This book captured my attention with the wonderful cover and fun attention grabbing title! My 4 year old is bug obsessed! We don't own any reference books for bugs so I will definitely purchase in print! It has a great layout for any age and very informative and fun.

Don’t Squish A Slug by zoologist and wildlife expert Yussef Rafik is a marvelously informative celebration of some of the world’s smallest creatures. There is plenty of educational opportunity with this marvelous book, with a gentle message about the importance of respecting all living creatures.
The layout of this book is brilliant, with engaging and visually appealing illustrations by Riley Samels. This book is perfect for curious children or nature lovers, although there is learning to be had for people of all ages in this lovingly designed book.
Thank you Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for this digital review copy, for review consideration.

Perfect book for insect and nature loving households. The workers of nature are covered with well-presented information and amazing artwork.

This book caught my eye for its' beautiful illustrations. It turned out to be an amazing reference book for any pint size bug lover. It was so nicely laid out out, designed and filled with detail. This would make an awesome book for kiddo who loves to study bugs.

I absolutely love the beautiful illustrations in this nonfiction book! I think they were done in a very fun way. The colors are very earthy and calming. I was not expecting this book to have so much information! I think my second graders would really enjoy this book and would learn a lot about all of the "bugs" in the book. I really enjoyed the extra information about adaptations like camouflage and mimicry. I also thought the history and fun facts were really amazing. I know I learned a lot, so children would most definitely take an interest in this book ! I would recommend it to ANYONE that loves learning about creepy crawly things!
Thank you Yussef Rafik and Quarto Publishing Group for allowing me to review this book via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Fantastic book filled with lots of fun facts about weird and wonderful bugs and critters. I really enjoyed reading this as I love nature and my daughters enjoyed learning more too.

it was really my first time reading a non fiction book and overall it was book but i just think it as not for me but still i didn't find a boring it was quite fun reading it and if i wouldn't have been a fantasy and romance addict i would have definetely been more into it.

the book was fun like reading about the bugs i had no idea could be this much fun. the book i think was not for me cause i have never read anything like this before but still giving it a try was not that disappointing.

Don't Squish a Slug by Yussef Rafik is a delightful, educational, and engaging book for young children. Its memorable story, colorful illustrations, and gentle moral make it a wonderful choice for parents, teachers, or caregivers who want to teach children about empathy, the environment, and respecting all living creatures. Perfect for bedtime or classroom reading, it’s sure to leave a lasting impression on young readers.

The illustrator deserves an accolade for the amount detail put into each page. Both the bugs and background where rendered in so much detail it felt like an Attenborough film was turned into a paper format. The information was well given and just enough facts were present to keep it interesting and engaging. I would recommend for kids 6+ and all adults. Truly, the bug world is interesting and they deserve a lot more love.

„Don’t Squish a Slug“ by Yussef Rafik was a very interesting and lovingly designed children’s non-fiction book. The information on the different animals was devided into short, easy to understand paragraphs. This made it easy to follow the author along and to really take something away from this read. I especially liked that a glossary was added, this will make it easier for younger readers to understand everything.
The illustrations in this book where also very well done and still very cute. The layout worked perfectly and it helped to visualize the different animals the book talked about.
This book is for everyone. I can see all kinds of people reading it, from kids to students of any age or even adults. Everyone can learn something new in this book, which was the best part for me.

Don't Squish a Slug is a very informative picture book about a wide variety of insects, that shares facts you probably have never heard of before. I liked that there were realistic illustrations in lieu of photographs. It is surprisingly text dense, so it would probably be better for established readers or to be broken up into parts; it would be hard to read this all out loud.
Thanks to Quarto Publishing - words & pictures and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

I did not anticipate this book to be so informational! But I actually enjoyed the fact that this author put so much knowledge into the book while also speaking at a child’s level in some of the paragraphs. I like that this book almost allows the child to grow with it and enjoy it at multiple ages/academic levels.
The drawings on this book were beautifully and captivating making it an easy to flip through book.

While the title could be mistaken for a fictional picture book, this non-fiction book explores the fascinating world of bugs and the important roles they play in our ecosystem. It highlights the unique traits and behaviors of various species, focusing on their functions, evolutionary adaptations, and impressive defenses. The book also examines the diverse survival strategies of bugs, particularly their remarkable ability to camouflage.
