This book was an absolute delight to read! It had everything I look for — engaging writing, memorable characters, and a story that stayed with me long after I turned the last page. The author’s voice is distinct and compelling, making it easy to get lost in the world they created, no matter the genre.

I'm incredibly grateful to the publisher for the early copy. It was such a joy to read this in advance, and I can’t wait for more readers to experience it. Highly recommend!

This is one swift and edgy ride (literally!). Delicious (maybe) antiheroine, high school settings, revenge and drama, what it is not to like?

Brooke, a highly competitive student, just got to Yale. High time to have a break from her studious year, her best friend Jenna says. There is a party and Brooke’s crush Dylan would be attending!
Brooke, who has a secret - she is being terrorized by a silent caller who has some kind of revenge on her, is unsure, but Dylan’s presence is a high motivator, so she goes. Her life is not to be shadowed by what has happened a year ago!
And the evening might be sweet, not for the memories and Claire’s brother. The dead Claire’s brother.

This is a good psychological thriller. I got some clues, but the twist was still unexpected. And the final twist, too!
And, what is not usually this way, the motivations of the characters were very logical when looking back!

After loving this author's first book "That's Not My Name", I was so excited to dive into this, and even more excited that I got the audiobook. Although this was a fun time, I struggled not to compare it to the first novel. So much of this book took place in just the car, and while I have read books that have done this successfully, I unfortunately did not think that this was one of them.

This review will be simple yet effective. I hope.

The author, Megan Lally wrote a very entertaining book. This was a fun book and fun ride. I listened to the audiobook. I highly recommend the audiobook if you like audiobooks but I suspect the actual book will be just as fun.

The narrator, Justis Bolding couldn't have done a better job. Audiobooks are either amazing, bla, or no way, where's the stop button. Justis Bolding was amazing.

Get yourself a copy of No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally and buckle up.

This was a super fast paced, thrilling book, which was set up perfectly for audiobook format. The narrator was great!

3.5 stars

I loved Megan Lally’s “That’s Not My Name” and was excited to receive an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

This story was very YA with a PLL vibe. I know it’s classified as a YA thriller, but it was more high school than I had anticipated based on Lally’s debut.

The book runs in dual timelines by retelling the night of the party when Claire died and the present, where Brooke’s dealing with an “I know what you did last summer” stalker.

I wasn’t wowed by the reveal, and actually figured out who was behind everything by about 2/3 through the book.

That said, I was engaged and found this to be a fun read. I’ll be watching for more of Megan Lally’s work!

While I didn't like this book as much as Megan Lally's last book, it was a solid thriller and kept me entertained. The Narrator did a good job and I am glad I listened to the audiobook.

Another great YA thriller by Megan Lally! This one drops us into some high school and family drama pretty immediately, with the main character Brooke, trying to make it into Yale, appease her high-achieving parents, and field the building threats from an anonymous caller/stalker. As the story builds, we see that Brooke’s past has some deep secrets, and all she wants is to get away. Without giving too much away, this thriller is exciting and angering on equal levels. As an audiobook it was perfectly narrated and made even more intense to listen to and be fully engaged. Thanks to NetGalley and RBmedia for the ALC in exchange for my honest feedback!

Brooke tries to paint the perfect image of herself to everyone with perfect grades, perfect looks, and a seemingly perfect life - especially after a classmate turns up dead and someone keeps suspecting Brooke was involved. After a party celebrating Brooke’s acceptance into her dream college someone begins to follow her through town, doing whatever it takes to get the truth about that night out of her.
This book is perfect for YA mystery readers or anyone that is just getting into the mystery/thriller genre. Most mystery books are predictable to me but I was not expecting the ending, or how everything played out in the end. This book definitely has a surprising twist! The narrator did a great job differentiating each character, adding personality to each dialogue.
The only complaint is that I wish the story line pacing was more even. There was a big emphasis on the high school drama in the beginning, and the last 30% of the book was where all the action takes place making the ending seem rushed.
Overall, this is a great mystery for YA readers and any lovers of a good mystery/thriller!

