Something about Megan Lally's books are just so addicting. Thanks to NetGalley and RB Media for sending me the audio ARC of "No Place Left to Hide." I was drawn into this book after chapter 1! I loved the school and lake house setting. I also liked the before and present time jumps to really build up to exactly what happened to Claire! Brooke Goodwin and her family are seemingly untouchable. The Yale bound senior would do anything to keep her life on target for success and do anything she can to stop disappointing her father. A few months after her ex best friend disappeared and was found dead in a boating accident on Brooke's lakehouse property she has started to become stalked with phone calls and target attacks. This builds and builds until her life is truly at stake! If you love edge of your seat YA thrillers - definitely check this out! 5 stars!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first novel, That's Not My Name, so I was excited to read this one; however, I did not enjoy this one as much.

This was a solid 3 star YA Thriller, I just feel like there could have been more depth to the story. I found it to be a tad predictable and somewhat unbelievable. While I love characters you are meant to hate, the MC was extremely hateable and not in a good way.

I am not mad that I read this, and it was a page turner, I was just a little disappointed. I know sometimes it is hard to follow up with the second novel. I know the author has a novel scheduled to be released in 2026 and I will definitely still read it.

This is a short and twisty novel. That ending! I did not see all that coming. The kids are pretty awful so I wasn't fully invested in their um survival but I loved it all. This was good. Fantastic narration!

This was a great shorter audiobook!

YA thrillers are nice pallet cleansers for me, so this one definitely hit the mark! There weren’t really any twists, because you can guess what was going on and why, but it was still entertaining to follow along! I loved the chase scenes and the back and forth between past and present.

None of the characters were particularly likeable… at all. But it still worked for the storyline!

I LOVE this narrator in any book she reads. She is extremely entertaining. I listened at 2X and it was the perfect speed.

All in all, I would recommend this book/audiobook

This fast paced YA thriller was a page turner. Megan Lally knows how to keep her reader (in my case listener) full of suspense. The set up for this novel allowed for so many twists and turns that i appreciate in a mystery without being predictable.

The main character has lived her life with the goal of perfection and at a very young age she will do ANYTHING to make sure she 1) attends Yale and 2) that no one ruins her family name. But in the end BOTH of those things were her ultimate downfall.

Thank you RBMedia and Netgally for this audiobook!

I was a BIG fan of Megan’s first book: That’s Not My Name, unfortunately, I didn’t love this one quite as much. What I will say though, is I really rate Megan’s writing style. It’s sharp and edgy and filled with so much suspense.

No Place Left to Hide, rates at 3 stars for me, the fast-paced ending, the short chapters, the tension had me pushing to finish it within one sitting. It was certainly easy to read and I’d definitely recommend this to YA thriller lovers. But, unfortunately, I didn’t feel much investment in the characters, the characters were all extremely unlikable. I guessed what was going to happen very early on and it felt really far fetched with one too many plot holes and inconsistencies. I’m disappointed I didn’t love this one as much as I was expecting too, but I can see a lot of readers absolutely devouring and loving this one.

Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook version in exchange for an honest review

This was definitely a fun read (listen?) for me! Before I dive in, I am really good at thinking out of the box and will have 10-30 different scenarios in my head for mysteries by chapter 2. So please keep in mind I love trying to figure these out pretty quickly.

This was an insanely fast paced read/listen for me. Devoured it in one sitting and was loving every minute. The plot was wonderful and didn't leave me questioning or wanting more. This story was SOLID. (I am very familiar with the PNW as well so this one really made me happy!) For me I quickly caught on to part of the mystery but the second smaller twist I was not expecting. Foreshadowing was amazing and the little sprinkles of information were well placed. I say this in every review that has a flashback moment, I HARSHLY rate flashbacks. To me it takes a really good writer to make it flow, and not seem out of place. I will say this one felt pretty good. All the puzzle pieces fit at the end as well and there was no gaps between the flashbacks and the main storyline. May I say, I was probably rooting for the wrong team on this one (I really need to step away from the morally grey books lol) but it's fine I guess. A well deserved ending, even if I wish it had gone differently.

