The third installment of Nichole Severn's Leigh Brody FBI Series has Leigh returning to her alma mater to help solve a murder that is identical to one that occurred when Leigh was a student. And, it's not just Leigh traveling to New Hampshire, she has her newly adopted, 15-year-old daughter, Ava, in tow... and Ava would rather be anywhere else than with Leigh. Working along side US Marshall, Max Ford, Leigh immediately notices the smiliarities to the murder committed years ago - one that she provided the alibi for. She lied to police, stating she was with Dean, to eliminate him as a suspect - and then he disappeared from her life. Leigh is certain that Dean is back on campus and murdering co-eds. She works with her former mentor, only to find he's not all she remembered him to be, and he becomes another victim. The story is told with flashbacks to Leigh and Dean's relationships intersperced with the duo trying to solve the current murders. Oh, and did I mention that the university is under a shelter-in-place notification due to the hurricane bearing down on them - and they have no power. This is such a fabulous series - I look forward to each and every book. A huge thank you to Storm Publishing for an advanced reader of this book - the opinions expressed are my own.

What a good read! Fast-paced, lots of action, unexpected murders, then some expected, I guessed who the murderer was, Leigh should have guessed sooner. Her fight skills are impressive! I like the realistic fight scene; there is no way a woman is going to win going toe to toe with a man who is in peak condition; that is reality, and I appreciate it being well-written; Leigh doesn't come off as being whipped; she comes out as a fighter! I appreciate being able to read this Arc, I enjoyed it immensely and can't wait until the next episode. I highly recommend it. Thank you #Nicole Severn #TheKillerSheKnew #Netgalley

I absolutely loved this one despite guessing everything from the beginningish but it’s my first time being right in this series so I’m truly stoked about it! This was super good and I love Leigh’s character so much.
I hope there’s a next one so we can go deeper into her and Deans relationship and also Ava’s.

Intense murder mystery - hurricane, no power, trapped together, and the body count rises. Great characters really make everything work, and many tense moments make it relentless. Great series! (And even if you guess something, you will still get some surprises!)

The girl’s blonde hair fans across the ground like a halo, her soft brown eyes staring blankly up at the stormy sky. Leigh’s heart beats painfully in her chest as she takes in the scene. Is this her fault, could she have saved this girl?! Great read! This book had great suspense, intriguing, murder, mystery, a good who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

When the body of twenty-one-year-old Alice Dietz is found in the courtyard of her alma mater, FBI agent Leigh Brody feels as though a nightmare has come to life. Eighteen years ago, another girl was killed in the same way as Alice. Has he resurfaced after all these years?
This was the third in the series of Leigh Brody, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the other two. Leigh teaming up with FBI Agent Ford added to the mystique (and the romance) as they solved the case together at Leigh’s alma mater. I am anxious to read the fourth book in the series!
