This one gave me all the YA vibes, but honestly it kept me hooked! With twists on twists, toxic
friendships, stalking, revenge, and an isolated location, the drama was real. The tension and
mystery carried the story, even with its cast of unlikeable characters (you know the ones you
love to hate). Lies upon lies upon lies—what more could a thriller lover want?
The audiobook was a solid win. Sarah Naughton’s narration was on point! She handled the
first-person POV shifts seamlessly, giving each character a distinct voice without overdoing it.
The pacing felt steady enough to keep you engaged but not rushed. And at just the right length,
It’s a quick, twisty listen that’s perfect for fans of thrillers who love their drama served with a side
of secrets.
3.8⭐️/5 for all the juicy tension! If you’re into thrillers with layers of lies and messy characters, this one's for you!

O DANG! You know those books that you just can't stop thinking about?!? Well this is one of them! @chelseaichaso absolutely killed it with her adult thriller debut, So I Lied!
This book is an addictive rollercoaster of secrets, betrayals, and jaw dropping twists! With an eerie Welsh countryside setting, a tangled web of messy friendships, and an ever present sense of dread, every chapter pulls you deeper into the suspense and mystery!
Jocelyn, Rowan and Cadence are three friends reuniting for a little bachelorette vacay before Jocelyn's big wedding! Now, on the surface everything appears to be a happy little celebratory reunion, but drama escalates quickly when secrets and grudges start to come out!
And... EVERYONE is lying about something!
The tension is strong, and just when you think you have it figured out—bam! Another twist. Plus, this super engaging read has no spicy scenes and only mild swearing, making it perfect for anyone who loves a gripping, drama filled thriller!
I fully recommend this read, and I can't wait to dive into Chelsea's next book We Were Warned, a YA thriller coming March 4th

Thank you NetGalley and the publishing company for this ALC of this book. The narration itself was good. I enjoyed the voices and they had a good tone.
As for the story for the most part I did enjoy it. Parts were a bit outlandish but overall it was a nice story and I was excited to know what would happen next. The three friends definitely needed to talk to one another more and all the lies and craziness could have been avoided.

I really liked the storyline, and I also enjoyed the twists. I liked how the story went back back-and-forth from the past to the present. There were times that I was confused between the three girls in the story and I had to stop and really think about who was who. Once I was able to do that I was able to get into the story And I definitely did not expect what happened. I did enjoy the narrator.

When I first started this book I thought it was going to be predictable and that I had probably read this story before. However, as the story continued there were so many surprises and twists that I did not expect.
While the characters range from likable to unlikable, they were all interesting. Jocelyn, Rowan and Cadence have a complicated relationship that I think lots of old friends could identify with on some level. There is lots of water under the bridge with these three and it’s interesting to see how their relationship is strained and stretched as the story develops.
Sarah Naughton is the narrator and I thought her voice fit the characters perfectly. Her voice has a wide enough range that you can easily distinguish between characters. She also did a good job of portraying the various accents of the characters. Her narration definitely brings the story to life. The narration was also easy to follow. The chapters and different perspectives were clearly marked. The only time I struggled to understand were the parts that flashed forward to the investigation.

This book was such a fun, wild ride! I loved how realistic the characters were, three girl friends who have grown apart since college, trying to reconnect on a trip abroad. They all have changed, evolved, and kept some insane secrets from one another! I was not ready for the twists and thought for sure I had the ending figured out, but Chelsea got me there too! I always love a well done multiple POV book, with some flashbacks and short chapters! This one was a treat!

