I was intrigued when I saw this book, a bloke talking about random objects from his past and I found it so interesting and comforting. I too have many memories sparked from simple objects and this was an absolute treat to read. The author was at times happy and at times melancholy. No spoilers but even the orange plastic box with a cracked lid brought back very fond memories.
Superb and a brilliant idea.
A truly unique memoir the authors life told through the objects he took from his childhood home when it was being sold.He shares memories of each object with his son ,playing occasional games of chess with this set books his dad read so many objects.Through these objects we meet his parents, relatives, neighbors we are shown his lovely relationship with his parents the life the three of them shared a warm sweet family. This is a wonderful original memoir that I will be recommending.#netgalley #troubadorbooks
