relationship with this quirky and lovable maid. Molly is purely black and white, what you see is what you get. She is very literal, and you better mean what you say and say what you do.
A beloved antiques appraisal show has setup camp at the hotel Molly works at, and alongside her fiance she takes a few items she thinks might be of value. One in particular? A Faberge egg, inlaid with gems and gold. There are many ups and downs, from the egg being stolen to being returned again, but to whom and why?
Alternating chapters reveal a heartbreaking yet tender look into her family's history, chronicling what happened and how this egg truly came to be. Trust me, this book will tug at your heartstrings and cause you to fall in love more and more with the charming Molly the Maid.

Oh how nice it is to dive back into Molly the Maids life! This one dove more into her grandmothers background and added a little who dunnit mystery. Although this was a much slower pace then the first two, I really enjoyed the POV from her Gran. It was two stories in one.
What I loved
Back story of gran & high society living
Molly - she's is one of my favorite characters ever
The supporting characters and their silly banter

Shout out to Molly the Maid for being such an easy feel good read. At this point, I’m committed to any Maid books by Nita Prose. I need to know anything that happens to Molly and Juan.
Molly’s golden huevo (faberge egg) is discovered to be worth millions of dollars on an auction show. But when it goes missing, so does her money and fifteen minutes of fame. Looking for the egg, Molly uncovered her Gran’s old diary and a lot of family history.
As always, there is thriller aspects to this book but in a sweet, loving, easy going way. This is a perfect cozy snowy weekend read. If you have read the rest of the Molly the Maid series, then definitely add this to your list.
Thank you to Netgalley and Ballantine books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose hits shelves on April 8, 2025.

The endearing and brave Molly Gray is back in another installment at the Regency Grand Hotel and she never disappoints! This book was slightly different than the previous, not only in the mystery, but also in how the story is told. In The Maid’s Secret, we learn more from Gran and her past in the format of her diary, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to understand her past and the circumstances that occurred that bring us to present day Molly. Gran’s chapters were definitely more compelling to me and I did find myself slightly bored with Molly’s chapters which surprised me a lot since the first two books (and novella) was so much more fun to read through Molly’s Perspective. I think the mystery of Gran has just been talked about so much in the previous books that I couldn’t get enough of her chapters. This book however will not disappoint those who love Molly and all of the characters at the Regency Grand. I believe this is the final installment of the series, but wouldn’t be upset at all if another book came out because Molly is just one of those characters that you can’t help but love and cheer for.
Thank you to the publisher for an early copy to read and review. The Maid’s Secret releases on 4/8/25.

Molly the Maid is back! She and Juan Manuel are newly engaged, and planning their wedding. Molly has been promoted to Special Events Manager, and is working on preparations for the reality TV show Hidden Treasures to film an episode of their antiques appraisal program at the hotel. In true Molly fashion, things don’t go as smoothly as planned.
The story is told from alternating POVs. Molly in the current timeline, and the past timeline told through Gran’s diary entries.
I really loved learning more about Gran’s background, including her upbringing and even a forbidden love story.
I really enjoyed the mystery in this book, it was a slower in the middle, but picked up at the end. I always love how the author writes the characters in this series.
Overall, this is another great addition to the charming Molly the Maid series. I absolutely loved this story, and hope there are more to come!
Thank you to Random House-Ballantine for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I absolutely love the Molly Gray (Molly the Maid) series. Molly is an unlikely heroine. In this 3rd installment the story shifts between the past and present and the reader learns more about Molly’s grandmother’s life.
I would recommend starting with the first 2 books in the series (there are 2 preceding) in order to better understand Molly, and her special bond with her grandmother.
Thanks to Netgear for the ARC.

This was just as fun and adorable as the other books in the Molly the Maid series! In this story, we learn about Gran and her background/history, via a diary that she filled out for Molly to read. This was my favorite part of the story. We also have an Antiques Roadshow type situation, where Molly brings some of her belongings and finds out one item is worth a fortune. Super fun read!

Might be my new favorite of this series - Nita Pride does it again with our favorite characters and even some new faces. When Molly finds out a sentimental item is actually worth a fortune, she barely has time to imagine the money it could be worth as the item goes missing. I love how this story wove the past and present seamlessly. This is one not to miss!

2 stars ⭐️⭐️ DNF
Ugh I hate to say it but I didn’t like this book. I have read the others they also weren’t my favorite. This one is no different. I ended up DNFing it about 40% through. Just not for me unfortunately

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The novel is a fun read with a predictable ending.

I was very happy to be able to read another one of Nita Prose’s books, and as an ARC I was over the moon. I really always enjoy these books. Now, I normally have a harder time getting into these books as she is very descriptive in her writing, which adds to the book, I just have a hard time being able to digest it quickly. All in all I really like the letters to and from Gran to Molly. I thought it was very sweet and added to the plot. I liked how it was a play on a timeline that isn't seen that often. All in all very good 4/5 ⭐️
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a good addition to this series! I really enjoyed the alternating chapters between what is currently happening in Molly’s life and her Gran’s diary. I did think the diary entries were more interesting to me than Molly’s perspective, but the way it all connected at the end was so perfectly done.
Thank you to Netgalley and Ballantine for the advanced copy!

The Maid's Secret

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I have read the entire series of this captivating short novels.
Together with her friends, Molly combs the past and the present to catch the thief before looming threats against her become real.
A spirited heist caper and an epic love story, The Maid’s Secret is a spellbinding whodunnit that will capture and warm your heart.
I highly recommend the latest edition to this series.
This series of cozy mysteries is so heartwarming and fun. Molly is a joy and one of my favorite characters. This book is interspersed with pages of her gran’s diary, which leads the reader to an understanding of why Molly is so caring and smart, and where exactly this heirloom Faberge egg came from. This could be read as a stand-alone but you’d do yourself a real favor if you read the series together.
