Loved this intense fast paced emotional drama with tons of energy and emotional feelings. Loved this book and highly recommend!!

Book two is far better than book one of the series. It’s a bit of a mafia-type read, which not normally something I read. The hero was instantly and completely in love. She fell almost as fast. We don’t learn much about her, but you’ll cheer for her (and him) as they make a desperate escape to safety!

This is a gripping and intense romance that will captivate readers who crave a dark, emotional, and passionate love story with a strong, complex hero and a heroine who sparks a fierce obsession, perfect for fans of suspenseful, fascinating, and deeply romantic tales.

Lightly updated from the original such that the geopolitical situation makes sense with respect to current events. This is the first Lisa Marie Rice I ever read and it was fun to revisit it.

Drake is so alpha he defines alpha. Grace is sweet and copes remarkbly well with being shot at and having people killed in gruesome ways about her.

Super fun read - the star rating just fits within how I rate books. If I were just rating fun this is an enthusiastic five stars!

Book 3 of a series but works as a standalone. The story us formula but writing makes it enjoyable. This us so new author for me and I will definitely read more. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book

Dangerous Passion has a sort of stalkerish hero that only works in books. In real life, it would be an episode of Criminal Minds. The two main characters are also certainly an opposites attract couple-Grace is very innocent and Drake is an arms dealer. Like all her books, this is steamy for sure! The insta-love was a little cringy for me in the beginning, but it passed quickly. Grace just seemed to accept all that was happening-I felt like she should have been more cautious or surprised. Obviously with his profession, there is no dearth of danger in the plot! He has plenty of enemies. The ending was a bit unbelievable (yes, I know it's fiction). I struggled with the ending of book 1 as well (it felt too abrupt). However, I think I enjoyed Dangerous Passion more than Dangerous Lover, so that's something!

Dangerous Passion by Lisa Marie Rice is a definite genre book; if you like the genre, you’re in.
Drake is a forty year old man who started off as a street rat in Eastern Europe but has clawed himself to the top as the richest arms dealer in the world. He allows himself no weaknesses, so he has no friends, no lover, no anything really, until the day he is sitting in his car and sees the most amazing painting he has ever seen through the window of a gallery. He lets his security go and doubles back to go inside and see it up close. At the same time the artist enters the gallery and he is mesmerized. From then on, for one hour every other week, he slips out of his life to go to the alley behind the gallery and look through a small window just for a glimpse of her. Sadly the wrong person has become of aware of this and has taken advantage of it trying to kill both her and him, and succeeded in killing her friend who owned the gallery. He takes her to his very secure compound and starts making plans.

This is in many ways a dark novel, but it is also a love story. For a man that has never allowed himself a weakness, he now had a big one. But, his killer refuses to give up and eventually his patience is rewarded and he has the perfect shot, but she trips, and he kneels to catch her just as the barrage begins. They manage to trick their way out of it but not without a lot of scheming and use of resources. It is a sinister but has it high points. Rice is an excellent storyteller and has made this story so full of detail that one can’t help but be mesmerized by it. Good read.

Lisa Marie Rice is a new-to-me author, and I very much enjoyed this story. The characters were well developed, and I loved the play between Drake and Grace. Chemistry off the charts, although you could probably guess by the hot guy on the cover. 🙂 Excellent story with a wonderful epilog. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes bad guy billionaires and sweet heroines. 4.5⭐

DNF at 60%

I have to admit that I was excited about this book, I have been a fan of the author for a long time but I haven't read any of her books for a long time and I think that's why I couldn't get past 60% of the book, I feel that the author's way of writing is no longer for me and even though this book has themes that I like, I couldn't read them. I feel sad, but I can't force myself to continue with this book.

I enjoyed Grace and Drake. I love when there's an artist. The spice is great. There's just enough suspense. I liked this one even more than the first. It's a quick read that packs a punch.

I can always count on Lisa for a great read, with a lot of twists and turns.
But I should have read the blurb before requesting this book, its a re-release and I already own it. I love it though, its a tossup between Woman on the run and this one for my fav book by this author.
The dark brooding alpha male character is kick ass and the 'bright light in the dark' heroin is sweet with a spine of steel.

