Oh, Rita how I have missed you! This is the third book of the series that features Detective Rita Myers and I enjoyed this book as much as I did the others. Rita is a character I would want as a friend. She’s authentic, intelligent, and empathetic with a witty sense of humor. I enjoy her thoughts and perspective as the story develops. Once again, Terri Paralto delivers an intense, suspenseful, gripping mystery that pulled me in immediately. I look forward to future books by this author. The narrators masterfully brought the characters to life while adding a layer of intrigue and emotion. Thank you, NetGalley and RB Media for my audiobook.

binged this Audio as soon as I got it! I loved it. Rita was a fun cop, very sharp and no-nonsense and I love that. The narrator for Eve sometimes threw me off because her voices for other characters were a little too similar to her Eve voice so I'd get lost on who was speaking occasionally. The beginning was a slow go with a LOT of telling me things, but once it got going I couldn't put it down.

This book was 100% 5 stars! The POV was top notch. I am a fan of the different POVs and this one did not disappoint. It was a suspenseful read with intricate character dynamics and twist that you did not see coming!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC opportunity!
Wow. This one really kept me on my toes for most of the story. There were about 3 different people i expected it to be but i didnt see the twist coming at all. Wasnt even on my radar.
I thought the 3 POV was perfect because it gave more understanding to the working of the case.
This was a phenomenal thriller and had great pacing as well!

Thank you RB Media | Recorded Books & Terri Parlato for this listen!
This book is the third in a detective series BUT I read this as a standalone and really enjoyed it. I feel I didn't miss any information - I assume reading the series just brings the characters even more to life.
This book is a classic whodunit police procedural. It's a solid crime thriller that has some shocking revelations and well developed characters. I can understand why people would be invested in the series!
The pace is a slower pace in some areas, but it makes it more realistic.
The audiobook was well done with multiple narrators who brought the characters alive.
Overall this was an enjoyable read! It seems those craving a crime series with well developed characters and twisty reads will enjoy this
3.5/5

“Watch Your Back” by Terri Parlato sucked me right into the story, which I listened to within a day. :)
Nick Mills, Christina Moore, and Rebecca Quinn Robertson did a fantastic job narrating and bring the characters to life.
This book happens to be the third story of Detective Rita Myers, but can also be read as a stand alone book. I will definitely be going back and reading the first two books in the Haven Rock series.
** Thank you NetGalley, RBmedia, and Terri Parlato for an eARC of “Watch your back”.

Psychiatrist Eve Thayer and her husband Nathan Little face their worst nightmare when their baby daughter disappears from her crib. The baby is found safe, but after that, their lives only get more difficult. Detective Rita Myers is on their case and it just keeps getting more complicated and dangerous.
Wow, this book was so unsettling and eerie. The mystery of who is out to harm Eva's family and friends was somewhat predictable, but there were still plenty of unexpected twists. I really liked Eva and Rita. I had no idea that this was third in a series starring the detective, so I was a bit confused by her story line, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the book overall.
I listened to the whole audiobook in a day because it was just that good. The narrators were awesome. Christina Moore, the voice of Rita, is one that I recognized from a previous book (The Flower Sisters by Michelle Collins Anderson), and I just love the richness of her voice.

3.5 stars
Such a gripping story, with this cleverly plotted domestic thriller, told through multiple perspectives – the wife (Eve), the husband (Nathan), the investigating detective (Rita Myers).
The narrative is filled with secrets that require unravelling and an effective use of red herrings, which left me guessing right until the end.
I appreciate that each of the three characters was narrated by a separate person - Nick Mills; Christina Moore; Rebecca Quinn Robertson, as this added to the storytelling and offered an enjoyable audiobook experience. Each narrator represented their character well, so that I was absorbed into the story.
With thanks to RBmedia and NetGalley, for the listening review copy, for review consideration with a honest review.
This is a great audiobook if you enjoy suspenseful thrillers filled with suspicious characters and some light police procedural elements.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the how mental health was shown in a realistic way and not fabricated for the use of the story. The multiple POV’s really pulled the story together so that we could see it from all sides and it helped to keep us guessing on who was to blame. The narrator also did well with the voices she gave each character and kept it consistent and easy to tell the difference between each character. Overall a very enjoyable story and definitely worth a listen. My only criticism of this book is that the baby’s name changed multiple times through out the book from Rosemary to Rosalie to Rosewood. So I feel it would benefit from it being changed to just one of the names for the sake of consistency.