What a twisty thriller!
We follow our 3 main characters, Rowan, Cadence and Jocelyn. They have been friends for a long time and are travelling to Wales for Joceyln's bachelorette party where her aunt and uncle are fixing up an AirB&B. They seem to be a usual group of friends, but we learn that all 3 of them have secrets that would crush the others. And on top of that, the couple staying next door to them seem very shady, especially when belongings go missing and secrets are starting to be revealed.
I didn't really like any of the characters, but I don't think they were written to be likeable. Rowan who was kind of the wild child of the group stopped being the wild child when she had a daughter with Jocelyn's twin brother. But she didn't find out she was pregnant until after he died of a drug overdose despite not being addicted to drugs. Cadence is a middle school teacher, she's always been the mother of the group, and the more quiet introverted one. Cadence's dreams of becoming a college professor were dashed when she didn't make valedictorian, but she's mostly satisfied with where she ended up. Jocelyn is happily getting married. She's the glue of the friendship group, though with the death of her brother and the birth of her niece, she has recently kept her distance from Rowan. She blames Rowan for the death of her brother and subsequent decline in health of her mother.
The first half of this book was kind of slow moving. We follow the girls as they travel to the AirB&B and realize it's in the middle of nowhere instead of close to town. We follow them as they meet the neighbors in order to get a ride to the pub when their rental car doesn't work out. I was a little bit bored, but once the secrets started unraveling and the twists and turns started, I was definitely hooked. A lot of things happened I wasn't expecting at all.
This was a dual timeline book. Most of the book was split between the POVs of the 3 main characters and we are told whose POV we are in. This is the "before" timeline even though it takes up at least 75% of the book. In the "now," we are not told whose POV we are in. We just know "a friend" is dead and the other(s) are being interviewed and stuff. This is obviously to hide which friend has died, if one of them at all. The now parts were few and short, but gave just enough to make you want to get to the end to find out who died, why, how, all of the questions.
The ending really made a lot of sense and everything really came together well and made sense. I feel like I should have seen some of the things coming, but I didn't and I really liked that I wasn't able to guess things. The epilogue was probably the thing I was most not expecting, but it closed an open end I honestly wasn't expecting to be closed.
The audiobook narrator was really good! She narrated all the POV's, but gave them all a distinct voice. She really kept my attention and brought the story to life!

This book was so fast paced and entertaining. The plot twists were crazy, the characters were interesting, and I loved how many times I thought I knew what was gonna happen but then it switched up again. The narration was great and I highly recommend this one. 🪨

I quite liked this one which is surprising because I was not a fan of a single character we met 😅

But this had so many twists and secrets being g revealed. First you want to know who died. Then you want to know the why and the who done it.

You also can't beat the settings. Although I really would've liked the sacrificial areas to have played more a part in it in the way I was anticipating.

This one was really good! There were so many secrets in this one.

I liked that we kept getting more twists throughout so it kept me reading!

I thought the storyline with one of the travelers was weird when we found out the reason behind the creepiness but the big twist at the end was so surprising to me. I didn't even see that one coming!

Wow, what a bunch of terrible unlikable “best friends.” This book is entertaining but infuriating and, had I not been listening to the audio, I might have given up on these horrible characters. But the audio narration was done well and the isolated UK setting was interesting. I liked the integration of local folklore and tourism.
I wish the 3 narrations wouldn’t have all been first person as sometimes I forgot who’s head I was in.
Overall there were some excellent twists and not many dull moments but these girls were just genuinely horrible people and I didn’t really care what happened to any of them. An unlikeable narrator on steroids, this one is.
My husband was listening with me on our roadtrip and he pointed out some of the repetition on the writing/descriptions and once he did, I couldn’t unhear that…

I struggled with this. I had difficulty keeping everyone straight; especially as their pasts mingled. I also had difficulty connecting with any character

By the end i was disappointed with the aunts confessional and bringing in the gardener. It felt like too many accessories on an outfit

I do think I’ll read another book by the author but felt this was just too much. Sorry!

This twisty thriller follows three friends, Rowan, Cadence and Jocelyn as they head to Wales for a bachelorette party.

The story starts by introducing the three women and the tangled relationships between them. It’s clear from the 3-way points of view that they’re all hiding secrets from one another.

The duel timelines and police interrogation chapters added extra layers, but I found myself kinda confused at times.

One challenge for me was differentiating between the three women. Their voices weren’t distinct enough, and I sometimes had to pause and remind myself who was who.

This was made trickier by there only being one audiobook narrator. I enjoyed her performance, but her welsh accent didn’t quite deliver —a detail that stood out to me having lived in Wales for a time.

The plot weaves in a lot of lies—between the friends, their past and the B&B guests. It all made for a fast-pace but also made it hard to keep track at times. By the end, it felt like everyone had something to hide, which made the big reveal satisfying but slightly overwhelming and not at all realistic.

If you love fast-paced thrillers packed with twists, secrets, and toxic friendships, this one is for you! Fans of unreliable narrators and tangled drama will have a lot to enjoy.

Thanks to Netgalley and Brilliance Audio for access to this audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review

3.75⭐️
Looking back I’ve actually read several of Ichaso’s books but haven’t been thrilled with them. However this one was definitely the best one I’ve read. Im guessing she found he new niche of getting out of the YA game and writing adult characters as they feel a lot more real and better developed.

There were several twists and tunes throughout the book with propelled you forward to keep reading or in my case, listening to this multi POV thriller.

If you’re looking for a fast read or listen this is a good one to give you your thriller fix. Narrator Sarah Naughton did a good job with her recitation of the material although it was necessary to speed up to 1.25 to listen to it comfortably.

I am thankful to have gotten the ALC for free from Brilliance Publishing through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.

⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again
