Ahhh, I absolutely ate this book up! I have not read many, if any at all, books in the comedic thriller genre. Nor have I come across Sarah Bonner before, and I will now be adding her backlist to my TBR because WOW!
This book very much gave off 'The White Lotus' vibes. There were so many twists and turns in this that Sarah Bonner honestly had me guessing until the very end. Highly, highly recommend this one!
Thank you, NetGalley, Sarah Bonner, and Boldwood Books, for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was the perfect book to get me through the day! The story was fast-paced and kept me guessing the whole way through. I enjoyed the setting of a Greek resort for the ultra-rich and the characters were well-developed, which added to the thrill of trying to figure out who the guilty party was. The premise itself was interesting and kept me hooked on the story, with so many twists and turns that I always thought I knew and then was proved so wrong; the ending was something I definitely didn’t expect. Highly recommended and I don’t think you have to start with the first one (which was also fun) as the characters, from what I remember, don’t overlap.

I’ve read this author’s other books and enjoyed them so was looking forward to the latest novel. The cover is bright and eye catching and I’m sure it would raise a few eyebrows around the pool on holiday!
Chloe is preparing to go on a family holiday to Mykonos with her husband Scott. She has chosen a luxury villa and ordered a hit on her husband. On the surface Chloe seems to have it all, but in reality her husband makes her life a misery. Confident she’ll get away with her plan, she’s horrified to find her sister in law has found out. Things go more awry and what should have been a relaxing week turns out to be anything but!
This is easy to read and has plenty of dark humour. I quite liked the characters but didn’t root for anyone in particular.
There was something missing in this book and I can’t put my finger on what it was. The plot didn’t quite work for me, I think there were too many strands of the story trying to fit together. The ending was a total damp squib for me and was a bit disappointing.
Unfortunately the ending let the book down for me but it’s still worth a read.

I wasn't sure what to make of this book at first. It was a little hard to follow the plotline but it picked up in the second half. I was also not expecting the end and was totally surprised.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishing house and the author for a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.
This was a wonderfully fun thriller! There were lots of giggles and twists, great characters and storyline; and all in a beautiful location.
Chloe has been planning the murder of her husband for some time,,.everything is set and ready to go. But goirst Chloe has to make everyone believe that her and her husband are tighter than ever and not only planning for a long future but for a child together. She arranges for the whole family, both his and hers to go to Mykonos in Greece for a family vacation. Right away the first evening things start to go sideways. Can Chloe keep her plan in motion, or will her husband’s sister Tori ruin her plans?
There were so many twists in this book and I can honestly say I did not pick the antagonist correctly. I look forward to more books with this author.

Pure entertainment value for this reader!! As she sets the stage for her husband's death by misadventure, Chloe's plans keep changing. She's had enough, but really does not want to go to jail, so Chloe has decided Scott has to die. An extended family vacation does not go as planned with each chapter setting her plans back a step or two. This was a "read in one day" book because you just can't believe how much you'll love it! I can't wait to share this one!!!!

I actually expected something different - something funnier, quicker, sharper.
The first part of the book felt very repetitive, turning around the same thing over and over again and the only thing I got from this half was the fact that Scott absolutely deserved to die - Sarah Bonner is very good at drawing slazy, unlikeable male characters.
The second part began with a kick and a thrill and I thought, oh yes, now it's going to rock. It didn't. I actually stopped caring about who did it. There was so much circling and suspects that I stopped guessing. Yes, I just went for a ride, but it somehow didn't work for me.
As for shocking laughs, entertaining read, hilarious romp - did I read a different book?
I mean, I didn't hate it, but it was bland and too forced.

How to Slay on Holiday by Sarah Bonner is a very entertaining read. It is a dark thriller with plenty of humour and is about a wife planning to kill her husband, after they have been on holiday.
Chloe plans an extravagant holiday with all of both families in a luxurious villa in Mykonos, Greece. She wants to set up the perfect alibi as a loving wife for when they return home and he is killed by the killer Chloe has hired.
Unfortunately the holiday doesn’t quite follow Chloe’s expectations and someone else gets to Scott before the planned killing takes place.
An easy read to while away the weekend.
Highly recommended

I thought I enjoyed how to slay at work, but how to slay on holiday was just on another level! The best one yet! With a bitchy protagonist that you just can’t help loving, I’m so excited for the next one. Bring it on!

How to Slay on Holiday is the second in Bonner's 'How to Slay' series, the first being How to Slay at Work...which was a 5🌟 worthy read too!
Written with humour and doused in darkness Bonner takes us on the holiday of a lifetime. Some might say it's to die for...
It's narrated from multiple POV and from beginning to end I had absolutely no idea who the guilty party was.
Then just when I thought it was all over, boom...the prologue hit! Wow!
A thoroughly enjoyable, fun read.

Another enjoyable book from Sarah Bonner. I loved the plot and enjoyed how the author brought the story to its conclusion with more than one twist thrown in. A glamourous holiday location makes it a perfect beach read

Fun fast paced read! This is a dark comedy with mystery; lots of twists and turns. I found the the premise, plot, and writing engaging. I really enjoyed seeing the story through 3 female perspectives. I plan on reading How to Slay at Work next and hope I like it just as much.

