4.5⭐️ On the eve of a stem-cell transplant to cure her leukemia, Elliot Holland is determined to live one night to the fullest. During her night out, she meets Jamie Sullivan and the two feel an instant connection. But when the night is over, Elliot leaves Jamie without a goodbye. A year later, in the twist of a lifetime, she meets her stem cell donor Carly, and her boyfriend Jamie.

Allison Ashley is one of the most underhyped authors out there. She writes incredibly touching love stories, fueled as much by the character life’s hardships create, as the fun, quirky situations romcoms are known for.

This was by far the most emotional/serious of the romances I have read from her thus far, and just as with her previous books, I felt completely immersed in the story and the lives of these characters. Each and every one is multifaceted and realistically flawed. The inter dynamics, particularly around the quasi-love triangle, were engaging, insightful, and added yet another layer to an emotionally complex story. And don’t be put off by the inclusion of the love triangle trope. It is executed in a way that even the most cynical of romance readers will find satisfying.

🎧 Although the audio isn’t bad by any means and features the narrator I loved from Ashley’s previous book, The Roommate Pact, I wish I had done this solely as a physical read. I think I lost some of the emotional impact in the audiobook translation. I would recommend reading the physical/ebook over the audio in this case.

Fate works in mysterious ways in this deeply romantic and emotional novel about hope and second chances. On the eve of a stem cell transplant to treat her leukemia, Elliott Holland decides to embrace the moment. A chance encounter at a bar introduces her to the charming Jamie Sullivan. The connection is instant, the chemistry electric, and their magical night ends with a bittersweet goodbye, both believing they’ll never see each other again.

Fast forward a year—Elliott’s cancer is in remission, her graphic design career is thriving, and she finally meets Carly, the woman whose stem cell donation saved her life. But in an unexpected twist, Carly’s boyfriend turns out to be Jamie, the man Elliott shared that unforgettable night with. Now, faced with impossible decisions, Elliott and Jamie must navigate their feelings and determine what risks are worth taking for love and a life that truly feels alive.

I was beyond excited when my sweet friend @theboldswanreads tagged me in a giveaway, and I won an ALC of this book! It’s my first time reading Allison Ashley, and wow, it won’t be my last. This book hooked me from the start with its heartwarming characters and unique premise. A beautifully written, low-drama love triangle that I couldn’t put down!

If Tomorrow Never Comes by Allison Ashley is an absolute gem of a book that stole my heart and didn’t let go. The emotional depth of the characters was so beautifully written that it felt like Jamie and Elliot were real people navigating life’s challenges right in front of me. The portrayal of health struggles was raw, authentic, and deeply moving, yet it carried an underlying thread of hope that kept me turning the pages.

The second-chance romance between Elliot and Jamie? Pure magic. Their connection was heartfelt and complex, layered with history and vulnerability that made me root for them with every twist and turn. I laughed, I cried, and I found myself wishing I could step into the pages and be friends with these charming and resilient characters.

If you love a story that hits you in all the feels, tackles real-life challenges with grace, and wraps it all up in a swoon-worthy romance, I cannot recommend this book enough. Allison Ashley has delivered a story that will stay with me for a long time. Highly, highly recommend!

Elliot meets Jamie the night before her stem cell transplant for leukemia. They are a prime example of finding the perfect person at the wrong time. Especially after they run into each other a year later and Jamie is in a relationship with Elliot’s stem cell donor. This was a super sweet dual POV love story. Jamie the MMC (ex-baseball player turned Arborist) was precious with just the right amount of nerdy. Jamie and Elliot had some great banter that made me chuckle. Don’t worry about the synopsis if you hate an infidelity trope or love triangle because the characters have pretty great integrity and direct communication for the most part. It has a good amount of heat without explicit spice.
I listened to the audiobook and it was well done, my only complaint is I wish a man could have read Jamie’s perspective. I felt a little disconnected from the story when the female narrator read his chapter’s.

I was generously provided an advanced reader copy of the audio book by the author for an honest review.