Narration was amazing! Justis Bolding did an amazing job. I listen to a lot of my audiobooks at multiple speeds. Usually starting out at 1x and working my way up to 2.5x-3x. However, this one started out in 2.5x speed and I never adjusted it. Even at a quick pace, from the beginning, I was able to clearly understand the narrator and story. I will say the robotic voice sent me into a giggle spiral, just because I thought it was funny, yet still loved it!

My rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you so much to Megan Lally, Justis Bolding, RBmedia, and NetGalley for letting me have a peak at this Advanced Listener Copy. Loved this story and definitely recommend as a fun fast-paced mystery!

Wow—this was fast-paced and wildly entertaining! It felt like watching a movie, and honestly, I wish it was one.

Brooke is anxiously awaiting her Yale acceptance letter, while her best friend Jenna is all about partying. When Jenna insists they attend another wild gathering, Brooke hesitates, haunted by memories of the last one—a night she’d rather forget. And she was 100% right to worry. Lucky for us, she went anyway!

I absolutely loved Brooke. She’s smart, strong, and driven. Since the story is entirely from her perspective—and given her popularity—the other characters tend to revolve around her. She’s super sassy, and I couldn’t get enough of her. The audiobook narrator did an amazing job, especially with Brooke’s voice, making it a performance well worth listening to.

Frenemy Clair was the only other standout character, and she was joyously awful—the quintessential mean girl done right.

The story alternates between “Now” and “Then” chapters, both centered around two pivotal parties several months apart. The events of the latter party heavily rely on what happened at the first, and the alternating structure keeps the suspense building throughout.

Were the reveals predictable? Yeah, I’m not gonna lie—they were. But honestly, I didn’t care. I was having way too much fun to be bothered. It felt intentional, like the way I Know What You Did Last Summer or Pretty Little Liars leans into its twists.

As a rule, I’m not usually a YA fan, but this thriller hooked me completely. The structure, the sass, the F-bombs, and that epic car journey—this is a must-read for any thriller fan who’s young at heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and RBmedia for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
I loved Megan Lallys debut novel, That's Not My Name, and I think this book is even better! This book is about Brooke, a high-school student whose life seems perfect she just got into her dream school, Yale, and she decides to go out with her friends to celebrate. After the party, she ends up being tailgaited by a bronco while receiving a plethora of anonymous threats via texts. It seems her past is coming back to bite her in the butt. This story is told in past and present timelines, which was extremely intriguing and kept my interest piqued because I kept wanting to know what happened in each timeline.
In regards to the narrator, Justis Bolding, I thought they did an excellent job of keeping the suspense of the book going. They actually reminded me of my favorite narrator for thrillers January Lavoy. The narrator was so good i read the book in one sitting because I had to know what happened. Overall, I highly recommend this book if you love YA thrillers.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

Another outstanding thriller from this author! I was thrilled to dive into this book, especially after being captivated by Megan’s debut novel, That’s Not My Name. I couldn’t wait to read more of her work, and this book absolutely delivered. Packed with secrets, drama, and confessions, it was truly popcorn worthy.

From start to finish, I was on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what would happen next. I had plenty of theories along the way some of which turned out to be right, but the twists and new details constantly kept me second-guessing myself, which I absolutely loved.

As for the characters, this book had a way of making me dislike most of them, even when I wasn’t entirely sure who was guilty of what. While I understood their motives, it was hard to root for them, which only added to the tension. It’s a testament to Megan’s skill as a writer that she could evoke such strong emotions, and that complexity made the story even more compelling.

Regarding the audiobook, I highly recommend it. The full cast narration elevates the experience, making it feel like you’re watching a movie play out. The narrators did an incredible job bringing the characters to life, adding another layer of immersion to the story. I would gladly listen to more performances from this talented team!