Where has Rita Meyers been my whole life? This was awesome! Told through multiple POVs, Rita, Eve, and Nathan tell an intriguing story of love and loss. When Eve and Nathan's baby suddenly disappears, Rita is the detective. Rita begins to work the clues, she leaves no clue left uninvestigated. The tension is so thick. The edge of your seat suspense provides an impressive narrative. I look forward to more of Detective Rita Meyers.
5 stars
The audiobook was phenomenal. The multiple narrators delivery is on point. Christina Moore, Rebecca Quinn Robertson and Nick Mills all do exceptional job. The production quality was top notch.
Thank you to RB Media for ALC.

Betrayal, lies, secrets, are deeply woven in this book. The intricacies of how far deep they go were astounding. I really enjoyed this domestic suspense and it had me guessing. I honestly didn't know who to believe and was a suspect. This one does go a bit into mental health, so just be aware of that. The seeing of patients and counseling them. I enjoyed this aspect of the story, because for me, I was questioning everyone as a possible suspect.
This was a quick and entertaining listen. The narrators, Christina Moore, Rebecca Quinn Robertson, and Nick Mills were good and kept me engaged. I feel like together they elevated the story. The story does have a slow pace, but I feel like its setting the story and for what's to come.

Watch Your Back is an engaging and well-crafted story told from the perspectives of three different characters. The plot is intriguing, and the storytelling is done exceptionally well, keeping me hooked from start to finish. The audio version was equally impressive—clear, believable, and easy to follow. I found myself fully immersed in the story, and it kept my attention throughout. This book is definitely worth the read, and I’ll be recommending it to the book club.

Thrilling and and a perfect addition for the 3rd installment for this series. The narration is great. I do love that you can read these as stand alones and nit feel lost.

So, Rita and the gang from Graybridge, a small Boston suburb, are all back for this third installment. This time, they’re working on a missing child case and trying to find the kidnapper. The book summary pretty much introduces the MC’s and the primary storyline. What the book summary doesn’t mention is pretty early in the story Eve and Nathan’s baby, Rosie, is kidnapped and Eve and Nathan’s marriage deteriorates even more than it already was before the kidnapping. None of this is a spoiler and it happens in the first 25% point.
The story flips back and forth between Eve, Nathan and Rita. Most of Rita’s case revolves around investigating Eve and Nathan and everyone in their life, including the creepy babysitter, Barbara. I like Rita, a divorced, child-free, middle aged, seasoned, former Boston cop who moved to the burbs a few years ago for a change of pace. She has a sort of friends with benefits thing going on with an FBI agent that she frets about making it anything more serious. She also has great taste in music too! I especially like her internal snarky attitude. We get to spend a lot of time in Rita’s head, which isn’t an unpleasant place to be. Reminds me a little of me, and my feelings about my dwindling family sphere and family drama as well as dealing with my aging body and surviving the backside of my career.
Anyway, there is a boatload of suspects and Rita starts discovering many of the secrets that many of them are hiding. It’s well into the second half that some of the storylines begin to collide. While I suspected who the kidnapper was as soon as a particular clue was discovered, the depths of the plot was a shocker when it exploded and the ending came in a flurry of intense and scary scenes. This was the best installment of the series so far!
The continuing character development of Rita dealing with her family drama and her “situationship” with Joe, an FBI agent she’s known for years was well done. Look forward to more of that. Would have liked to see more development on Rita and Chase’s partnership. Three installments in and Chase is still pretty much just a talking head once in a while. The pacing was steady to fast and the storyline interesting and intriguing. The writing was well done and, once again, I think it was the best installment so far. I’m looking at an overall rating of 4.2 that I will be rounding down to a 4star review. I want to thank NetGalley and RB Media for sending me this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wow. Just... wow. Watch Your Back is my first foray into Terri Parlato's literary world; let me tell you, it was an experience. I had What Waits in the Woods lounging in my TBR pile, sipping Bill Miller's bucket of iced tea with cross legs and one bouncing in an annoyance of my procrastination. After devouring this book, that one has been yanked towards the top!
Terri Parlato didn’t just pull out the stops with Watch Your Back; she ripped them clean off and flung them into the stratosphere. It's the third book in the series, which I was an alouf about. They can be read standalone, but they are in the world of Detective Rita Myers.
Also, the character development, mystery, plot, and twists had me glued to the pages like a cat following a laser beam. As a mystery connoisseur, you will see hidden clues sprinkled around, but some twists will throw a curve ball that had me gasping.
If you are new to mystery detective novels, Watch Your Back is a fantastic start!!

