I had the pleasure of reading Lost in the Crush by Keith Yocum, courtesy of NetGalley, and I'm excited to share my thoughts. The book starts off strong, expertly weaving together the threads of a mysterious plot that had me intrigued from the beginning. The author does a great job of building tension and suspense, particularly in the early stages of the story.
However, as the narrative progresses, I found myself wishing that the protagonist, Stacie, would make more empowered choices. Unfortunately, she falls into a familiar trope of making decisions that, at times, feel impulsive and frustrating. I longed to see a stronger, more confident female lead who embodies the kind of smart, thoughtful decision-making that I believe many readers crave.
It's worth noting that Carl, another key character, also faces moments where better decision-making would have been beneficial. Despite these missteps, the author ultimately brings the story full circle, tying up loose ends in a satisfying, if not entirely thrilling, conclusion.
One of the strengths of this book is that it can be read as a standalone, so there's no need to wait to dive in. While it may not have been a perfect read for me, I appreciate the author's efforts to craft a compelling narrative. If you're a fan of mystery and suspense, you may still find Lost in the Crush to be an engaging and enjoyable read.

This was a fantastic job in a third entry in the Cape Cod Mystery series, it had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed getting to go on this journey. The characters were everything that I was looking for and was engaged with the thriller element that I was hoping for. Keith Yocum has a strong writing style and hope there is more in this series.

This book was a slow burn at first, but I think this was needed as a lead up to the intensity of the last 40%. I loved the writing style and the story comes together right at the very end. I love the background of the main character and also how the other characters were related to her. This was a scary storyline, purely for the fact that Dan Yellen was in fact someone who worked for the government, making you question what was really true or exaggerated.

I'm 1/3 of the way in to.the book.and am still not particularly drawn to the story. Yes, it has a bit of a hook but it's just flat. Thank you to Netgalley for the early release. I will not be finishing

Stacie Davis is about to marry the man of her dreams, but on the night of the rehearsal dinner, a dark secret unravels everything she holds dear! Good book! This book had suspense, intriguing, murder, mystery, dark secrets, a sort of who done it and a few crazy twists and turns! The story was interesting, it wasn't one of my top favorite but still worth reading! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

I did not realize that this was a series; however you can read it as a stand alone book. A quick mystery that peaked my interest; however, the more that I read, the more that I wanted to rush to the ending. I was not thrilled by the ending, I thought that it was an unsatisfying conclusion. I will not be recommendig it.
