Three Little Lies was a very engrossing read from the very beginning! There was no time lost getting into the story; the author grabbed the reader right at the start. The characters were fully drawn and very engaging, the story line was clearly presented and easy to follow. The book continued at a lively pace throughout, with each new development in the story increasing the suspense and building the reader's engagement with the characters and their dilemma. There were unexpected twists in the story right up until the very end. I must say that the ending didn't follow logic and was very disappointing to me as a reader, seeming somewhat contrived, out-0f-character, and agenda-driven instead of following logic and the tone set by the rest of the novel. Still, overall, I enjoyed getting acquainted with these characters and seeing their story unfold.

This was a 3.5 (rounded up to 4 stars for NetGalley) read for me! It was enjoyable, but I felt the plot was a bit lacking and the pacing was slower than I expected.

The first half of the book was a lot of character building and was definitely slower paced. I didn’t feel like I was engaged until half way through. (I checked, it was exactly at 50% that I was invested in the story.)

However, the character writing was great! The characters, especially Jo and Megan, were very well written. The reader is really able to get a chance to connect with the mother and daughter and see the nuances of the preteen daughter/mother relationship. The story had many twists and turns and you aren't sure which character to trust or who is telling the truth. For this reason, I cared for the characters and was invested to see how their stories played out.

Overall, the plot fell a little flat for me and I felt this was just a good read, not a great read. I felt a lot of the plot points weren’t adequately addressed or wrapped up nicely. Though the plot was weak, the character writing was there and made for an enjoyable, quick read!

This would be a great read for someone who loves slow-burn thrillers. I more enjoy fast paced thrillers, but still finished this up in 2 days because after reaching the 50% mark, I flew through the book!

What a wild ride this book was. It started out a little slower than the last couple books I've read, but I didn't mind because the character development was written so well with all kinds of subtle foreshadowing that still left me wanting to know more about each one. Then, once the drama started unfolding, it felt like twist after twist, answering some of my questions while leaving me with even more! Even when I thought I had it all figured out, I was wrong & didn't expect it to play out the way it did. An incredible read and I can't wait to read something else by Danielle Stewart.

ੈ♡˳ rating: two of five stars

ੈ♡˳ thoughts:
i wanted to like this book so much as i have been on a frieda mcfadden kick the last year. but i think this book fell flat. i was beginning to guess things before they happened and it turned really boring for me. the first 50% of this book is extremely slow, but i pushed through it because i was eager to see what the plot twists were. i was very sad to see that i had figured the entire book out already. the good thing about this book was that everyone had lies. it was definitely more than three little lies throughout the book. i was eager to see who else was lying while i was reading the book. however, i think the main reason i didn’t like the book was that i could not connect with the fmc. i understood (slightly) why she did the things she did, but she did not sit right with me the entire book.

ੈ♡˳ tropes
ꕥ not a romance book!

ੈ♡˳ fave quotes
“ೃ⁀➷ no quotes as this was an arc and they are always subject to change! also a mystery, so i don’t want to give anything away!

Wow wow wow! The best book I've read I'm awhile. It had a fantastic plot, amazing characters, and lots of twists and turns. I could not stop reading it and finished it in less than 24 hours!

Loved the author's writing style, how well developed the characters were, and how she heightened the tension as the novel progressed.

Fantastic read! I want to read more from this author!

WOW!!! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC! This was a roller coaster for sure! One of the best psychological thrillers that I’ve read in a while. An anxious, overprotective mom with a suspicious past, a troubled marriage, two kids with their own sets of problems, and an exchange student thrown into the family dynamics kept me at the edge of my seat from start to finish.

This book has a good story, but I feel like it led up to a underwhelming ending. The whole story unfolded within a few chapters after setting the story up with great detail for the first 70% of the book.

