The PI team sets to finding who Jane Doe is and what happened to her. Lots of twists and great character development. Good mystery and intrigue, fast paced read!

While this is book 13 of the series, it can be read stand alone, there’s enough references to give you insight into the reoccurring cast.

A great mystery thriller / police procedural, involving a rescued woman with no memories of her assailants, no DNA, no birth certificate, nor social media traces. Taken from the view of “Jane Doe” and the private investigators working pro-bono, shocking twists are uncovered as Jane’s memories resurface. This is book 13 of the Martina Monroe series, but it was perfectly readable as a standalone.

While I enjoyed the mystery, the characters and that the last 20% really picked up in action, I struggled with certain elements. This included believability (unprofessional boundary crossings of letting a client [or potential suspect], stay at your house, bias towards the woman as the victim without objective priority) as well as a slow pacing, repetitive statements, or overuse of redundant sentences not needed to build suspense (eg. “what had they found?”). I also was disappointed that the conclusion didn’t provide adequate motive to connect why that particular person had done what they did. The history didn’t quite harmonise for me, how was it planned exactly? What were the emotions involved for that person?

Not a bad thriller for an easy read.

Now she must find out where her daughter is and who took her. Are they the same people that left her for dead? This was a quick read because I didn’t want to put it down. I needed to know what happened to her.

First book of H.K. Christie I have read and found it fantastic. I kept seeing her booked online and managed to get this one. Although it's No 13, it was easy to follow. I intend in starting at the beginning. The characters are fab - page turners, twists that i wasn't expecting at the end.

Thank you net galley. so i wish i had of know this was a series, i shouldn't have started with this book. not that i was disappointed but it's the 13th book and i want see how the rest of the series plays out. it's a fast pace thriller read. the case seem really crazy.

i was immediately taken in by the blurb of this book. and knew i wanted to read it. but i was a little nervous because this is so far into the series of this Pi detective. and never usually like to read out of series order. but also knew that i wouldnt be reading the previous dozen books before this one disappeared. so i took the chance and im so glad i did. it was also brilliant not to feel so left out of the characters and relationships from previous novels. i was straight in and hooked to the storyline. and hooked in eqaul measure to the characters. i would say id like as a preference and now want, to go back and read the others buts that more because i loved it so much and not because i feel i missed something from not reading the others. i think from reading this book also had a time jump so all readers feel at the same pace anyway regardless of having read the previous books.
it was paced perfectly. the twist were in just the right amount. the mystery and reveal of truths was also perfecty. it all mixed together to make you want to read and sometimes re read certain moments. and i found myself itching to read the next chapter.

A good thriller, it takes me too long to read because I’ve lost the interest on it.
But the Story was fine and the characters were relateble. So not a banger but a good one.

This book was brilliant! I haven't read any of the Martina Monroe books before this one, but this made me start searching for all the preceding books to try buy them.

I was hooked from the first page and I did not see that ending coming at all. I was shocked and then so happy and emotional all at the same time.

This book tugged on my heartstrings while still being a fantastic thriller that kept me on my toes at all times.

Selena was definitely my favourite character. The mental and emotional strength that she has is just so well portrayed.

H.K. Christie's Martina Monroe series is one of my absolute must-reads! Her Fearless Pursuit begins with a time jump from the last book - Martina is now married and Zoey is engaged. She's still leading Drakos Monroe as a PI and now has her step-daughter, Selena Bailey, working for her. Martina is called in to consult on a case - a woman was left for dead nearby - and she has no memories. Jane Doe, as they call her, is an intriguing case and Martina jumps right in. Hirsch, bored with police retirement, also agrees to help. Slowly, the trio begin to piece together Jane's last few days; Jane's memory also provides some clues through dreams. I wish I didn't start this series with this novel . Overall a good mystery and entertaining characters.

I waited patiently to see if I was chosen from NetGalley and wahoo, yes, finally! I have loved Martina Monroe from the first book. She is a real go getter and will stop and nothing to find the truth, within the bounds of process of the law, because she wants her investigation to stick. This book is suspenseful with some unexpected twists that I didn’t see coming. Sad that I am done, but again back to waiting on Martina’s next case to solve. It had great suspense, murder, mystery, gaslighting, double crossing, intriguing, and a few wild twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book!