My Review:
I do loves me some clever snark and this book was laced together with the same delectable and sharply honed wit that I reveled in with this nimble wordsmith’s previous offering of How to Slay at Work. The storylines were active, well-paced, and unpredictable. As in most families, many of the characters were various shades of vile, and no one was at all trustworthy or as they seemed on the surface. I adored it and look forward to this crafty scribbler’s next slay.
It’s been quite a few moons since I had an addition to my Brit Words and Phrases List but I found a fun one with hollibobs – which is what we Americans call a vacay.

3.5⭐️
As always Sara Bonner’s never fails to delight with her brand of dark humour thriller. It was quirky and was the ultimate vacation gone wrong read.
This follows the story of Chloe, who plans a family vacation, and her plans to kill her husband. Only someone beats her to it.
Told over the course of seven days at a beautiful Greek villa, three women tell their story with some plot twists you won’t see coming.
I loved the short chapters and the way the POV was restricted to three people despite the number of characters.
This was fun to read but left some hanging questions and holes. There were some parts which obviously needed some clarification and fleshing up. The abrupt ending didn’t help either.
But all these do not take away the author’s description of the beautiful Greek Island and how the other half lives. The witty dialogue is also a plus.
If you are looking for something twisty with some light humour then you should read this.

This was my first Sarah Bonner book, and it definitely won’t be my last. How to Slay on Holiday had me hooked right from the premise.
Chloe has a plan: take out a hit on her husband, who did something unforgivable years ago. But first, she needs a cover story. So, she organizes a picture-perfect family trip to Greece, putting on the ultimate show of a happy marriage. That way, when he dies, no one will ever suspect his loving wife. Simple, right? Except things never go exactly to plan, and as the vacation goes on, everything starts unraveling fast.
I don’t usually enjoy shifting narratives, but in this case, it really worked. Each character brought their own story, their own suspicions, and it kept me completely hooked. By the end, I was left wanting more. I still have so many questions. What happens when they go home? Did things work out for Grace and Tori
Fast-paced, unpredictable, and impossible to put down, this was a wildly fun thriller. I need a sequel.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this arc

Hilarious dark comedy about Chloe, who has a plan for her family: she will kill her husband. Everything is set up: first she arrange a holiday for her and her husband’s parents and siblings, the go to the greek island of Mykonos, during the week, everyone will see how she loves Scott, a happy marriage that continuous to last. The Wilsons and the Coopers are two trouble families, with secrets and schemes that many ignore.
The story is narrated from the point of view of three women: Chloe, Tori, Scott’s sister, who has a plan of her own, and Grace, the concierge of the villa they rented.
I really enjoy the narrative, I really liked this dark comedy.
Thanks to Netgalley, and the author for the advanced copy.

The book was very well written, I thought the plot was quite twisty. I enjoyed the varying points of view divided by days, partially because as people I did not like these women and did not want to stay in their heads for more than a day lol. I hadn’t fully grasped the mafia-esque nature of the characters before committing to the book, and it’s not something I gravitate to. I do enjoy a good mystery to untangle and it delivered.

My gratitude to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the chance to read this book prior to publication in exchange for my honest reveiw.
How to Slay on Holiday by Sarah Bonner is a fast-paced thriller set in Mykonos, following Chloe Cooper, an heiress planning to murder her cheating husband, Scott, during a family vacation. The book delivers suspense, dark humor, and twists, with Chloe navigating a strained relationship with her husband, a suspicious sister-in-law, and a mysterious concierge. While it draws inspiration from other recent female serial killer characters, the story veers in its own direction, adding unexpected developments and twists that keep things engaging, though some may feel contrived.
The setting is immersive, with vivid descriptions of the villa, food, and coastline. While the plot is engaging, Chloe's character is inconsistent, making it hard to connect with her. The supporting characters, like Tori and Grace, have potential but lack depth.
The novel moves quickly, but key emotional moments and character dynamics are rushed. Despite this, the story is still an entertaining, twist-filled ride for fans of domestic thrillers. While not perfect, it’s a fun, fast read with plenty of intrigue.

A family holiday to the Greek Island of Mykonos sounds absolute bliss. Lazing around all day by the swimming pool and nice dinners out in the evening perfection.
On this holiday Chloe wants her family and In laws to see how much she loves her husband Scott where in fact she actually has other plans for him. Well I enjoyed this book so much. I was laughing out loud after the first few pages. It’s a quirky and funny read. I loved the cast of characters and watching how they developed over the course of the book. They were certainly an interesting bunch ! I found this to be a fairly fast paced read with plenty of twists and turns and an ending I certainly didn’t see coming. Sarah Bonner is a new to me author but as soon as I finished reading this, I went straight to Amazon and downloaded more of her books to my kindle.

PSA: as with its predecessor, this is not an instructional manual. This is an entertaining crime thriller, not a how-to-slays -on-holiday!!! But going to Mykonos is murder for Chloe!
Chloe is on holiday with her family and her in-laws. Sounds an absolute nightmare if you ask me. And that’s before you throw in the family politics, manipulations, rivalry of these two not so clean cut tribes.
What I will say is, this set up is amusing in a thriller kind of way. Bonner sets her story out by the day and each day is told by a different character. Each had their own characteristics and thought processes. Some have motives …
Despite the similarity in name, you can definitely read How To Slay In Holiday without reading its predecessor. These are both highly entertaining and addictive reads. You have to read them if you want a darker murder mystery with a slight comic feel. I’m loving what Sarah Bonner has to write and I can’t wait to see what she puts out next!
