Wow, this had me on an awesome ride! Nicole Severn definitely has a winner here! I truly loved Leigh's strong character. Leigh is a FBI agent specializing in criminal psychology. She studied under Dr. Morrow and he took her under his wing.
The murderer they are trying to find has killed before eighteen years before to be precise. Then it was Then Robotic and now it is Alice Dietz. Both murders occurring at Durham, New Hampshire the college and agent Leigh Brody's alma mater. She, of course, has been called in to investigate. After all eighteen years ago she was the alibi for the leading man that everyone thought it was. He ran as fast as he could as soon as he could. Even though Leigh was very much in love with him.
As she goes back to Durham to investigate she sets her adopted daughter Ava up in a near by hotel. Once she gets there she first meets up with Marshall Max Ford. He will be her new partner on the case. She keeps getting this warm feeling like she can really trust him so she does.
My question to you should she trust her instincts or her investigation skills? Which would you rely on?
What a fantastic read and wow what an ending! Thanks for the ride this one took me on!
Happy reading!!

The Killer She Knew by Nichole Severn is a tense, fast-paced thriller. This is the third book in the Agent Leigh Brody series but it can be read as a standalone. When Leigh is called to a crime scene at her alma mater, the University of New Hampshire, she realizes that this murder has the same MO as a previous murder 18 years earlier when she was a student. At that time the main suspect was Dean Groves, Leigh's boyfriend. Even though Dean had a connection to the victim, Leigh gave him an alibi for that night. Now she fears that Dean is back leaving more bodies in his wake. Teamed up with US Marshal Max Ford, Leigh must get to the bottom of why this young girl is dead. When a hurricane threatens to destroy the evidence and crime scene, Leigh is racing against the clock. But when more bodies start to show up, not to mention being locked down at the college, she realizes that the killer is locked in as well.
This was an intense storyline! The tension of the storm and being locked in with a killer made each chapter more intriguing. I did figure out the main reveal early on in the book but I was still racing to read the rest to put it all together. I will definitely go back and read the first two books in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley, Nichole Severn, and Storm Publishing for this ARC. Expected release date is February 14th 2025.

I absolutely loved this book! There’s something about a locked room style story that just makes the reading so much more intense. Add a natural disaster and it really makes the tension rise! I actually liked this one better than the last one because we got more of a taste of what makes Leigh tick. It wasn’t just her being Ava’s adopted mom. It was also the extra backstory on her that we never got before. I had no idea any of this stuff after her dad’s arrest happened, which made it so great. The marriage between her past and her present truly made this a page turning story. It’s interesting to see Leigh finally doing something for herself. I am curious if this series is just slated to be a trilogy or if it will continue. I can see it being tied up after this, but I feel like Leigh has so many more stories for us. If so, I will absolutely be there to read them!
Huge thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for sending me this ARC for review! All of my reviews are given honestly!

This is the third book in the series and I have to say they get better and better Leigh Brody is once again facing a killer and this time it is at her old school. One woman is dead and another is missing with all communication dead due to a hurricane can Leigh save the missing one and does this tie back to her own past.
This entire series is for the true crime/suspense enthusiast as Nichole is a true artist at building suspense and dropping crumbs to have you totally enthralled in the storyline and a warning make sure you allow plenty of time when you start her books because I guarantee you won't want to be interrupted until you turn that last page

This is the 3rd book in the Leigh Brody FBI Mystery Series and is absolutely gripping! I've read the first two books in the series but this can be read as a stand a lone.
Pro's: It's a heart pounding action packed thriller.
Con's: FBI agent Leigh Brody at times didn't seem very professional while doing her job. There were so many clues she should have seen to figure out who the killer was in real I believe in real life circumstances she wouldn't have missed them.
Synopsis: The girl’s blonde hair fans across the ground like a halo, her soft brown eyes staring blankly up at the stormy sky. Leigh’s heart beats painfully in her chest as she takes in the scene. Is this her fault? Could she have saved this girl?
Many thanks to #TheKillerSheKnew #NetGalley & #StormPublishing for providing me with an E-ARC of this book.

4⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced copy of The Killer She Knew.
Leigh is still recovering from her last case and trying to find her place with her new adopted teenage daughter when a case comes her way that mirrors a murder that occurred when she was in college. She knows now is not the best time to take on a case but this one feels personal. Has her ex boyfriend Dean who was the main suspect of the murder that happened while they were in college resurfaced after all these years. Or is someone trying to copycat the previous crime? When she arrives to the crime scene during an impending storm she has no idea how much danger is waiting for her.
This book is so good-the whole series is a wonderful read. I loved the plot and the characters. I did not see the twist coming! It was great!

A great fast-paced thriller that kept me gripped. Lots of heart-pounding action, but some of it was just a bit too over-the-top for me! I know we have to suspend belief sometimes but how FBI Agent Leigh Brody survived what she went through I’ll never know! The twist at the end was a surprise although I had my suspicions earlier. Altogether a fabulous read (even though I can’t warm to Ava at all). Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the early copy.

easy read. enjoyed the plot. would read others by author. few spelling errors. would recommend. I did like how you figure out who the killer is. had a slight feeling who is was..

