Earth & Sky by Megan Crewe is an intriguing mix of sci-fi and mystery. It follows Skylar, who joins a time-traveling rebel to prevent a dark future. With fascinating twists and an engaging pace, the story balances action and romance, making it perfect for fans of adventurous YA with a touch of sci-fi!
This book was so fantastic! I'm really glad that I'm reading more Megan Crewe books, I loved her other ones, and it was really great to start this series, to get into this world, and I can't wait to explore further in the rest of the trilogy!
The whole thing where Earth has been viewed as a science experiment for aliens, that's pretty cool, and also pretty scary! Adding in that they're experimenting with time, that added an amazing layer to what was going on in this book!
That her panic attacks are triggered when the aliens change something draws her into this fight. Along with Win, the search for an alien weapon that can destroy the systems the aliens are using to mess with time. I really enjoyed following along with the journey!
I'm so excited to see where things go from here! There's two more books to go, and with the scope of this world, I can't wait to see where we're going to go next! There's still so much to do, and more time to spend with Skylar and Win! I can't wait!
This was a really great read, and I can't wait to continue!
The concept of time-travel and aliens was interesting, but the delivery was too slow. It was difficult to finish this book due to the pacing.
I know its been super late for this book. Its already out and has been for years. Honestly no longer interested in this title.
Interests have changed - no longer going to review this book as its bo my cup of tea any longer - sorry
I received this book free from Netgalley for an honest review.

I’m sorry but this book was just boring. I can’t even tell you the point of the story because I was so bored. Anyways I don’t recommend it. I have the next two in the series I believe but I’m just going to pass on them.
This book was okay. I'm always looking for fun books that do time travel well, but that's rather challenging to find. I'd say this did a decent job with all of that. It was a bit disjointed and hard to follow at times, but it did feel like a stylistic choice rather than simply poor writing. I don't feel particularly compelled to read the rest of the series, but I don't regret reading this one.
A nice, quick, easy and entertaining read that will satisfy plenty of YA sci fi fans. I preferred Crewe's first book, but this was still enjoyable.
I love that time travel and aliens were combined in a way that *actually* made sense. The world-building was very fleshed out, and the romance was a slower-burn in favour of more sci-fi action.
There’s time travel and Aliens, Oh my! Time travel can be confusing and messy but Megan Crewe explains it in a way that isn't confusing so you'll be able to understand.
Our main character Skylar is normal girl with a special ability. She suffers from terrible panic attacks or so she thinks. Win, one of the aliens, wants her help to find a weapon that can destroy the time field so that the aliens can't mess with Earth anymore. Eventually, Skylar agrees to help Win, but it requires a lot of convincing and proof. Win's leader has left clues in the past on how to assemble the weapon, but Sky and Win will need to race through time to find the pieces before the Enforcers intercept them.
Earth & Sky didn't end in a cliffhanger, but there's still much to come for Sky and Win in the future. Earth & Sky is a thrilling, fast-paced introduction to the trilogy.
This book was fantastic! I loved the writing and the vivid descriptions and details. I love the human planet elements. Skylar was awesome ans super smart! What a great time I had reading about her and Wen..I loved the Sci Fi element.and hope to see more from this author.
Another average teen novel with average characters and not over-the-top interesting plot. I'm thinking of stopping requesting teen titles altogether from now on.

It took me a really long time to get through this book. When I first received the arc, I tried reading it, but I just wasn't in the mood for it. So I put it down, and forgot about it for a while. I finally decided to pick it back up, and start from the beginning.
You pretty much know going into time travel books that you kinda just have to go with it. Every author has their own way of how time travel works, but all of them are just beyond that frame of believability. So I generally don't fault a book for its time traveling concepts, because I know I'm just gonna have to go with whatever the author has come up with. I did think Crewe had an interesting concept for her time travel, though the time traveling cloth was a bit odd. It reminded me in a way of a poor mans TARDIS, though they're really not the same.
Skylar took a little to grow on me. I understood why she was the way she was, but I just couldn't connect with her at first. I liked Win a little more. Sure, he comes off as a bit of a jerk at first, but I could understand his motivations and means a little better. I do wish they had more characterization though. We really don't know much about Win besides the fact that he's fighting to free Earth, and all that's really known about Sky is she senses things are wrong and is troubled by her brothers disappearance.
Now the whole thing about humans really being Kemyans is where things got a little frustrating. This book is basically about aliens enslaving Earth, and then we find out the humans and the aliens are the same. Everything is the aliens fault.
The book then pretty much gets rid of the idea of evolution, stating that all fossils and such were faked. But the book doesn't say how long the Kemyans have been here. What year did they come? When did they decide that "human history" started? How did they fake millions of years of history on the planet? This whole revelation I didn't like as much. It made the whole plot feel a little more far fetched that it was at first, especially because there was so much left unexplained. I don't know if it's covered in the sequels, but I would sure hope so.
This isn't a bad book, but there are definitely things that need addressed to make it work.
(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)
Seventeen-year-old Skylar has been haunted for as long as she can remember by fleeting yet powerful sensations that something is horribly wrong. But despite the visions of disaster that torment her, nothing ever happens, and Sky’s beginning to think she’s crazy. Then she meets a mysterious, otherworldly boy named Win and discovers the shocking truth her premonitions have tapped into: that our world no longer belongs to us. For thousands of years, life on Earth has been at the mercy of alien scientists who care nothing for humans and are using us as the unwitting subjects of their time-manipulating experiments. Win belongs to a rebel faction seeking to put a stop to it, and he needs Skylar’s help to save the world and keep the very fabric of reality together.
This was a bit of a mix for me. At times, I thought it was heading for a really great review - then there were times whether I wondered if I would even finish it...
The good: It was refreshing to read a YA novel that wasn't about vampires/fallen angels etc or a dystopian setting. This one really kicked a big goal for me in that regard. Sci-Fi, aliens, time-travel - some really promising traits there for a good book. Also, I appreciated that the "romance" between Skylar and Win wasn't a case of "insta-love" - I think that, at some point in the future, will hook up but, for this book, they spent more time getting to know each other and that was good with me.
The not-so-great: Skylar...she was not a character that I found easy to like. A bit whiny, a bit naïve, a bit too much for me. Also, the world-building was absent - everything was either half-explained (knowing there was more books to come...oh, I hate that! Just tell the story already!) or vague, leaving me feeling rather frustrated. Worse still, the first half of the book was extremely slow and I really had to push to get through.
Will I read future stories in this series? I will track down Book 2 and give it a try...

I couldn't get into this book and didn't finish it. Not what I thought it would be. It didn't hold my interest. I kept skipping ahead hoping it would get better or interesting but it didn't.
*I never got around to reading and reviewing this book. I may do so in the future*
did not finish. Time travelling aliens are not appealing. Sorry not my cup of tea
