Ok, so I REALLY loved her first book (that was her debut novel), so I had super high expectations for this one. I liked it, but I didn't love it. First, I really didn't really even care for Brooke's character. I really enjoy twists in books, but I don't enjoy the twist being that the main character is a sociopath. I struggled to like Brooke from the get-go, but after the "big reveal" then I super didn't like her and I began to hate her best friend too. There were a few plot holes that were never answered, and I didn't think the whole story line was that believable. 3.5 stars

This is my second book of Megan Lally I have read and let me tell you, she has become one of my favorites! This was full of suspense and secrets. I loved it! It kept me hanging on chapter after chapter. I could not wait to find out what really happened, who was the guilty one, how did it actually happen?! Yes! 5 Stars

The audiobook for No Place Left to Hide was narrated by Justis Bolding; telling this complex and shifting triller took a lot of depth to keep up the constant suspense and I really loved it. Highly recommend!
Thank you RB Media for the gifted ALC.

This is the definition of a YA thriller! This book is full of drama, secrets, mystery, and suspense. If you enjoy those, then you will probably love this one. The plot itself was pretty good, although I did find it slightly predictable. I personally am not the biggest fan of all the high school drama, so that aspect got a bit annoying to me, but I can see a lot of people eating this up! Gave me Pretty Little Liars vibes almost immediately, in a good way. I loved how the ending wrapped everything up nicely. I am a huge fan of Megan Lally's writing. She is very good at letting you believe you know what's going on. So, even though this one wasn't the perfect fit for me, I would still recommend her books!

The book is a reminder that youre past will always catch up to you. Little does the fmc know that her past is right alongside her present. Sometimes there really is no place to hide. I recommend this one for YA thriller lovers.

No Place Left to Hide (audio) 4⭐️
Fast paced, action packed, rich bitch drama with alternating timelines. If you liked Noelle Ihli’s Run on Red, you will enjoy this! Brooke started her senior year with an “incident”. For the most part, things have still fallen into place, but she is receiving anonymous threats that escalate during a late night drive with her best friend, Jenna.
YA are risky for me as a 30-something. Some of my favorites are YA, and some make my eyeballs almost roll out of my head. This was a good one! While I had some inklings regarding the direction it was going to go, I really liked the ending. The narration was AMAZING! I flew through this audiobook over a weekend.

No Place Left To Hide was fine. The things I didn’t like about it were a fault of my own, because I’m not into Young Adult. So I feel like my review isn’t the most fair. It was just fine.

I'm a conflicted mess, but that's how Megan Lally intended to leave readers after finishing No Place Left To Hide!
Was this book over the top, dark, graphic and like Mean Girls on crack?
Did I hate every character in this book?
Did it feel like a hate read as I devoured this unhinged plot?
Did I love this book?
It's safe to say I answered "yes" to each of these questions!
The change in format cut right to the chase for this ending making it as cut throat as the rest of the story!
Justis Bolding did a great job amping up the tension, drama and honestly the hatred I felt towards Brooke with her narration! (And by Brooke, I literally mean all of the characters!)
Bonus: I loved spotting the little That's Not My Name Easter egg!
If you love YA thrillers like I do, you're going to love the way Megan Lally writes em!
Thank you NetGalley, and Sourcebooks Fire, RBmedia and Recorded Books for the complimentary copies to read and review.

Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook.
Brooke has been focused on her future her entire life; her family is influential and she faces a lot of pressure because of this. Because of the "incident" in the fall, the pressure to get into Yale is even more intense. Because of the "incident" Brooke hasn't been social at all; she just keeps her head down and focuses on grades and anything else that will help her get into Yale. When she finally gets the news she got in, she reluctantly agrees to go to a party with her friend Jenna, especially since her longtime crush, Dylan will be there.
The celebration quickly ends on the drive home when Brooke, who has been receiving threating messages and Jenna are driving home and being aggressively chased by a white bronco.
Wow! The story goes back and forth from the night of the incident to the present with twists and turns and keeps you engaged the entire, crazy ride.
I loved Lally's first book, and it's super popular in my school library, but this one is even better, so I'll be purchasing multiple copies. I loved the narrator and highly recommend you listen to this one

Well, I started this audiobook this afternoon and couldn't put it down. Finished in one go.
Brooke has it all, perfect grades, perfect life, money, lawyer dad, powerful family and an acceptance to Yale. She really came across as a spoiled, rich, snobby bitch...with secrets in her past...an 'incident' happened and someone is not letting it go. Can she keep her reputation intact?
I adored the audio. Those creepy voiced phone calls were great and the narrator really sounded the part.