A BIG thank you to #NetGalley and RBmedia for sending me this ALC in exchange for my honest review!
This book is told from the point of view of 3 different people: Eve - the wife, Nathan - the husband, and Rita Myers - the detective. In this audiobook 3 different people are used to play these parts and I think it helps really add to the experience.
About this book: When Nathan and Eve met they had a very quick relationship and got married very quickly due to unexpected pregnancy, but they’ve made their lives work and settle into married life. Life seems pretty perfect until it isn’t.
Eve works as a psychiatrist and the stresses of work and long hours often keep her from being more at home with her husband and baby girl.
One day baby Rosewyn is kidnapped under the care of their trusted nanny, Barbara.
After this, Eve and Nathan’s “perfect” life seems to unravel after multiple horrible events/accidents keep occurring in their lives.
Detective Rita Myers is on the case and everyone is a suspect! Who is behind the kidnapping and all the other crimes?
My thoughts: Apparently this was the 3rd book in the Detective Rita Myers series, but this can totally be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed this book! It gripped me from the very start and it was fun to keep trying to guess “who did it?” I really love a mystery with a great twist and this one really got me. I literally couldn’t stop listening to this audiobook and finished it in one day! I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a great mystery!
Nick Mills; Christina Moore; Rebecca Quinn Robertson do a phenomenal job narrating this book and helping it come to life!
I give this book 4 stars.

Just finished this incredible read, and I’m still buzzing! This is my first Detective Rita Myers book but it won’t be my last. Rita’s character completely won me over. She’s such a strong, sharp cop, which isn’t something I usually vibe with in thrillers, but she was perfection.
The story of Eve and Nathan unravels at lightning speed, keeping pace with the high-stakes action. It’s been forever since a thriller kept me guessing this much. At one point, every single character felt like they could be the kidnapper, and I loved how that kept me hooked from start to finish.

ARC review - thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this copy!
To be honest I felt like DNFing this in the first few chapters but I’m glad I pulled through because it turned out quite interesting.
It’s definitely not the best book I’ve ever read but it was entertaining.
The beginning was pretty confusing because of all the different POVs but I got used to it. One thing that truly threw me off was how abruptly the chapters always ended idk why.
The story itself was engaging and the characters interesting. I like Rita the most and found the couple a bit annoying at times.
The entire reason all of this even happened fell a bit flat to me. It felt a bit unnecessary that the villain in this story went to such great lengths for their initial reason.
All in all it’s a decent thriller.

Watch Your Back by Terri Parlato was a 5 star mystery book. The narration by Nick Mills; Christina Moore; Rebecca Quinn Robertson kept me engaged. It was very clear which character was speaking and they truly kept it exciting with their excellent story telling.
Characters Eve and Nathan find themselves in the middle of real life marriage struggles until the unthinkable happens and then their lives spiral out of control. Are they out to get each other or is someone else out to get them. This book will keep you guessing as the story unfolds. Everyone is not who they seem leaving you wonder who can be trusted!
If you are a fan of mystery books with lots of twists and turns this book is for you. Zero spice, lots of interesting characters and enough twists to leave you second guessing yourself just when you think you have it figured out.
Thank you RBmedia for the opportunity to read and review this book. I look forward to other books by Terri Parlato as well as the great cast of narrators.

They had three narrators and they were outstanding. I stayed engaged through the whole book and enjoyed the detailed descriptions and changing voices helped me keep track of the characters.
It was a unique story line. There were several believable suspects. I thought I knew who it was but I did not guess the depth of it. Believable, twisted ending.
This is a personal opinion. I wasn’t interested in the side story of the detective. I wanted the story to focus on the littles. I kept getting the detectives brother and boyfriend confused. But that happens when I listen to the names instead of reading them. I can only keep track of around 5 names when listening.
I received this galley from NetGalley.
