I was an emotional WRECK through this and I loved every second. The emotions that come from the narrators just add to the heartache and I LOVE that. Gut me, please. Make me cry lol The cast did so freaking good making all of the emotion and turmoil come to life. Iโll never recover ๐ฅน

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I cannot say enough good things about this series. Experiencing these books and characters through the extremely talented voice actors puts The Lost God series on another level! The Storm King was just as amazing as I remember.

Caitlyn's performance is astounding and conveys emotion on levels that feel so real you can't help but to be fully emersed.
Will, Tim and Rusty add a richness that makes Caitlyn's performance shine even more. I can't get enough of how well this cast performed!
You'll find:
yearning for love
Slow burn and fast burn
Love triangle
Emotional rollercoaster
War and politics
Meddling gods

This story is so emotionally hard, but so beautifully written and handles difficult topics with such grace. As always, the narrators absolutely nailed every line. I loved it.

The Storm King
Book 3 in The Lost God Series. This book is beautiful and haunting, sad and joyful. This series is seriously one of my favorites. I had to take time after finishing to try and put to words how I feel. I love the narrators of this story. They bring each character to life and really make you feel all the emotions. This story has several POV, which really brings all the characters together. The ending of this book ripped my heart out and stomped all over it, and still I want more.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sheila Masterson for the ALC of this book. All opinions are my own.

So. Much. Emotional. Damage.
Oooft, so glad I finished this at home and not at work on my lunch break. That ending is soul destroying. The type of emotional devastation that SJM shies away from. There wasn't enough magic/fantasy in this for me to really really love it, and I really don't think the love triangle trope is for me. I did enjoy this and the heartbreaking love between them is well written. I am looking forward to some well earned feminine rage in the final book ๐
โจ Thank you Netgalley and Sheila for trusting me with this early copy of the audiobook. The multiple narration was spectacular and the voice actors truly talented. They brought the characters to life!! โจ

The MCs in this group have gone through a lot and a lot of the book focuses on their grief and trauma from books 1 & 2. It took me a while to get into this one because the pacing was a bit slow for my preference. Also, it was probably a me problem and not an issue with this book because I chose to read it when I was very busy and didnโt really have the mental capacity to become immersed in the story.
My favorite part of this book was the additional POVs we get! They are currently my favorite characters and I love their story arc! The ending in this book packed a punch so be prepared, but I wonโt say anything else to avoid spoilers. As with the previous books in this series, I loved the narrators. They really brought the story to life!

Another day and another book by @sheilareadsandwrites that ripped my f*cking heart out of my chest (please see the third pic for evidence of my tears). SHEILA WTF!! (lol). Honestly though, this was amazing and I will be immediately jumping into The Godless Kindgom ALC and canโt wait to see what you have in store for me next (and am utterly terrified) ๐
๐ฅฒ๐ซ the character development is just so good and I love to see how books 1 & 2 impacted them. I also loveee that we got more Evan and Sylvie and am low key obsessed with them the most I think lol.
And to our lovely narrators, @caitlinkellyvo, @jwdamron, @timcampbellvo, and @rustymewha, you guys seriously bring these characters to life! As an audiobook slลณt, I thank you ๐

There is nothing I love more than Xander being a playboy, but throw in a politic coupe and you have me down for a good time. Did I predict I would be more emotionally destroyed by this book than the others? Yes. And you will know why at the ending of this book.
Again, the voice actors have taken such care in bringing our beloved rag-tag team to life. I cannot wait to listen to the final instalment and cry all over again.

This book is for the wounded romantics who listen to Hozier's Abstract (Psychopomp) on repeat and live for the angst of it all.
THIS STORY IS SO, SO DELICIOUS - made even MORE delicious by the god-tier voice acting in this audiobook. Though I had the opportunity to read a digital version of this, rereading via audiobook brought the characters to life in wonderful, new ways that felt all the more emotional.
This installment in the series tackles Xander's story as he reckons with his new reality and as he - and his friends! - try to pick up the shattered remnants of a kingdom, a marriage, and a soul. Truly achingly lovely, heartbreaking in its depiction of grief and loss and healing from the darkness that we keep to ourselves (and the friends and loved ones who see through it anyway), while ALSO being a whirlwind ride of messy love triangle dynamics, a bachelor-style competition for a new queen, and sizzling spice.
Heavy in all the right ways, and punctuated perfectly in audiobook, this also explores Cece's complicated and unhealed feelings for both MMCs as well as her own trauma, making for a compelling and relatable story for anyone who's ever loved and lost, and perhaps lost themselves along the way.
Prepare for many, many tears. This one will tear your heart out and stitch it back together.