Megan Lally's latest YA thriller, "No Place Left to Hide", follows the perspective of high school senior Brooke Goodwin, daughter to two highly successful parents and expected to carry on the weight of the Goodwin name.
After being accepted to Yale, Brooke's best friend Jenna convinces her to go to a lake party to celebrate. Brooke is wary of attending - she has made a point of avoiding these parties for a long time. Brooke used to host lake parties at her father's cabin all the time...until one night last year changed all of that - the night Brooke's former-friend-turned-rival crashed one of Brooke's parties...and was found dead the next morning. Now, Brooke is just trying to get through her senior year and get out of town, ready to create a new life for herself at Yale and beyond, and hopefully leaving behind the mystery phone calls she has been receiving from someone who doesn't seem to want Brooke to forget about that summer night, despite being proclaimed innocent.
Things begin to take a turn when Brooke is convinced someone is following them after the party on the long, dark road from the lake. As things begin to escalate, Brooke and Jenna find themselves alone, afraid, and questioning everything they each remember about that night on the lake last year.
Another suspenseful, fast-paced thriller from Megan Lally that I kept wanting to read more of (or in this case, listen to the audio). The narrator did a fine job of reading, keeping pace with the storyline, and the audio had good clarity. This power struggle of two high school queen bees that became murderous is full of twists, turns, and revelations that you won't see coming!
Thank you to NetGalley and RBMedia for the audio ARC of this title!

This was a fun and easy to read thriller with some twists I didn’t see coming!
The story follows Brooke in a duel timeline of current events and something that happened years ago, “the incident”. As the story unfolds, we learn more about what happened, and how Brooke was involved, but also why is this coming back to haunt her years later. And who is behind the phone calls she keeps receiving?
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced listener copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Did not finish this book at 40%.
I really did think I’d enjoy the book when I read the synopsis but upon listening it’s very high school melodrama. I couldn’t finish.

This book was not what I was expecting. It was better!
I read Megan Lally's first book, That's Not My Name, and I thought it was ok, I think I rated it 3 stars. So, I was a little hesitant with this second book, but I went in optimistic. And I am very glad that I gave her another change. I thought this was better than the first.
First, the narration was sooo good. And for me, that will make or break a book, but I think that is true for a lot of us who love audiobooks. But I think the was the narration was done was great as well. The story along with the dialogue was also well done. For the most part it felt like dialogue that teens would use, and the plot was only slightly far-fetched when it comes to plans and schemes.
If you are sitting on the fence with this one, I would say give it a chance. Especially if you are looking for more of a quicker read and a page turner. Do not regret this listen. At. All.

Prep school senior Brooke Goodwin has it all. Perfect grades, a date to prom with the guy of her dreams, and admission to Yale. But the details of an "incident" that occurred last fall at Brooke's family's lake house, resulting in the death of a former friend, are about to come back to bite Brooke because someone knows what really happened.
This book is Mean Girls on steroids. The story is action-packed and scary, although I found the ending to be somewhat predictable. This is one of few books where I liked ZERO of the characters. Lots of rich people problems and backstabbing happen here.
The audiobook narration was excellent. Justis Bolding captured the suspense and drama so well.

Wow! My first read by Megan Lally and definitely won't be the last. This book grabbed me right off the bat, and I had no choice but to devour the entire audiobook in a day. The twists in this book were so unexpected, and at no point did I see any of them coming. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the story and characters to life!

The story is told from a dual timeline, a "Then" and "Now" situation. The two timelines were balanced well, revealing information at a good speed but not taking away from the tension of the primary timeline. The characters were okay in this one. The protagonist is difficult to like, especially as we get to know her more. This also makes it almost impossible to sympathize with her. On top of that she was quite dense to the point of it getting frustrating. The secondary characters were fine, but didn't really branch out much from stereotypical teen tropes.
This book is OTT. Drastically so. The story and characters were kind of like something so horrible that you wish you could look away from it but just can't stop yourself from watching. It really did make for an entertaining read as long as you don't mind turning a blind eye to realistic things.
If you enjoy OTT YA reads that are suspenseful and about over-privileged teens, then you'll want to check this out. My thanks to NetGalley and RBMedia for allowing me to read this work. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A dark, character-driven story looking at the darker side of high school — and of the human psyche. The characters are well-drawn and well-read, and the plot proves engaging. It is only in the last third that I felt an ahead of the protagonist, but by then I was engaged enough to want to see how it all turned out.

No Place Left to Hide releases January 7, 2024
Brooke left a stain on her family’s name when the party she hosted at their lake house to kick off senior year resulted in the death of an ex-student.
Six months have passed, and Brooke is still being threatened and harassed daily from an unknown caller.
She’s hoping that her recent acceptance into Yale will be the clean slate she’s looking for, but that might not matter when the threats she has tried so hard to hide become increasingly more dangerous.
The drama between Claire and Brooke and the constant competition to be the queen bee was too petty and annoying to be enjoyable. I dreaded having to read the “before” chapters and found myself not rooting for a single person.
All of the characters were so juvenile and read much younger than individuals you’d expect to soon be Ivy League students.
No Place Left to Hide was, unfortunately, nowhere near as impressive as Lally’s debut thriller.

I really enjoyed Megan Lally’s debut novel so I was excited to read this one but unfortunately, I didn’t like it quite as much.
It was fast paced thriller full of unreliable and unlikeable spoilt teenagers. It was told in a dual timelines and I liked getting to know the characters in both the past and present while everything pieced together including a twist towards the end (even though the twist was pretty predictable). It was quick listen and a decent story but the rushed ending and awful characters made it a 3 star read for me.
