I absolutely LOVED Five Broken Blades, so I was really excited to have a sneak peak into the next installment.

Four Ruined Realms is excellent so far. I'll have to buy the book quickly, as I NEED to know what happens next.

This was a good start for a sequel! I am intrigued to read the rest. It feels like the focus will be on world building and adventure.

A five chapter preview was simply not enough, although I don’t feel like I can leave a proper review for a preview of a book I will immediately be going to the store to buy my copy. I am desperate to be back with these characters!

What can I say except wow?! This action-packed, fast paced, high dtak sold 1 adventure just got even better!

If Five Broken Blades was character centric, Four Ruined Realms focused on world-building and advancing the plot. The action starts early and keeps on going, driving the reader along in a desperate bid to know what happens next!

I was prepared for the cliffhanger, and had already been spoiled on booktok that there would be at least one more book (I am actually speculating that there will be three more) but that ending had my mouth dropping open in shock!

There is very little romance in this sequel (but it is there), as all of our pov characters are still reeling from their numerous betrayals and the fact that none of them can trust each other. It was really interesting to learn more of the history of the four kingdoms and the relics of the Dragon Lord.

I don’t want to give too much away, but I am desperate foe the next book; only I fear it is probably a year (if not longer 😭😭😭😭) away.

I will not lie to you… i desperately read this asap purely because of the insaaanee twist at the end of Five Broken Blades. I loved reading multiple POVS, fast chapters and a lot of movement. Corland went so much more into the fantasy aspect of the first book, so if you like that, go read it!

I need more! This series is so much better than I expected and I have no idea why it isn't getting more hype right now. I'll start - this is a must read series!

This has me so insanely excited to read the whole book! This was perfect for tiding me over until I could get the full length book in my hands!

This was a very fun preview and made me very excited to read the rest of it! I became very attached to these characters in the last book and cannot wait to see what they get up to next.

I really enjoyed this sneak preview since I’m listening to Five Broken Blades on audio again, ahead of the Four Ruined Realms release. I especially like the breakdown of the characters, maps and just enough chapters to reel me in & shock me!

Mai Courtland writes strong, distinct characters, managing to make six different first-person POVs (somehow??) easy to read. I enjoyed Book 2 of The Broken Blade’s series even more than the first, as this one leaned in more on the adventurous side of the plot (with romance taking a subplot). Naturally, it’s full of twists, betrays, and rich world building that made it a blast to read.

This preview makes me so incredibly excited for the full release! As a HUGE fan of the first book, I absolutely love where the author is taking us for our next journey!

This preview was a great setup for the rest of the story, as it sets up the main characters in an interesting and challenging way. I can see that this book will mostly be focused on reconciliation. I hope they all come together to achieve the goal that was laid in front of them. I will give a full in depth review once I have read the full book but for now these are my thoughts on the preview.

So far so good! The characters I loved in book one are back and we continue right along where we left off. Pacing is great so far with action already starting to happen early. We get the multiple POVs just like book 1.

As I only got a preview copy with 39 pages I am not dying for the rest of it!!!

Really curious about this series. I got a sneak peak of Four Ruined Realms and I love that it included a character list and pronunciation guide at the beginning. I often forget character names and who they are as the story progresses so this is extremely helpful for me! There’s even a “Previously, in the Broken Blades Trliogy” section. Like, what?! It’s like a tv season recap, I love it! We need more series to include these.

We are given a beautiful map, a recap of the first book, and the warning on how much trust is needed for our adventurers.
Only a few chapters given for a taste and the promise of epicness is heavy!
Plus, even with a handful of chapters...WE ARE LEFT WITH A BLOODY CLIFFHANGER.