This is the second book I have listened to by Megan Lally. I had a great time listening to this book. This book was narrated by Justis Bolding. She definitely held my attention during this story. She did a great job with all the characters voices.

This book will take you on a wild ride literally. Brooke and her best friend are driving and find themselves in the middle of now where with no reception and a person chasing them in a car behind them. The person knows Brooke's secret and they want her to pay.

I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on. I had such a good time listening to this story and waiting to find out the full story at the end. Let me tell you the ending was a real SHOCKER!! I would definitely recommend this book.

Thank you RB Media, Recorded Books and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.

The story follows Brooke Goodwin, a high-achieving senior at Waldorf Prep, whose life revolves around maintaining a perfect student/daughter image. However, her world begins to spiral out of control after a tragic accident involving a former classmate.

Told through dual timelines—past and present—the narrative delves deeply into Brooke’s character and the secrets she keeps so closely guarded.

The narrator did a great job delivering this story. The clear enunciation made it enjoyable for listeners like me, especially since English is not my first language. I found myself fully immersed in listening to Brooke’s story.

At first, I felt sympathetic toward Brooke, but as the story unfolded, my feelings quickly shifted. I began to dislike her mindset and the way she perceived everything.
Although the plot was slightly predictable—I could guess where it was heading—I still appreciated the high-stakes drama and the intense tension that built up until justice was served.

Overall, this was an entertaining, fast-paced, and gripping YA thriller that explores themes of the price of perfection, privilege and power, and the consequences of maintaining a flawless image.

While it’s not as great as the author’s debut novel – That’s Not My Name, it was still compelling enough for me to finish in just one day.
I look forward to reading more of the author’s work in the future!

This is Megan Lally's second book and after reading her debut novel That's Not My Name and really enjoying it I knew that I had to pick this book up!

This follows Brooke, who has to keep up this imagine because of who her parents are. She has to have perfect grades, perfect clothes and just be perfect 24/7. One night there is a horrible 'accident' that taints the perfect view of Brooke and she wants to start fresh. She has stopped going to parties and has been living the straight and narrow. She is waiting to hear if she got into her dream school Yale and when she does her best friend Jena talks her into going to a party to celebrate. The problem is, someone is out for revenge over the supposed accident that happened the previous summer.

This book was exciting and fun and I couldn't wait to see who was trying to get revenge. I listened to this book on audio and definitely think that helped impact the experience in a good way. The narrator - Justis Bolding - did an amazing job. I loved the bouncing back and forth between Now and Then (the accident).

There are definitely a lot of twists in this book and some I did not see coming. The ending was definitely wrapped up nicely and I was happy with the ending. While this book is definitely more on the YA side, which I don't normally like, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

Read if you like:
-Dual now and then chapters
-Unhinged characters
-YA suspense
-Good atmosphere and tension
-Plot twists

Thank you @netgalley and RBmedia for the #gifted copy.

This felt like a blend of Scream and Pretty Little Liars to me. I really did enjoy this because of that mix. While listening to this I felt like I was actually watching a movie. Pretty much all of the characters in this are annoying because they’re a bunch of teens, most of them entitled. The only thing that I didn’t love about this was that I predicted who was the one behind the tormenting pretty early on; though I did second guess myself at one point which I very much enjoyed.

I LOVED Lally’s debut novel That’s Not My Name and was so excited for her newest No Place Left to Hide however I was sadly disappointed. I listened to this on audio and that may have been part of the problem, as the narrators juvenile dialogue was way over the top. I understand this was a YA novel but the main characters dialogue was frankly so annoying. The plot was predictable and slow. Although this was not my favorite, I will continue to read this author.

