What We Value by Emily Falk is a neuroscience/ psychology book that explores what drives us at our core and how we can harness those values to motivate ourselves. At times, I found myself a little lost in the discussion of values, but overall, this book is very useful—I picked up several valuable insights. It will benefit coaches or teachers looking to inspire others to reach their full potential.

While the book is grounded in science, it avoids technical neuroscience jargon. And the author managed to weave in personal stories that made it engaging and widely readable.

Overall, the book left me feeling hopeful. There is something I can do to feel more connected to other people and to feel more motivated.

It can be feel difficult to make decisions that are aligned with what we care about most with all the "noise" and 'busyness" of today's world. This book explores ways in which we can transform our relationship with decisions, which in turn transforms our lives. This is an interesting book. It's well written. It provides a nice balance of neuroscience research, fresh perspectives, and entertaining anecdotes.
