I was drawn in to the story immediately. The writing was clear, concise, and easy to read while also being vividly descriptive, which helped me visualize the characters and setting. Looking forward to reading the rest soon.

Rating and review a preview or excerpt rather than a whole book is always a bit difficult, but I will say that I really enjoyed the first five chapters of Four Ruined Realms. I always love when a fantasy book provides a glossary of character names and pronunciations, and the "previously, in Five Broken Blades" section was great for those of us who read the first novel a while ago and might not recall every detail.

This series has a wonderful ensemble and a variety of narrative voices, intriguing world-building, and a twisty and exciting plot. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this story!

This excerpt from Four Ruined Realms is but a taste of what is to come but it has me so excited for release day! I devoured the audiobook of Five Broken Blades and I am anxiously awaiting book 2!!
