A happy family but one work trip will change everything. Her husband is missing for a week and when he shows up again he has changed.
This is just the start of the twists and turns in this unexpected story.
A great entertaining read.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read and review this story.

I received this book as an Arc copy from the publisher.
I wish I could say I liked it, but I didn’t. At all.
I tried to get into this and like the characters but it was all so unrealistic and just too many people. I didn’t care about the main characters, much less all the additional ones with additional/semi included story lines.
I was just disappointed in this and I hate to say it.

Never Come Backstory follows Rowan and Wyatt, a married couple whose lives unravel after Wyatt returns from a mysterious business trip to Mexico City, hiding a shocking truth behind a huge scar. Their young son, Landon, is abducted shortly after Wyatt’s return. Are these two events related? Why is Wyatt hiding the reason for his scar?
The book keeps you guessing. The twists are unpredictable! This is the first time I read a book with this theme so I found it very interesting. Highly recommended for fans of dark, multi-layered thrillers.

When my husband went missing I was desperate to get him home. Now I know his secrets, I wish he’d never come back… Great read! This book took me a bit to get through! I kept going back to it?! In the end I’m so glad I did! It was a great book! It had great suspense, murder, kidnapping, stealing body parts, family secrets, and some wild twists!! The story was very interesting! I highly recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Wyatt goes on a business trip to Mexico City and wakes up in a bathtub in serious pain and no clue what happened. His wife Rowan is back at home frantically trying to figure out what is going on. Wyatt does return home but he is a little shady about what really happened while he was gone. When their son goes missing shortly after Wyatt returns, they have to figure out if the two incidents are related and if so, how??
I never would have predicted the direction this book went. It was definitely twisty and I can honestly say, I had no idea how everything was going to tie together in the end! Not only does it show the seedier side of the internet as Rowan has to learn about the dark web in order to track down her son, but it also demonstrates just how far someone will go for the ones they love. This one was a one day read and I truly enjoyed it!
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy that I was provided in exchange for my honest review.

This book definitely has a unique concept. I don’t think I’ve read anything dealing with the topics of organ harvesting and the dark web. The author did a great job of tying the many elements of the story together.
This story is centered around Wyatt and Rowan, and their growing family. Wyatt disappears on a business trip, and when he finally returns home, their son Landon goes missing. Are the two disappearances related? If so, how?
I was impressed how the author managed to tie all the elements of this story together. There were several revelations that I did not see coming.
I highly recommend if you enjoy complex crime thrillers with multiple points of view.

Fast paced
I liked this book. It was a fast read and kept my attention. A man went to Mexico City for work, was drudge while having a drink with a woman in his hotel’s restaurant, and wound up having his kidney stolen, He didn’t want to tell his super jealous wife the whole story, so he lied and said he was mugged. When their son is kidnapped a little later, she finds out the truth. And he finds out a lie that she has been telling him.
Nobody in the book is likeable, even their kidnapped son. Well, maybe one of the bad guys, but otherwise they are all jerks.
There were some holes/unlikely plot points (like the length of time he worked for his start-up company. What bothered me most was not the incongruities of the author, but the publisher. The book blurb I read was not accurate and didn’t seem to be the same book I read. The boy was not kidnapped in a mall. The wife had no reason to want her husband to “never come back”. The title makes no sense. That seems to be more and more common and drives me crazy. The book was good on its own. Perhaps something like “The Network” (the name of the cartel that was behind the organ theft) would be better.

This was a good book but not at all what I expected. Wyatt goes to Mexico City for a job and wakes up in a bathtub. Meanwhile his controlling, out of control wife can’t get ahold of him. Enter Wyatt’s best friend, and four year old Landon who also play big roles in this book. What is going on with Wyatt? Why is he lying to Rowan? And what else is everyone lying about??

I really liked this book! I love a good psychological thriller, and this one was good with good pacing, and a good buildup of suspense. There were so many twists and turns in this book and the ending was not predictable, which I liked.
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

TRIGGER WARNING This book contains themes of organ harvesting and child abduction.
This dark thriller follows a wife whose husband mysteriously vanishes on a business trip. When his company finally get in touch they say he’s fine but has been mugged and is in hospital. When he finally returns home she knows something isn’t right with him and he is being really evasive about what happened out there and then when her young son is taken from a crowded tourist attraction it turns out things are taking an even darker turn and some secrets they all thought were buried will not stay secrets for long and threaten to destroy this family.
I could not put this book down.

Cara Reinard has done it again. Her books always have plenty of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out she will surprise you.

This quick read, written by a talented author, is intriguing, mysterious...the title captured my attention. Realistic characters keep the story moving quickly, along with red herrings and secrets. I kept guessing. I kept wondering what would happen next. Enjoy this novel. Thanks Netgalley.

Rowan's husband Wyatt is away on a business trip and disappears off the radar. Initially, Rowan is angry with Wyatt, but as time goes on, she becomes increasingly worried. Eventually, she hears from him and discovers he was mugged and his phone was stolen, but he is en-route home to her and their four year old son, Landon. When he does come home, however, he is acting strangely, in obvious pain and with a fresh scar across his side - not the kind you get in a mugging! And then things go from bad to worse when Landon goes missing, abducted from under Rowan's nose.
The plot is very clever, a bit different and fast paced, making it a compelling read with some shocking twists that I really didn't see coming.
Some people will go to any lengths to protect the ones they love, even if it means other lives are lost along the way.
4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Cara Reinard and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I had to re-read the synopsis before writing my review because, after careful consideration, I’ve decided the reader should go in as fresh as possible. What we know is that Rowan is married to Wyatt, who is stubborn, impulsive and constantly away on business. Rowan is anxious and insecure, as well as pregnant, and she’s not happy that he’s heading to Mexico City for a week, leaving her alone with their energetic four-year-old, Landon.
After Wyatt leaves for his trip, he goes incommunicado. Rowan is furious, but as the days go on, she also becomes more scared. Finally she hears from him - he was mugged and they stole his phone, but he’s on his way home. When he gets home, he’s moody and isolating himself…maybe to hide the giant scar he now has? In an effort to lighten things up, Rowan takes Landon to see the Liberty Bell, but this story gets crazy when her son disappears.
I was very surprised by this book; I read a lot of thrillers, and this was a unique concept. I kept thinking how implausible the story was, but for all I know, it’s exactly how things happen. (I can’t tell you what things, but yes, there are definitely things.) This crime thriller had a lot of suspense, a bit of action, a couple of HUGE surprises, and some very unreliable but very entertaining characters! Four stars.
(Thank you to Bookouture for inviting me on this book tour! “Never Come Back” is slated to be released on February 11, 2025.)

When you have suffered when you were young because of something that happened in your everyday life, it's only natural you swear that if someone would treat you that way, you would never accept it and the relationship would be over in an instant without a doubt. I could not agree more with that statement.
Well, some might want to takea look in the mirror before they start suspecting and judging others.
This story shows how desperate people often go for desperate solutions and when things are going horribly wrong, the ball that started rolling cannot be stopped anymore.
The police has to follow rules and so does everyone else, but when you can't see any other way out anymore, you bend the rules in your favor and that lasts until it stops and you have to face the consequences.
And so lives are wasted and shattered and families are ripped apart for ever.
It seems like this story has a lot of characters who don't know the meaning of the word honesty and that of course makes it easier to fabricate a twisty and complex book.
I enjoyed it and it kept my brain alert. 5 stars
Thank you
