Love the premise of this series. But the fact that i never was able to download it before it was archived was a real bummer. But i did then buy the book so i could read it. Katie Rose hits this one out of the park. This was so cute and entertaining. The chemistry between these two jumps off the page. This story has everything you need for great read. Plenty of flirting, sexy hot moments, funny banter, romance as well as sweet moments.
Katie Rose’s Bad Boys of Baseball series returns for a delicious double-header—with the story of total opposites who are drawn to each other like moths to a flame.
Nikki Case is no fan of baseball. Her ex gambled away a fortune on the sport, and now her PR firm has tasked her with cleaning up the league’s most notorious bad boys. The New Jersey Sonics are known for wild womanizing and booze-fueled brawls, so Nikki expects the worst. Her first stop in the battle to win hearts and minds is star hitter Jake Baldwin—a legendary ladies man so smokin’ he threatens to melt her tough-girl armor.
Although his teammates prank her without mercy, Jake admires the way Nikki gives as good as she gets. She may be the queen of frost, but there’s kindling beneath those sultry curves—and he’s just the man to ignite it. But when a PR nightmare lands the Sonics in headlines across the country, Nikki is ready to walk. Only then does Jake realize how important she is to the Sonics’ success—and that winning the love of a good woman is no game.
This is another book that's on my shelf that I don't ever recall requesting. It's not even on my GoodReads to be read shelf. Doing this to remove from shelf.
Baseball & Romance - Great Start for your Summer Reading!
I really enjoy a good sports romance and this about has it all: a likeable strong sexy hero and a smart likeable heroine, with just the right amount of humor and steam. The Sonics have a bad boy reputation and their shortstop Jake is exception. Nikki’s PR firm is one of the best and she’s been brought in to save the Sonics’ image. Although the team’s reputation for pulling pranks should send Nikki running, she hangs in there like a champ. The chemistry and dialogue between Nikki and Jake was entertaining and electric.
The only thing I would have liked to see is the Communications Director getting his comeuppance, otherwise I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Oh, and be sure to look for the When Harry Met Sally Easter Egg.
Lives up to its title name. Sexy hot baseball player meets his match. Read this in one sitting and couldn't put it down. I look forward to reading more fro Katie Rose
I enjoyed this book. It pulled you right in and kept you turning the pages. This book was well written and I had no issues following the story. It tied into the other books in the series well.
OK, so it’s really cold in the Northeast right now. So, when I was asked if I wanted to review a baseball book, I jumped on it. Why, because it’s only 33 days until Pitchers and Catchers report to Spring Training which also means that Spring is right around the corner. Taking a chance on a new to me author and reading about a sport that I actually love and thinking about Spring was what was going to keep me warm as I was wrapped up in my Scooby-Do blanket.
And, the sex was HOT … Jake Baldwin burned up the pages as he seduced the ultra-conservative Nikki Case during the Sonic’s chase for the Pennant! And, YEA! A man that was spent after making love and not “getting it up” 3 or four times right in a row (that’s just not natural). He always made it count.
Unfortunately, the storyline felt a little bit broken up to me. Now, bear with me here and I’ll explain. I am truly an avid baseball fan that could probably recite stats, I love my Yankees and go to as many games as we can afford.. So, with that said, I felt like it was a really short baseball season. The book spanned itself over 8-9 months, but I felt like we never really got out of the beginning of the season when we were at the All Star Break and then it was over. I guess I was expecting a little bit more.
But, I did love the story itself. The bad-boy baseball player with the librarian-like PR representative. The side of Jake that no one saw – loving, caring and compassionate – was really sweet. But, he really got me when he didn’t come totally clean with Nikki on the bet. He had plenty of opportunities and as soon as the bet was made, you kinda knew where the story was going to lead.
I actually really liked Nikki and her personality. She really tried to come off as the hard-nosed PR person hired to whip the team into shape But, deep down, she wanted them to accept her and her new ideas. Some of the pranks played on her were hysterical and others were just down-right mean. But, in the end, the feelings that she tried to suppress came out, the team realized what an asset she really was and Jake finally fessed up and admitted his feelings for her.
Will I take a chance on Katie Rose again? Definitely. I did enjoy her writing style and she really attempted to make things true to life. If it wasn’t for the gaps in the story, Too Hot to Handle would have been a Home Run but it ended up being a Triple for me.