As a hurricane rages outside, Leigh of the BAU is inside her Alma Mater called back to investigate a murder eerily reminiscent of a murder that she was involved in 18 years ago at the same college.
Fast paced with tension filled pages, this suspenseful thriller has twists and turns with multiple murders and a hidden devious killer.
Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for an early copy. This review is my honest opinion.

I love this author's writing and her character FBI Agent Leigh Brody. Lots of bread crumbs dropping so you think you're working it out but it can't be...right?
Agent Brody is a brilliant crime solving beast, she sees patterns and gets inside the criminals head, much to the fear of a few people she's worked with.
A murder, the body set up the same as a crime from when she was in college? Could they be connected after nearly 2 decades? Was she actually walking into a trap? A storm has students, staff and cops locked in the college out of danger, but is the killer walking amongst them or right under their noses?
What a wonderful story as the ending races closer as people are in danger fighting for their lives.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of The Killer She Knew through NetGalley. This story is an Outstanding Suspense . It definitely had everything that makes an unforgettable read . Suspenseful and so heart pounding action . A truly intense
story . This is the third book in this series and all are amazing . FBI Agent Leigh Brody is called to the college she attended eighteen years ago to a murder . This murder is just like the one back then . She realizes this could be a return of the killer that disappeared . Also the man she thought she knew . As she works to solve and catch the killer a hurricane takes out all communication and all things are not as they seem . Definitely a must read . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Leigh gave her boyfriend an alibi for a murder he was suspected of, 18 years later now an FBI agent Leigh is called to a murder at her old school was it her old boyfriend, has he resurfaced. Lots of twist to make your head spin. Plenty of action in this well plotted story unputdownable Thanks to Storm publishing and Netgalley for this review ARC.

"The Killer She Knew" by Nichole Severn is a thrilling 5-star read! FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit agent Leigh Brody returns in the third installment of this gripping series. She is called back to a crime scene that eerily resembles one from her college days, only to find herself caught in a dangerous game with a killer—while also braving an incoming storm.
This was an intense and fast-paced story. Most of it is told from Leigh’s perspective, whether in the present or through flashbacks to her college years. I enjoyed this installment even more than the previous two. While the twist wasn’t entirely surprising, as the story leads you in that direction, it was still satisfying. The only thing I didn’t love was Ava’s behavior—I felt her attitude was a little over the top. That said, I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!
Thanks to Storm Publishing, Nichole Severn, and NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.

I absolutely love Agent Leigh Brody as a character with her complicated backstory and the mix of the obstacles she has to overcome in her personal and professional life. In this instalment, she's pulled into the case by a killer who got away with murder while Leigh was a student years earlier. The killer has replicated his first kill on campus to draw Leigh in for his own nefarious reasons. Add to the mix a hurricane with students and faculty sheltered in place along with Agent Leigh and Marshal Ford, and you have a locked room mystery delight. Fans of crime thrillers and police procedurals will enjoy this series.

Wow!
hard to review without spoiling it for others so suffice to say that edge of your seat, heart racing is a great description of how this book made me feel as I read! twists and turns, power outages and a storm to isolate you...nothing more is needed for a serious page turner of a book!

This was such an action packed and pulse rising thriller. Power being cut off added an extra layer of angst for the reader. A storm. A daughter in danger. And a past replaying itself...ticked all the eeeeeee trailer boxes right there!
I also loved the fact that a wrong decision of our detectives past meant she had an extra steak in the game. She was frightened but also guilt ridden with the help she offered her past boyfriend. Because what if he was guilty. What if he's killing again?

I’ve really enjoyed this one!!! At first, I couldn’t get the plot twist but then it hit me! I absolutely love this series and I hope there are more books about Leigh Brody and her found family!

Loved it. Fast paced and easy to follow.
Enough details during the story to allow the reader to come up with their own conclusion to the case, only to find out we had it all wrong.
Looking forward to another case.

So this picks up right were book two ended and we rejoin Leigh as she attempts to navigate the world as a working mother to her recently adopted teenage daughter Ava whilst continuing her career in the FBI.
Called into investigate a case with historical and unsolved links from her own Alma Marta days.
Now I have read the first two books in the series but there was something about this one that just fell short for me compared to the other two offerings.
I found myself getting frustrated at Leigh and her choices/ decisions both personally and professionally and I guessed the perpetrator from an early stage, for a high class profiler Leigh was blind sided an awful lot!

Leigh Brody is a FBI agent and years ago she protected a man from a murder, now another student has been murdered, in the same fashion as the first.
As she starts trying to solve the case she learns her past could also be catching up to her!! This book had an ending I did not expect but it was such a good reason and kept me guessing who was the one behind the deaths!!
Thank you net valley for the arc!!
