I'm having a little trouble rating this one.

First, I'll just say I really enjoyed the audio. The book is one MC telling another the story, and the narrators captured that perfectly. And I absolutely could not put this one down. I thought it was a very interesting story and I wanted to hear what next lie was going to unravel and in what way. But, I feel like the language of the blurb made this seem more like a mystery and it really isn't. Sure, Ramona is trying to figure out who her birth parents really are and how they met, but one of the biggest "twists" is almost completely revealed in the blurb so it was more of a question of when we were going to find it out, rather than it being a surprise. And honestly, everything was foreshadowed with a fairly heavy hand so while it was incredibly engaging, I think the blurb/cover photo promise a suspense that is just lacking. Still very well written though so I look forward to reading more from this author

This book is dual-narrated by Ramona and Amy, Ramona is a young adult adoptee looking to find about her biological family and history. Amy, her bio mom, is a successful hotelier with a seemingly perfect life. She is happy to meet Ramona and get to know her, but her version of events keeps changing.

I enjoyed the premise of this book. The descriptions of the lodge and summer memories transport the reader to this idyllic locale. I enjoyed the trips down memory lane and the narration was done well. This would make for a good quick summer read, the story keeps you guessing without any gore or themes that are too dark.

I was expecting a more surprising twist/reveal at the end but thought it ended in a way that made sense. I’m still not sure how I feel about Amy?! 🤨

Thank you to Brilliance Publishing and NetGalley for early access to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Okay this was a wild ride.
It’s told as memories from the main character, Amy- are they the full memory? It’s easy to speculate what could happen but the book keeps you on your toes; when you think you’ve got it pegged, it keeps you wanting more with the twists and turns.
I feel like the book could have been a hard read with how many retellings Amy does of her memories but Rebecca Kelley has been able to write wonderfully and there’s nothing frustrating about the read. My worst fear for books is having it feel like it drags on with a ‘groundhog day’ style theme and I was nervous when I first started reading that’s what it would be because Amy has a hard time saying her truths to her daughter Ramona. However, even with retelling of the same story (sort of) the memories are always different enough you need to keep reading to figure out the truth.
This book is far from monotonous. I will be buying a physical copy when the book comes out!
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC!

Can you believe anything?!?! I love an unreliable narrator and I don’t think there could be a more unreliable one. I loved all of the back and forth.

This book was long for no reason at all!
You have a girl who was adopted and trying to find where she came from! You have her birth mom! She finds her, both of them were annoying! The stories going back and forth, back and forth! Gosh! Like get to the POINT!! Then at the end she didn't WANNA HEAR IT! ugh!! Just 😑

The book was just annoying as all get out!! Felt bad for Cory he didn't deserve that! But these 2 ladies was just ugh! And this mad the story drag but you also wanted to know the Truth so you keep reading and keep reading thinking it will get better but it in fact didn't get better! AT ALLLLLLL!

Rebecca Kelley’s I’ll Tell You Everything is a haunting and deeply captivating story that pulls readers into a tangled web of secrets, lies, and the relentless search for the truth. With its compelling narrative and heavy emotional undertones, this book masterfully keeps readers on edge, questioning everything until the very last page.

The story’s strength lies in its ability to immerse the reader in a world filled with suspense and moral ambiguity. The pacing may feel stretched at times, but this slower unraveling of events only adds to the tension, mirroring the weight of the secrets and darkness at the heart of the narrative. As the truth edges closer, the emotional stakes grow higher, making the eventual revelations feel all the more impactful.

Kelley’s writing captures the story’s heaviness beautifully, conveying the complexity of its characters and the gravity of their choices. The psychological depth of the narrative ensures that the darkness is not gratuitous but rather a necessary part of understanding the characters and their motivations.

While some moments may feel prolonged, the overall impact of the story is undeniable. I’ll Tell You Everything is a thought-provoking and gripping read that delves into the murky complexities of truth and the burden of carrying it. For readers who enjoy dark, emotionally resonant psychological dramas, this book is a standout.
