Another action packed and exciting book from Ryan Calejo in the Rymworld series! I really enjoyed this one with it's non stop action and mystery. I think kids will really enjoy it for it's humour and magic and amazing world building but I know adults will enjoy it too while they read along. It reminds me of all of the great books from my childhood like A Wrinkle in Time and Narnia where you get to travel to another world where you could meet any manner of creature or find yourself in a wild situation.

This book picks up pretty much right where the last left off and I really feel like you need to (and would enjoy) read the first to make sense of the second. I also totally recommend the audio book which is how I read this book as the voice actor put a lot into his performance and brought the story to life for me. You can really feel the energy and the fast pace of the story with the audio book as well.

If you think that licking slimy slugs, travelling through space and time, battling evil alchemists and solving a mystery along the way sounds like a lot of fun, then this book is totally for you!

I struggled a bit with this book, as I dived in a complex world with complex relationships from its second book. I felt detached from characters and the narrator's excitement while narrating could not catch with me.
Everything happening was very fast, like a hurricane and while it was calm in a sentence, the actions sped up at full in the second. This almost non-breathing transition into action caught me unprepared for this book.
In the middle and towards the end of the book, I believe I matched the pace of the characters and the narrator and the end was fantastic, I was caught by surprise and did not want the book to end. I believe I have to go back to the first book and then re-read this one in order to have a better grip to the world and situations in it, as it seems to be worth the effort.
I liked the energy of the team, their differences, their colourful way of communication and their openness to others.
