This is a simple book that would be ok for a toddler. I would recommend each feeling have an associated body reaction for consistency ie. scared. Then there was a mention of feeling proud without connecting it directly to anything within the writing like the other emotions. It is great the back includes how an adults can interact with the book while reading to a child
This book fell short for me, and looking at it from the perspective of my toddler I don't feel like the illustrator make some of the faces easily identifiable to the emotion showed for some littles.
Curious Me! Feelings by Avery Rabedeaux is an engaging board book for toddlers to help them identify and better understand different emotions. The illustrations are inclusive and work well to clarify the text.
The author included tips for how to help children get the most out of the material. This is a big plus; however, I think it would be more useful if placed at the beginning of the book.

I really liked the illustrations in this children's book and also the story and how it teaches babies about their feelings their growing into.

3 stars out of 5.
The illustrations are clean and colourful, however it's more like a teaching book than it is something fun for the children. If find it a little drab and boring, it needs something eye-catching about it. In saying this: I do like the idea and it would be amazing for neurodivergent children and young children alike.
I do enjoy the diversity in the characters and art, making the book feel inclusive.
This would be okay for any young learners bookshelf, but I wouldn't add it to my own, and that's purely personal taste.
This is a great book. Not enough books talk about emotions in an easy way for kids. I think this book did a good job at that, though it could have described some of the emotions a bit better in my opinion. Like the sound effects were a great way to do that, but at times they seemed just a little less helpful to further explain what the emotion means.
Cute book for young children to recognize their feelings. The characters are culturally diverse. Fun colors and simple illustrations and words are used. It provides a quick reference for kids to identify how they are feeling and that it is normal. The last page gives suggestions for adults to help support SEL.
Curious Me!™ Feelings is a delightful and educational resource for young children, offering an approachable and engaging way to learn about emotions. Avery Rabedeaux’s gentle tone, paired with vibrant illustrations, makes this book an excellent tool for helping children develop emotional awareness, empathy, and a healthy understanding of their own feelings. It’s a must-have for parents and educators who want to foster emotional intelligence in children early on.
This is a good introduction to emotions for young ones (4 and under). The illustrations are bold and clearly show the emotions in a way that children can relate to. I only wish that the tips for parents were included at the front of the book as there were a few ideas that would have helped when first reading the book aloud.
Thank you to NetGalley, Avery Rabedeaux and Free Spirit Publishing for the eARC.
Loved this quick read! It starts that conversation about feelings and how to communicate them, and I find that to be crucial for development. The art is absolutely gorgeous, and I found myself giggling several times during this book? That is quite impressive!
I highly recommend this to teachers, parents, and family members looking to get a children's book for a little one. I would have loved this book when I was little!
Thank you for the advanced reader's copy! I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book serves as a good resource for helping young children, such as preschoolers and kindergartners, navigate and understand their emotions. One of the standout features of this title is its inclusion of helpful prompts for parents and caregivers at the end of the book. These two pages of thoughtful guidance provide excellent ideas for fostering deeper engagement and reflection with the story.

Curious me feelings was a good book but I feel it could have been better. I have one of the other feelings book which shows emotions side by side so it is easier to see the difference especially with opposite feelings like happy and sad. Even my kid when asked said that she liked the other book better.
Still it's a good book for teaching young kids about their emotions.
This book does a wonderful job in explaining emotions and showing examples through the illustrations, which are beautifully done. The writing is simple and easy to understand for young children. The author covers the different types of emotions and also asks questions to open up discussions about feelings with your child. At the end of the book the author took the time to explain and make suggestions on how to get the most out of this interaction with your child. The suggestions made build toddlers pre-reading skills, raise their understanding and engagement with the story, as well as develop their social and emotional skills. As a parent of a toddler, I would highly recommend this book.

With gorgeous and diverse illustrations for each emotion and and a very easy to follow story, Curious Me!™ Feelings is an excellent choice if you're looking for a book to read to your toddler. The vocabulary used is age appropriate, and teaches children not only the names of the emotions but that it is perfectly okay to express them.
Curious Me! Feelings is a brief picture book that focuses on identifying feelings. The main storubis simple enough, but there are added resources at the end so adults can help young kiddos expand on the story and apply things to their own lives. This would be a great book for preschool aged kids.
