I've read bits of this manga in the past, but it's nice to refresh my memories before the English physical copies are released next month! The art style is easily one of my favorites and the overall story is a fun and quick read that will buildup as we get more volumes. School romance shoujo mangas are always an entertaining and comforting choice for me so I obviously ate this one up as well. This first volume may feel uneventful, but it's more of an introduction to the characters.
Once again, thank you Kodansha for picking this series up for the intl audience and translating it. ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡ I look forward to volume 2
Fall in love, You False Angels is actually quite popular in jp and has 1 million copies in circulation despite being a newer series with an anime in the works for it as well.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC!

Otogi and Toki both pretend to perfect in front of everyone else, but they both secretly have a hidden side that they only share with each other. I thought that this was so cute! I loved seeing how comfortable the two of them were around each other. Plus the artwork is so gorgeous! I’m excited to see where the story goes from here.

I was wary of the comparison to Kaguya-sama: Love Is War in the description of this book, as those are BIG shoes to fill. But it absolutely does the job. This book was a very fun read, and the characters had me swooning. The art style is also very beautiful and detailed, but doesn't shy away from getting a little silly at times- exactly what I want from my romantic comedy manga. I will absolutely be reading this manga as more comes out, and I'm excited to see how the relationship between the main characters will further develop.

Thank you to Net Galley and Kodansha for the e-ARC!

This was such a fun read! I love the duality of Otogi and Toki - seeing them express both sides of their personalities to each in volume one already has me so excited to continue reading this series. I really enjoyed seeing how both protagonists used their images to their advantage to manipulate situations, and cannot wait to see how this is added to. I love both Otogi and Toki as characters already - the character building and depth for Otogi in volume one was well crafted and already gives us a good insight into her character: I cannot wait to get more insight into Toki!

I highly recommend this to shoujo fans! It is so refreshing to read a shoujo like this where both love interests are 'two-faced' and yet are able to show their true selves to each other. I will patiently await the English release for volume 2!

this was super cute! I love the concept of the popular kids having secret sides to their personalities. their interactions already had me kicking my feet and giggling i can’t wait to see what happens from here! i’d love to learn more about both of them and their back stories. so far it’s very sweet!

Hmmm 3.5 I liked it. It has a charm that makes me want to read more but it doesn’t feel very unique or swoon-ish. Two people that are overly kind in the public’s eye find that they can let there hair down so to speak around one another and their friendship and potential romance will bloom from there.

first i loved the art, it's so gorgeous i will continue the series simply for it, the plot was fun to read but still a little weak, im hoping it's just to set the premise and vol 2 carries more weightage

What happens when two people always put on a front in front of others? They are bound to slip at some point. Katsura is known throughout the school as the Madonna, let her true self slip in front of the school vice president, Toki Ninomae, who is known as the perfect boy. As they get to know each other, Katsura is having a difficult time managing how she is feeling for him.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review!

This was a fast paced manga with a simple premise about two high school students hiding their true selves from the world. The art is stunning and the simple paneling made it easy to follow through the story. (Even though I wished that the paneling could have been more experimental at times.)

Nonetheless, I feel that the story is still a bit rushed with how fast the story instantly made the fml fall in love with the ml. I would have preferred it if the story delved deeper into the character’s motivation and psychology behind their need to hide their true selves from each other. We didn’t really have a chance to understand why our fml or ml acted a certain way which made it hard for me to be fully invested into their characters. There’s not much at stake here as compared to other similar romance manga like Kaguya sama or Horimiya.

Moreover, I did wish that Otogi has an upper hand for some part of the story as it was mainly our ml having the upper hand. This could have played out for an interesting dynamic rather than a predictable and repetitive plot.

Overall, a fast paced, lighthearted manga that I think would be perfect for new readers who are exploring this trope instead. Hopefully, we get to see more character development in volume 2.

This was such a sweet and funny story. The artwork is wonderful and I am completely obsessed with the two main characters. Perfect lighthearted read, and I cannot wait to see how Otogi and Toki's relationship develops.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for the opportunity to read this eARC!

I absolutely loved this rom-com! I think that it has a lot of potential for future volumes and I really enjoyed and laughed out loud while reading this.