Ultimately, I couldn’t put this book down and finished it in one sitting. Megan has officially become an auto-buy author for me, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!”

*Thank you Netgalley & Sourcebooks fire for giving me the opportunity to listen to this as an early copy!*

No Place Left to Hide can best be described as if Mean Girls were a thriller! It has a very Pretty Little Liars feel to it, being an edge-of-your-seat young adult suspense. It had me hooked from beginning to end. Though I found the twists predictable pretty early on (unlike Lally’s debut book “That’s Not My Name”), it still had me rapidly turning the pages. It’s a very quick and fun read that held my attention throughout!

Thank you to Megan Lally, Sourcebooks, RBMedia, & NetGalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. The twists and turns kept me guessing. Brooke is running from a secret, but will she manage to get away and start her new life at Yale? Or will she die trying to hide it? I listened to the audiobook version, which was very well narrated. I didn’t want to stop listening.

Thank you NetGalley and RBmedia for the opportunity to listen to this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
I finished this in one afternoon/evening. Once I started I could not stop listening.
Two timelines and one heck of a story. Teenage drama, dueling friend and a bit of revenge. And talk about a surprise in the last hour and a half of the book.
Great job by the narrator and also well written. Kept my interest.

The last couple of chapters were everything and made up for the rest of the book. I definitely really enjoy this author, but found the main character to be super entitled and unlikeable so I had trouble getting through most of her story! I won't say the end was justice, but it was a satisfying ending! Definitely enjoyed this more an audiobook as the narrator did a really good job!

No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally is a young adult audiobook told from the point of view of wealthy, privileged, teenage, main character, Brooke who values image and success above everything. This audiobook was narrated by Justis Bolding who did a great job. Some consequences catch up with her after a horrible incident that happens after a high school party. I can’t say much more without giving away some twists! This is a very different type of book than Megan Lally’s first novel, That’s Not My Name, which I really liked despite the YA genre. This one is still a good one- a solid 3.5 ⭐️s which I’m rounding up to 4. Megan Lally is proving herself to be a master of suspense and YA thrillers. I think teens will like this one a lot. Thank you to NetGalley and to RBMedia for the opportunity to experience this ARC audiobook of No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally.

So engaging and entertaining! I read Megan Lallys first novel when it first came out and absolutely LOVED it and this one is really good too! I don’t want to give to much away so, I can’t say to much but, she definitely kept me guessing!

Brooke is looking forward to attending her dream university. She is invited to attend a party with her classmates to celebrate their achievements and next steps in life. Brooke has a perfect night, hanging out with her friends and crush by a beach bonfire. But it soon turns into a nightmare as she begins being tailed by an old truck. She feels her life slip out of control as she tries to escape.

This is genuinely one of the best books I’ve read this year. It’s a young adult book, but it’s honestly enjoyable for any age. It was a quick and easy read, but had a ton of twists and turns and unique characters. Lally did a great job of building suspense, especially during the truck chase. Sometimes authors seem to rush through tense moments, but I was able to really feel what the characters were feeling. This was a really unique take on a ‘car chase’ thriller. I listened to the audiobook version and I really enjoyed the narration. Justis Bolding did a great job of distinguishing between characters and portraying emotion. Overall, a solid book. It was a nice change of pace from my usual reads.

Thank you RBmedia for providing this audiobook for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I was very excited to read Lally's second book. Her debut, "That's Not My Name" was one of my favorite books from 2024. "No Place Left to Hide" is a YA thriller that is set in Oregon. Brooke is an overachieving teen that is doing everything in her power to portray a perfect life. She has just gotten into her dream college and decided to go out with friends to celebrate at a party when the past comes back to haunt her. I felt very let down by this book. While the pacing is fast and keeps you engaged, the story itself is boring. Brooke is not a likeable character. I had a hard time defending anything she does during the book. All of the characters are extremely egotistical. Unfortunately this book is not for me.
