A simple and slight book that shows a classroom tasked with asking what inspires the kids – what gets them on a positive foot, how a 'can-do' message works for them, who it is that gives them the necessary oomph and support. It colourfully shows the various manners in which kids need a fillup – it's certainly not only in the academic setting they need an affirmative comment – and I guess this would ideally show children and adults alike how better to be positive about everyone else's achievements and potential.

This was a great and gentle reminder for adults to always be aware of what we say to the kids in our lives because it can effect them in so many ways. My daughter enjoy the illustrations but the concept was a little above her head. For me, this is more of a book/reminder for the adults. I think it would be anexcellent addition to your parenting resources!

My 5 year old daughter's review:
It was easy to listen to and helps the sadness and fearness go away because it was happy.

This inspiring children’s book beautifully highlights the power of words and actions to shape our confidence and create a positive environment for growth. Through its engaging story, young readers learn the importance of believing in themselves and how they can use their own words and actions to uplift others.
Perfect for children who may be struggling with self-confidence or need an extra boost, this book is a heartfelt reminder of their potential and inner strength. A must-have for parents, educators, and caregivers looking to nurture a sense of self-worth in kids. Highly recommended!

My Perspective:
Because You Believe in Me is a beautifully illustrated children’s book that serves as a gentle reminder of how our words can profoundly impact those around us. As adults, it’s easy to forget the power our encouragement holds, and this book illustrates that in a sweet, accessible way. The vibrant colors and inclusive illustrations offer children a chance to see themselves and their friends within the story—something I really appreciated. I also loved the “Believe” page at the end, which provides a practical way for kids (and even adults!) to reflect and build confidence.
Child’s Perspective (Age 4):
My four-year-old was delighted by the illustrations and diversity in this book. He said, “I’m in a book and so are my friends—it’s like a rainbow!” He felt empowered to try riding his bigger bike after reading the story, saying, “I can’t ride a big bike yet, but I will practice because everyone says I can do it, the book does too.” Even math—which he wasn’t thrilled about at first—became something he’s willing to tackle now. Hearing this enthusiasm reassures me that the book’s core message of belief and encouragement truly resonates with young readers. We’ve already read it four times, and he’s still excited to revisit its pages.
Overall Impression:
Because You Believe in Me is a heartwarming, confidence-boosting story that works beautifully for children around age two and up - I know it’s for 7 up but no harm can come from practising from an early age. It balances an uplifting message, diverse characters, and engaging illustrations to create a memorable reading experience for both kids and caregivers. This is one we’ll be returning to often!

A well illustrated and encouraging read. Children will like the simplicity of this book, but also the fantastic message of adults in their lives being there for them and lifting them up with their words. A good book about relationship!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. I always leave honest reviews! Because You Believe in Me is a rhyming picture book about the courage we give to others through our words, and especially words given by adults to kids. Everyone can speak life and show someone they have support. You don’t have to be a parent to encourage another person. Get out there and empower the next generation with your words!

3.75⭐️ Rounded Up.
This is a children’s book which I requested from NetGalley as I always seek out books to read at the schools that help normalize differences as well as show representation so kids can see themselves in the characters.
For the positive. The illustrations are gorgeous! They pop off the page and kids will love them.
I also I like the over all message being delivered as well as the diverse characters depicted in the illustrations.
However, honestly there were some challenges. The biggest being that the language used seemed to be a bit beyond the target age for this type of story or at the very least at the later end of the 7-10 age range it is listed at. It seems a bit disjointed where if not for the illustrations it would be easy for kids to disconnect. And yes, I read it to an 8 year old who asked many times “what does that mean” or other questions. For instance it talks about “trying out for a team” but shows a group of ballet dancers getting ready for class. She laughed and said “you don’t try out for dance class”.
But over all it was a cute book with a positive message.
I am thankful to have gotten an eARC for free from Independent Book Publishers Association through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

Great book for parents, educators, and anyone in a child’s “village” to read to young children/students. This book focuses on building up young child, face their challenges, and celebrate their learning along the way. Very positive book to read to young children.
Thank you to NetGalley, National Center for Youth Issues, and Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for the advanced reader copy. This book was just published on Jan 9!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy
This book conveys a very powerful message to children... and probably adults too. This book was a pleasure to read, and it reminded me just how special young minds can be. I also enjoyed the illustrations in this book. Adults: I highly recommend you read this book, and then read it to the child in your life. They will be grateful!