“Three Little Lies” is a psychological thriller that delivers on suspense and surprises. While the first 30-40% unfolds at a slower pace, it remains engaging, building a solid foundation for the twists to come. Once the first major plot twist hits, the story becomes utterly gripping, keeping you hooked until the end. I was hooked and I couldn’t put it down. I’ve read it within a day!! Packed with numerous twists, this book is a must-read for fans of thrillers. If you enjoy the style of Freida McFadden, you must read this book!!

Thank you Netgalley for this e-arc in exchange for a honest review.

This book was a ride from start to finish. Every time I thought I had it figured out I was thrown for a loop. I loved the build up of a small lie that just snowballs. Jo was so relatable as her feelings and struggles are ones that most wives and parents have. Her yearning for keeping her family together was palpable.

This book was great. Entertaining, wanted to keep reading. I was very surprised by so many of the twists. Just didn't see a lot of them coming. I appreciate the strong mother and how she stands up for her children and herself.

WOW! This book hooked me right from the start. Fast-paced, complex characters and every chapter left me in suspense and needing to read on! So many twists and turns throughout the book - every time I thought I figured it out I’d be wrong! The title is the PERFECT fit for this book! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book! Highly recommend!!

I really liked this book. The characters were well developed. I enjoyed hearing the narrative from the mom’s pov, I thought she was done quite realistically. It hooked me from the beginning and kept me engaged. The best thriller I’ve read in a while! I will definitely be reading some of her other books.

I've read 24% the main character, Jo, the mom is so cringe worthy & dislikable. Nothing has happened except she gets a threatening letter in the mail and her exchange student, Eden, takes her 12 year old daughter Megan to get her ears pierced while they are in the mall. The book feels very YA & cheesey. Not worth my time or interest to continue.

This story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and kept me invested all the way through. It follows a family who takes in an exchange student, but as the plot unfolds, I began noticing small things that didn’t quite add up. Then, an unexpected and devastating event occurs, setting off a cascade of secrets within the Hargrove family.

I really enjoyed the author’s descriptive writing and the authentic portrayal of anxiety throughout the book. The fast-paced storytelling kept me engaged, with never a dull moment.

The twists and turns toward the end genuinely left me mind-blown—completely unexpected and brilliantly executed. The plot was captivating, so much so that I found myself losing sleep just to finish it!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers and mysterious reads.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

How do I write this without giving too much away? I felt it was predictable. I knew who Eden was right away and where this story was going to do. I did not think it was about a foreign exchange student though as I don't think the blurb really matched the story. There were some good twists, and it def held my attention, and the ending was incredible!

Jo begs her husband to let them have a foreign exchange student that has similar food allergies to their son. Once Eden is in their house, Jo starts to notice wedges getting bigger in their family. Then Eden goes missing. What exactly is going on here?

This was so good. I knew from the first couple of chapters I was going to be hooked. Everything I thought was going to happen, didn’t. And then not even the opposite happened - something twisty and unexpected did. It was such a fun read and I devoured it. My first from this author but won’t be the last! Thank you for the arc!!

This book was just okay for me. All the characters were extremely unlikeable and I didn't really care what happened to any of them.

This was my first Danielle Stewart book and definitely won't be my last!!! It grabbed my attention from the very beginning! A housewife, an exchange student, and many secrets!!! It made me feel like I was on a rollercoaster blindfolded, not sure what dip or turn would come next! Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC! I can't wait to read another from this author!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.

Jo leads the perfect life. A handsome and charming husband and two children Megan and Ashton, who attend a top school. By chance Jo is talked into playing host to Eden, an exchange student. Then everything starts to go wrong. When Eden disappears, the truth nobody wanted to hear is spilled.

This was a good one. The title was catchy and made me want to read. Everett was such a weak man and I had my suspicions about him all along. Jo definitely seemed anxious, but I did like her character. Eden and Megan read as authentic teenagers. I enjoyed the twists in this book. It seemed to be in three parts and I like how each was completely unexpected from the lead up.
