This book was hard to read at times because of what is taking place. Sam Waters has lived basically his whole protecting Ever. He has made the ultimate sacrifice for her and now has had to leave the place he has grown up. He wanted to leave eventually but now he will never be able to come back and isn’t sure what is going to happen or what he is really going to do. Ever has been abused by her father for almost her whole life. Sam and his brother Hunter have been there for her doing whatever they can do for her. Sam and Ever’s relationship moved forward to them loving each other without them every really thinking about it or how they really felt. Now they are forced to face their present without each other there. Will they still feel the same way about each other or will they realize the love they feel for each other isn’t eternal love but really more like a love you feel for a friend or family? Sam is beginning to feel things he has never felt before for a girl who isn’t Ever. He has lots of guilt about these feelings and more. He loves this new life he is building and hopes that Ever will want to be part of it but also isn’t sure how Ever will fit into it. He is being given a great opportunity that will change his whole but is being pulled into two different directions by his emotions and the loyalty he feels to Ever. Then finally his brother and Ever come to visit and everything truly changes for everyone involved. Will they be able to find a way to come out okay or will all of their futures be destroyed by one lie that turned into more lies. This book was a great read. I was immediately pulled in. The characters and fantastic and have lots of depth. I felt for all the main characters in the book. They are forced to face feelings and situations they never thought they would. They are all so young and being forced to deal with things that would bring adults to their knees. Things happen that they don’t really have any control over. I don’t want to give anything away and recommend this book. This is the first book by Diana Gardin I have read and can’t wait to read the other two books in this trilogy.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.