Omg third book in the series this did NOT disappoint!!! There was so much growth and depth to these characters and the changes that they have gone through since the beginning. This book went into so many different aspects of mental health, grief, trauma, and recovery. Some really heavy topics are addressed and I think handled SO well. It was sooo emotional and the ending came out of nowhere for me with a big cliffhanger!! And also smut. As a firm member of team why choose the men in this book continue to keep me on that team with their actions and words. I adore these characters and I cannot wait to read the final book and (hopefully!!!) they get a happy ending.

Just when I wasn't sure what would happen next, the author threw a wrench at Xander, Cecilia and Evan's plans. I don't want to give away anything but this one was such a wild ride! Xander has three weeks to court and pick a princess that he must wed and I'm still reeling from what happened in Zander's court. So much happened and I'm patiently waiting to see what happens next. I'm excited for what's to come next with Cecilia as well but especially with Xander. So many things went down that I'm very eager to see where the author takes it from here. The narrators are Caitlin Kelly, Will Damron, Tim Campbell, and Rusty Mewha. Such a fun cast to portray the many characters in this book. My favorite was both Caitlin and Tim. Their voices are fantastic. Together the narrators did a wonderful job portraying their characters and bringing the story to life.

My feelings of this series is getting more mixed with every book.
On the one hand, the premise of this one is exceptionally unique for the fantasy genre in that it focuses on the struggles of moving on. This series includes so many important mental health (and just health) topics that I love to see representation for.
Also, I listened to the audiobook and each narrator (there are 4) does a phenomenal job at bringing the characters to life.
On the other hand, many of these conversations were overly repetitive, in my opinion, with very little happening to move the story forward for a majority of the book. Also, I somehow became very annoyed with the choices some of my favorite characters made in this one?
That being said, I am still significantly invested in the characters and their growth, and the setup for book 4 has me excited to continue.

This book remains my new favourite book ever. EVER. Reread of the book overall but first time listening to the audiobook. I will listen to this book OVER AND OVER!
THE NARRATION IS AMAZING!
I donโt have words to express how much I love this book. It makes you feel feelings. It shows you what happens AFTER the happily ever after. And thereโs a new villain ๐ฌ๐ซฃ
Amazing character development. Mental health struggles. A beautiful love story and a NEW love story! ๐
I have said it before and I will say it againโฆ Be prepared to be hit by the Sheila-bus! Itโs a wonderfully heartbreaking experience ๐โค๏ธ๐

The Storm King is an all time favorite book of mine and reliving through audio is such a treat! The narrators are a work of art and perfectly bring the story to life!
TSK is a raw, emotional journey for all the characters. Itโs full of heartbreak, healing, love and grief; you truly feel all the emotions which only connects you to the story more.

The Storm King is a highly emotional, angsty masterpiece. Experiencing this series again with such talented narrators has been like experiencing this series all over again for the first time.

I found a worry but you can fix it in a hurry, by sending me the next book on audio like now!!!
Five stars I am loving this audio arc of this series absolutely devouring it.
This series continues to be so beautiful and magical and the spice omg gurl! I wasnโt sure if I would enjoy this one as much as it is so much more of Xanderโs poV and Iโm a Rainer girl but Sheila did such and amazing job of putting the spotlight on the other minor characters like Evan and Sylvie and continuing the plot, while also enhancing Xanders character. It felt like a bridge story in the beginning of the book and then Sheila ripped my heart from my chest at the end my god, but I still highly enjoyed it.
Thank you to Sheila, NetGalley and Dreamscape media for the audio arc in exchange for my review.

At this point Iโm thoroughly convinced this shouldโve been a why choose ๐. The relationships are just so well done, messy, heartbreaking. I freaking adore Xander so much and need him to get all the love he deserves. The ending has left me unwell. It went from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye. So thankful book 4 is already out!! Thanks to Dreamscape and the author for the ALC!

Wow. I am truly blown away with how amazing the narration is with this book. The Storm King is an emotional journey for all of these characters. Theyโre dealing with trauma, and I love how they all react in different ways. It really shows how different people will process and grieve differently. And all four of the narrators were incredible. They really captured the emotions and distinct voices of each character so well. This was great to experience, and I would highly recommend this audiobook for anyone interested in the series.