I would have rated 10 stars if I could! Beautiful, beautiful story! It had me on the edge of my seat several times! This was my first book from this author and I'd happily read all her books after just reading this one!
I absolutely fell in love with the characters. Grace is the sweetest, so trusting, and she really opens Drake's eyes to the beauty of the world.
Drake is a magnetic character, the author really captured Grace's fascination with him, and made me fascinated too. Loved the descriptions of him!
The epilogue was so sweet and made me tear up 🥹

A dangerous man who rules with an iron fist meets a super sheltered artist and falls madly in love very quickly. The love story itself happens pretty fast and the female character was way too trusting of some crazy stranger but I looked past it and I thought their relationship was very beautiful and the spicy scenes were definitely giving major spice.
Overall I was hoping for more in the story besides them and like 1 bad guy. There was no madness and mayhem befitting of a mob boss hero. I still think it was a decent read with plenty of fire and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who just wants an easy but sexy love story with plenty of spice.

I really liked the characters. Drake is a hard and ruthless man to everyone except Grace. Drake happened to see some paintings in a gallery that he felt he couldn't live without. Then he saw the artist. She is light. She is his complete opposite. He dares not approach her because of his business. There are those who would use her to get to him. So, he stays far away from her but watches. One day while he is watching Grace, he is attacked, and his nightmare became reality. Some men were using Grace to get him to comply. They were able to escape, but Grace's life will never be the same. Drake will do all he can, even give his own life, to protect Grace. Grace will do anything for Drake. Is there a chance they can have a life free of danger?

Interesting story, at first I was intrigued by the "bad" guy who was enthralled by the beautiful artist but wanted to protect her by staying out of her life. Then things turned a different way and I wasn't sure about the story. For such an innocent woman who is quiet and lives a pretty private life she sure jumps into a crazy situation and handles like a pro. I'm still undecided on this one.

It was unlike me to pass the chance to read a book by Lisa Marie Rice so I'm grateful to have received this in order to share my view on it.

This has everything I like in a book: great characters, a meant to be love story, sprinkled with a lot of heat and danger. More than this, I feel this book distills and expands all the fantastic traits of LMRs writing, it's like they are all tuned to a new level: more heat, more danger, more intimacy and an economy of characters that puts all the focus on the hero and heroine. To be honest, I adore it. It kept me on my toes and it kept on giving romantic suspense goodness.

Lisa Marie Rice is a new author to me, on the whole I enjoyed the story but there were a few things that didn't sit right with me, I don't want to expand on this because it would reveal some of the plot.
Viktor (Drake) Drakovich is ex Russian army and now a mega wealthy, powerful arms dealer living in New York. Drake began life as a street rat and by sheer determination and grit he worked his way up to his present position, a position that had it's drawbacks. Because of his power Drake had many enemies that wished him dead, he lived in isolation in his fortified tower, he had no friends, friends meant weakness, he had only highly paid staff and a well trained, hand picked army to keep him safe, Drake was the fittest and deadliest of all of them, an expert in martial ants and an ace shot were only two of his attributes, he ruled his empire by fear.
Drake had only one weakness, beautiful artist Grace Larson. Grace lived for her art, she had few friends and no family, she had struggled for many years to make ends meet but suddenly her paintings were being sold as quickly as she could produce them but who was buying them ?
Grace was the only chink in Drake's armour, she filled his dreams, it was a chink that his enemies would exploit.
As this story unfolds, murders are committed and Grace is taken to Drake's fortress for her safety, ex Russian army colonel, Dimitri Rutskoi had them in his sights, he wanted what Drake had and he was determined to get it, the woman would be Drake's downfall.
This story dragged a bit for me, there seemed to be quite a bit of bumph to fill pages.
I did like Drake's protective character, he really loved Grace, he was gentle with her and Drake wasn't a gentle man, I did like how he learned to see the world through Grace's eyes.
I thought that Grace was a bit naive, I can't believe how easily she accepted being incarcerated, she didn't want Drake to be a drug dealer but an arms dealer was ok ,fortunately she did come good in the end.
The ending was a bit too nicy nicy for my taste but I am sure many people will love it, I would also have liked the loose ends tied up.
I would rate this book three and a half but I have rounded it up to four, thank you Net Gallery for this ARC, my review is voluntary.