The illustrator did a great job and the book itself doesn't feel overwhelming packed with information. I know this book would sit well with my 3rd grader who at times needs the reminder of what they are doing is enough and great.

First up is Because You Believe in Me by Amie Dean. This is a super sweet book that reminds us how powerful our words our, especially to the little ones in our lives. It gives examples of kids getting in difficult situations and remembering the words of grown ups in their lives to encourage and help them through it. It made me really think about how I speak to my nieces and nephews but also made me think maybe we should speak to ourselves and each other in this way too. I loved the acronym at the end of the book to walk through these examples.

This book was so wonderful! It shows great ways to provide confidence-building affirmations to help individualize what others may need to help them build their self-confidence. This also shows how to support another person who is going through these things to be a good friend. The illustrations fit the story perfectly as well. I would love to get a copy of this for my classroom when it is published.
Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for the digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased, honest review of the book.

A picture book for traditional nuclear families seeking to model good parenting.
While I love the parenting and mentoring tips in this book for young children, as well as the colorful and diverse characters, the intended primary audience appears to be adults not children. If you are an adult reader and are feeling overwhelmed by parenting or know a child who seems down-trodden or is struggling with their confidence, reading this book may help give you ideas on how to encourage them with the power of belief. Consider carefully whether or not to read this to children who do not have a traditional nuclear family or are struggling with family turmoil.

When you are facing things that seem too hard or confusing think about how your friends, family, and teachers would say to encourage you. And if you are the one who wants to be helpful how can you help? Great resource!
The illustrations by Maria Diaz Perera (Illustrator) are clear, basic, colorful, and show what is needed.
Well suited for reading WITH someone any age from age 6 and up including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school or your local public library!
I requested and received a temporary uncorrected e-Galley on Adobe Digital Editions from National Center for Youth Issues | Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Members' Titles via NetGalley. Thank you!

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! I love how this showcases the importance of others believing in you. I also like how they show many different aged people being each others cheerleaders. A great book to show self confidence and how the power of others believing in you can increase your confidence! I also enjoyed the colorful pictures throughout the book.

This is a perfect book for kids to remember their support system and that they can do hard things. The rhyming was cute and the illustrations are perfect. I like how each person in the characters lives supported them in different ways. I will purchase this book for my daughter. Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the illustrations in this book and the story being told. The book explains the importance of believing in your child and how it affects them.

As a parent to 3 boys, I really enjoyed this book. It is a great reminder to be encouraging to my children and not negative in the ways I talk to them. Even the smallest of uplifting phrases can make a big difference. I want my kids to believe in themselves, and this is a great little book to help them with encouragement. I really liked how there was a cute story, and then a page with tips for parents, teachers, or caregivers. I know, that sometimes I forget to be encouraging to my kids, and this book is a great tool to help remind me. I think this is a great read for any child or parent! Plus, the illustrations are very well done, and can be fun to look at for children.

First off, the artwork for this book is gorgeous! So colorful and fun throughout the book. I really enjoyed how the narrative rhymed and flowed very nicely. I thought it was great how it shows the children being built up from those who support them that they can achieve/do anything as long as they believe in themselves. It’s interesting how the author shows the self doubt to start within the certain character and how believing in themself brings out the best in them. Because You Believe In Me is a sweet story for children and adults alike! Thank you NetGalley for providing the ability to read this book.
