I am obsessed with this series. I usually am not a huge fan of this many POVs but I think that Cortland does SUCH a good job with each character being so distinct from the other. The sassiness, deception and mystery behind each character with a revelation of each of their character flaws that only the reader knows until its grand reveal is well written and adds such depth to the plot!

And the love stories, UGH. I am obsessed with Royo and Aeri especially. The longing between Tiyung and Sora. The hate/love that Mikail and Euyn have. So so well done. I cannot waiittttt for the next one 😍

Really enjoyed this preview of Four Ruined Realms. Interested to see where the story goes. Multiple POVs following the most morally gray characters as they go on a new quest after their attempt to assassinate the king was thwarted at the end of book one.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this preview in exchange for an honest review.
When I finished reading the first book in this series, even though I didn't love everything about it, I immediately wanted to read the next installment in this series. Specifically, the ending of book one does a fantastic job of pulling the rug out from under the reader and creating a feeling of uncertainty. The preview for this book does a fantastic job of sparking interest while maintaining the feeling of uncertainty in how the plot is going to play out. Specifically, in the preview, in becomes clear that as a group, these characters are very divided and weary of one another but need to be able to work together.

This preview offers an exciting and seamless continuation of the Four Ruined Realm story, picking up right where the first book left off. Without slowing down, it pulls readers back into the action, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense and captivating full-length novel. The writing is engaging, the pacing keeps you on edge, if this glimpse is any indication, the next installment is going to be a must-read!

10/10 for the preview. My only regret is not requesting it sooner! So happy the book is out now and I can jump right in because I NEED to know what happens next. The tension in the group 🤌🏼

I should have read the first book that I have on my bookshelf so that I had more of a back story. Can this mismatched group be able to work together after everything that has happened? There are still some trust issues between them. But they know that only as one can they defeat their enemy.
Good characters that each add to the story.
Thank you Netgalley & the publisher for the preview copy. This is my voluntary review. I will need to read both of them to give a complete review

Amazing! I love that the first 5 chapters of the book are each character. The end of the preview really leaves you wanting more and I was even more excited to jump into this sequel than before!! There's already some great build up in these few chapters.

Thank you to Entanged Publishing and NetGalley for a chance to read and review this preview of Four Ruined Realms by Mai Cortland!

This previes contains the first 5 chapters of Four Ruined Realms, which is book two in The Broken Blades trilogy. I am so excited to read this book after such a fun start! I have pre-ordered the hardcover which features beautiful sprayed edges! Like book one, this drops you right into the action and I have found myself hooked.

This was such a good setup for book 2. Five Broken Blades was one of my favourite reads and I can’t wait to finish the rest of this book

This book includes:
- a found family now broken
- distrust and lies
- thieves, lies, spies, beggars
- an impossible heist

I am so excited to read this book! The preview was just as good as book 1 and I know I will continue to be a huge fan of this series. It begins with every bit of trust and dignity gained from book one in complete tatters. Alliances are broken. Friendship is lost. And even budding romances are dead and gone. I cant wait to find out if the crew is able to trust each other once again and work towards their collective freedom.

This review is based on the first 5 chapters in a preview provided by NetGalley.

As this is a sequel, I appreciate the author provides reminds the readers of all the characters as well as gives a brief recap of book 1.

Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off, and we jump right back into the action. Based on the sample, if you liked book 1, you will like book 2 as it’s done in the same fast-paced and multi-POV style. The sampler definitely left me intrigued to read more.

Alright. So this took me a really long time to get through, which is unusual for me. I just found myself picking up other books instead. I absolutely loved the first book, this one just fell flat for me. It was very anticlimactic and just boring. I’m rating it 3 ⭐️ because I still thing it’s an alright book. Just wasn’t for me. Nothing inherently “wrong” with this one. I just didn’t connect with it in the way I did the first one

Absolutely amazing this preview is phenomenal. Not only that I just finished the entire book and it’s iconic.! I cannot describe how much I love Royo ! Well, by now, I’m actually attached to all of them. I cannot wait for book 3. It is coming out in June. This book is a must read, especially if you enjoyed book one.

I loved the first book in this series and the preview was just a continuation of "Broken Blades" best traits: there is romance, there is betrayal, there is palace intrigue, and there is just a touch of magic. I can't wait to dig into the full length book and am so stoked to post my review on Goodreads!

This was a great preview to the sequel in the Broken Blades series, it was a strong concept and was able to give us a taste of the full book. Mai Corland wrote this well and was glad I got to read this.