I was so excited to get this arc to preview as I enjoyed Megan Lally's other books and purchased them for our school library. However, honestly the more I think about this book the more annoyed I get. I would like to start with my biggest takeaway from this book. Megan Lally is a very talented writer, but there are a lot of things about this book that made me kind of dislike it, but the writing is very good. This book is about Brooke Goodwin. The book has some flashbacks and something happened at one party in particualar that happened at Brooke's family's lake house that continues to come in to play with the present. Brooke's nemesis, Claire Heck, ends up dying in what is ruled an accident. In current day, it's becoming increasingly clear to Brooke that someone doesn't believe Claire's death was an accident. They've been harassing her for months, which all culminates in Brooke (and her best friend Jena) getting tailgated on a rural highway. The girls have to fight to stay on the road and eventually fight to stay alive. It's honestly a really good plot. It's engaging, it's intense, it really uses the stranded and isolated setting well. The plot of this book is the best part of the entire story, and if it weren't for the end I think I would have loved the book but the unreliable narrator of the main character was so entitled and horrible, she just kept reminding me of everything that is wrong with the world and the people who keep getting ruining the lives of good people. Lally knows how to write tension and danger SO WELL. The problem here is the characters. I. hate. every. single. one. The characters in this book are TRASH. They are EVIL. All of them!!! This is the reason I keep getting more annoyed the more I think about this book, because I just keep getting more annoyed about the characters. All this book really ended up giving me was a bunch of people I think deserve way worse than they got. Claire is genuinely such a good example of character work, even if I hated every character. I just wish that maybe there would have been one redeeming character I could have liked.

Thank you to NetGalley for the audioarc to preview.

The narrator absolutely crushed this audiobook and I found myself drawn in by the fast pacing of the author.

No Place Left To Hide has countless twists that kept me guessing until the very end, and it was one that I couldn’t stop listening to. I love multiple timelines that trickle information to the reader and this is a book that executed that extremely well.

Unsettling and fast-paced, I recommend this one for fans of YA horror, thrillers, and suspense!

I loved this authors other book, That's not my Name, so much more than this book. But I am thankful for the ARC through NetGalley and the publisher. The Characters in this book just didn't do it for me--they were all unlikeable. And I felt the before and now were both predictable. Nothing really shocked me by the end. I was hoping for a better twist or surprise.

I love thriller and horror YA books, so this one was right down my alley! I listened to this audiobook and could not stop listening until the very end. Multiple surprise TWISTS and that ending, OH MY GOD!!! Just unbelievably FANTASTIC!

Brooke, a high school student with a perfect GPA, strict parents, and a coveted image, is trying to gain that perfect, cool image back after a horrific accident at her lake house party last year that left one friend dead. An accident in which many blamed Brooke, however, she was left blameless by the law. The receiver of escalating threats and vandalism, Brooke is "bullied" by her best friend to go to a party, at the lake, where her crush will also be.

All is cool and well until Brooke and her bestie head home....

(I can't say much more than that otherwise I'd give it all away)

I was left FLOORED with all of the twists and turns, especially the LAST TWIST! Huge SHOCKER!

I have mixed feelings about this one.

On the one hand, It was a non-stop ride that had perfectly placed time jumps. It was very propulsive and a quick read because you didn't want to put it down!

I think where it loses me is the YA aspect. If you love YA books, you are going to love this book! I just am not a huge YA reader. I also found the whole book very predictable. All of the "shocking" twists had no shock value when you already know what's coming. This could be in part due to the YA nature of the book, it could also be because I have read so many thrillers.

All in all, this book wasn't my favourite, but I do think it is going to be well loved by many!

Ahhh I absolutely LOVED this and devoured it! Once I started it, I couldn’t stop!! I did not guess the ending at all which I love! I can’t wait to see what else Megan Lally writes because so far I’ve read two of her books and I’m obsessed. This book like the last had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, guessing what was going to happen.

I honestly wouldn’t consider this YA but overall I would recommend this to everyone!! It’s sooooooo good!

So grateful to have been give the audio for this! It was done so well! Loved it