I love how Otomi Katsura is supposed to be the heartthrob and can basically get anyone she wants to fall for her and then you meet Toki Ninomae and she’s totally smitten with him but he treats her normally. I love how she doesn’t know what to do with that.

“I finally found someone I can be myself with.” AHHHH I love that so much.

3.5 stars, cannot wait for future volumes!

This is a very cute and funny romance series opener. I enjoyed that both MCs are sort of "the worst" but also are humanized in the story. There is a predator story plot that felt a little out of place but perhaps it will connect more to later entries in the series. This is fine for high school but I would have a little reservation having it in junior high.

She’s the perfect beauty, the Heartthrob angel. He’s just perfect. He treat everyone equally and with respect. The president and the vice president. Together they make the perfect couple. But what if he had a hidden side? They become partner in crime. They are false angels.

Published by Kodansha and available February 11, 2025, Fall In Love, You False Angels is a shojo high school romance. I was interested because the summary likened it to Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, which I do like. This series follows two perfect model students who both have secret, darker sides. I don't think this part is very well represented, all they do with their other sides is be more assertive (while still being good) and I may be missing some cultural context but I just think that part of the story is rather underdeveloped. The art is really nice and the characters overall are cute and likeable, so maybe time will bring out more of their characterization. This is, after all, just the first volume.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ Pretty FL and ML
⊹ ࣪ ˖ Funny character interactions
⊹ ࣪ ˖ Fast paced

I've read many rom-com mangas with similar “hidden-personality” tropes, where the main characters conceal their true selves from others. However, this manga pleasantly surprised me by revealing the MCs' secrets to each other in the very first volume instead of building suspense for a reveal, which is nice to see. It is pretty fast-paced, which suits me just fine, but I have a feeling the pacing will even out as the series continues.

There isn't much romance going on YET, but the interactions between the FL and ML are so cute and funny that I couldn't stop smiling every time they're in the same panel. The FL clearly brings the rom-com comedy to the table with her train of thought and reactions, though.

There's not much I can say about the art other than IT'S BEAUTIFUL. This is definitely an art style that I personally like; one that is pretty but not overly detailed, and the mangaka beautifully renders even the supporting characters. Of course, the side characters are not as 𝑓𝑢𝑤𝑎 𝑓𝑢𝑤𝑎 and 𝑘𝑖𝑟𝑎 𝑘𝑖𝑟𝑎 as the MCs.

Overall, I loved the first volume and can definitely wait for the second one to let the mangaka and translators cook ( ´ ▽ ` )b

This was a fun and light read. Because of the short length the events and relationship development felt quite rushed, but I loved the art style and character design. I'm excited to see how the series continues!

Thank you to Kodansha Comics for providing this advanced copy for review via NetGalley!

⟡ Thank you to NetGalley, Kodansha Comics and Coco Uzuki for this copy to read and review! ⟡

✎ I tend to have a very varied taste when it comes to manga as I'm usually up for pretty much all genres (I should probably say that carefully...) and art styles and this one especially is one of my favourite types of art styles!! Each panel was just stunning - though the two leads don't need me telling them that because well they seem to have a good grasp on their own attractive qualities in this story for sure 🤣 and as for the story, it was fun and cute, and very lighthearted - I always like when characters have hidden sides or a little something they like to keep secret, so I personally really liked it! Honestly, overall, it flowed really well and would definitely be interested in seeing where the story goes in the next volume! 🩷

⟡ If you're looking for a cute, and fun manga with an absolutely stunning art style, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try! ⟡

In high school and in life we all wear masks. There’s the side of ourselves that we let our peers see and the side that only our family is privy to. All of these sides make up our whole. Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninome are still figuring out this dichotomy and each other as well. Their journey is only just beginning but, it’s already off to a fantastic start and I can’t wait to see where this goes.
Many thanks to Kodansha and NetGalley for the arc! :)

Ah! What a sweet love story. I could not get enough of it. This is perfect for any romance readers who love dreamy stories. The dynamic between the MCs was so engaging and lovely. I hope this series will continue for many volumes.
