I am absolutely OBSESSED with this series. while I didn't enjoy this as much as the first book, it was still very good. the second half felt stronger than the first half and I do tend to get bored when books center around ~finding the special object~ but I love these characters, the ending was GREAT and I cannot wait for the next one!

This made me really excited to read the full copy! It was enough to hook me into the story & I can’t wait to see what happens

This just didn’t seem like it was for me. Thought I would give book two a chance and I have come to the conclusion that this is just not for me.

Four Ruined Realms by Mai Corland is a captivating and immersive read that will transport you to a world of dark fantasy and adventure. This compelling novel follows a complex and relatable protagonist as they navigate the challenges of a world ravaged by destruction and chaos.

I recently finished the first book in this series in January and really enjoyed it. This sample for the second one picks up right after the ending of the first book and carries forth the momentum from the twists and turns revealed at the end. I'm excited to be back in this world and with these characters and hope to pick up and carry forth with this series soon!

Four Ruined Realms was an absolute blast to read! It’s such a fast-paced story that I couldn’t put it down. The action keeps you hooked from start to finish, and the writing is so easy to follow, making it a breeze for the mind to digest. I loved how quickly the book picked up right where the last one ended. Everything flows smoothly, and I never felt lost in the story. I’m already excited for the next book—I can’t wait to see what happens next!

This was such a great read! After the events of the last book, with all those reveals? I had to know what was going to happen next, and I had such a blast reading it! Oh, but these characters are in some difficult places, with some pretty hard decisions ahead of them. Watching as they traveled to this new country, I loved learning more about the history and the politics!

One thing that I was a bit worried about, was that this book came out pretty quickly after the first book, which was reminding me a lot of the release schedule of Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, which is a reason why people don't enjoy Iron Flame so much. I did, but I was worried that the quick turnaround time in publishing, which normally moves so slow, might've had a negative effect, especially since they're with the same publisher. But nope, I at least, had another great time reading this book! Though I am usually pretty positive about everything, if I'm interested in something, I enjoy it.

They all have something going on. A lot of it is trust, that was broken, and a couple were secrets. A lot came out, and even more in this book, and they had to deal with that as a group, minus Tiyung, who was locked in prison. Between Daysum, Euyn and Mikhail's separate secrets and how Aeri has a relic, it kept me interested in all of their perspectives, not to mention all the personal relationships between all of the blades.

The main plot for this book, is just trying to get close to Quilimar, which is not easy, given that power rests uneasily on her, with her husband dead and her son being very young, her attachment to the crown is tenuous. Of course that means that she'd limit how many people could get close to her, so it's understandable that they spent most of the book searching first for the ways in, and then how to fulfill those ways.

That it ends with another evil moment, with all the reveals, and where we left all these characters, yeah, it has me anxious for book 3. I don't know how or if things can get better, because I am rooting for these characters, messy and flawed as they are.

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more by Mai Corland!

I loved this preview just as much as Five Broken Blades, and I wish it was the full arc! I can’t wait to read it.

Ok, this preview was wayyy to short because I find myself going to the bookstore and getting this book right after reading this.

It gives enough context to know what comes next, I just hope it's a full length book.

I wasn't the biggest fan of book 2, but this preview of book 2 gave me peaked my curiosity. I'll probably check this book out sometime soon, but most likely not right away.

I’m so excited to dig back into this world! This little tease was exactly what I needed to do a reread of Five Broken Blades. I do also like that the beginning has a review of what happened in the first book.

Such a great second book! I loved these characters in the first book and was shocked by the twists, so I immediately wanted to read this one. It was interesting to see how they were handling the backlash of what happened near the end of the first one. I love how it has multiple POVs as it gives more depth to the characters. It truly kept me entertained by all the twists and suspense of trying to figure out how it'd play out. Loved this one! The preview from NetGalley immediately made me purchase the book. Truly keeps you gripped, trying to figure out how it'll go for everyone with great twists and shocking moments, but action-packed with a great romance factor to it as well!
