In the Fire is the second book In the Kitchen series by authors Nikka Michaels and Eileen Griffin. I did not read the first book, I will say that hurt me reading this story. I did not have the same attachment to the characters as someone who read how their story started.
It is a good read on its own. Full of fun, angst, suspense, and love. Just I think you really need to read book one first.
Ethan and Jamie have a history together. They used to be lovers till Jamie went to Paris to follow his dreams and he left Ethan behind.
Jamie is now a star on TV and pretty famous. He is a little over being famous and what that brings though.
Ethan his career has gone a slower track. He is working at a restaurant he hopes to buy and make his own. This would fulfill his dreams.
Jamie ends up back in Ethan’s life and helping him. I liked them working together they are a good match. Overall, I liked the story even if at parts I had to suspend belief. I recommend reading this series in order and you will love it.
