This feels like a crossover between Horimiya and Love is War and im here for it!!!

In the beginning I was very annoyed of the repetitiveness. I Understand that the point of this story is that they’re hiding their real personalities but it became super repetitive in the beginning it was considering not finishing. And finally the “big reveal” wasn’t as big as it should have been considering how much it was being mentioned. It’s giving Game of thrones, “winter is coming” for like 8 seasons but then it isn’t as big a deal as it should have been when it finally arrives. Well similarly the MC’s keep their real personality a secret and when finally something happens to make them reveal themselves to the other, what happens to make this happen isn’t a huge deal. For example no matter how nice I am if im being harassed after rejecting a guy and they wont leave me alone, it isn’t surprising if I snap and speak up for myself to make him leave me alone right? Well why was this the reason her real personality was discovered because she had enough of a drunk dude and snapped?!? (Eye roll)

Don’t get me wrong though I really liked this Manga the story was cute and the MMC was *swoon* The FMC reminds me of that one annoying girl from Saiki K that everyone was in love with but we could hear everything she though because of Saiki so she was super annoying. But because of the moments where we are able to see her real personality come out with the MMC I personally took a liking to her since its explained why she is the way that she is.

This sounds like a negative review but it’s really only one thing that I found negative and focused on it. But the story was really fun to read I couldn’t get enough I was very sad when it ended. I can’t wait for the next volume to come out!!!

Also in the beginning the first two pages of the manga were in color so I was super excited but then I turned to the third and it as back to black ink. Not a deal breaker but I was a bit disappointed :(

The art style is very cute. The story does not have that much depth to it, but it is still very fun. I overall really enjoyed reading it and would recommend to anyone looking for lighthearted manga.

An interesting first volume, would definitely love to keep reading the series as it comes out. However, I do notice that the main premise of the manga does get lost in translation, but it can't be helped and doesn't really take away from the story necessarily, just an interesting thing to notice if you understand some aspects of Japanese culture.

A new book boyfriend has been added to my list, and my heartfelt gratitude goes out to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Trigger/Content Warning: inexplicit sexual harassment, serial assault, pedophile, social pressure, mild cussing

"Fall in Love, You False Angels" by Coco Uzuki is a rom-com manga that delivers the perfect cozy, lovey vibe of February. I have never heard of this shojo series before and one of the things that instantly drew my attention was the title of the series. It's catchy, cute, and it invoke curiosities. I am so excited that I was able to "Read Now" through Netgalley.

Are you really yourself, or are you an identity based on the expectations of others?

The storyline centers around Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninomae, who, contrary to popular belief, are far from who they are deemed among their peers and society. Katsura learned from a young age that there are certain expectations of who she should be as a person and that people pay more attention when her personality matches her outward appearances. Thus, she developed somewhat of a double-life and, unfortunately, must keep up the facade as she enters her first year of high school. Her role as the President of the Student Council makes it even more imperative that she maintains the persona of the school's "Madonna." Enters her Vice President, Toki, and well, let just say that high school wouldn't be high school without a little drama.

This manga had me smirking and dare I say it, kicking my feet and just giggling at every little silly moment between the two main characters. Katsura's delulu lovey dovey moments were kinda refreshing in a way that it felt natural for it to happen.

The art style is gorgeous and very far from the vibe I usually pick when it comes to reading shoujo manga. The lines and features are interesting to look at. There is a distinct raw edge that somehow pairs well with the big eyes and expressive faces. I love the dynamic poses and action sequences. I also love that you get a little bit more detailed background. This doesn't overshadows the characters at all, rather it contributes to the overall asethetic and atmosphere of the storyline.

My only take is that I wished there was a trigger/content warning placed in the beginning of the book. While that may annoy some people, it is better to include it as there was a subject matter included in this first volume that can be triggering for some readers.

Overall, such an amazing read for me and I will absolutely be continuing with the series! I highly recommend this for teens 14 and up due to the subject matters addressed in the series. If you like Yuki Shiwasu's "Tamon’s B-Side" and Suu Morishita's "Sign of Affection", then you will like "Fall in Love, You False Angels".

Thank you again to Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for this opportunity!

This manga follows in the footsteps of His and Her Circumstances without feeling like a tired retread. With many classic shojo elements and a fun style, it takes a thoughtful look at the pressure some people put on themselves to meet expectations, at the cost of being sincere. Initially somewhat annoying, the characters quickly grew on me the more they interacted and dropped their masks. The exploration of genuine connection and authenticity has moments both silly and endearing, while the pace kept me engaged right to the end. My only disappointment is having to wait to read more.

Just like [book:ホリミヤ 1 Horimiya 1 |16155151] which I adore, I adore this new manga that plays off of the same trope which is that two characters discover a different side of their personas that they vow to keep secret (which ultimately also means they fall in love too).

In this one, the school's "Madonna" Otogi and the school's good looking and awesome boy Toki are pleasant to each other at school and see how each other is with classmates but when they end up waiting for the train together and Otogi has to give a few stupid drunk boys a piece of her mind, Toki can't help but appreciate this aggressive style and he's got one too. Together they decide that these special moments are actually driving them together.

A romantic slice of life story.

This was so good. I love the art style. That is what drew me in the most. Also the character dynamics, just great. I can’t wait to read more of the manga.

It definitely hits my top manga list of the year!

Beautifully painted, funny and romantic story about two students that have two-faced identities and, on that same ground, become friends (for now).

Highly recommended!!!

This book is cute for the most part but their "dark side" is them just sticking up for themselves and for other people. That's not having a dark side lol... that's just being a normal human being. I just found it a bit boring and also rushed. If it was slowed down, I would enjoy the two main characters alot more.

Thank you Net Galley and Publisher for the book to review.

The way I absolutely ate this up!!! This was one of my favorite reads of 2025 so far, and it has only just started. Both the FMC and MMC are the nicest and untouchable people at their school, but they hid their true personalities. The FMC is so funny to watch fall in love with the MMC since she is the school's untouchable "Madonna" and she's not supposed to fall for others. My favorite scene is when the MMC calls her a badass for standing up for herself and then he shows his true colors. I cannot wait to keep reading to see more of his true personality and if they end up together. I love the art style and the characters, this is going to be an incredible series.

I loved the Manga Fall in Love, You False Angels by Coco Uzuki. I loved reading the love story between the main characters and how they became close it was very cute. I love the art in the Manga as well as the cover it fits the story well. I can't wait to read the next book.

The art is adorable, characters are loveable, and I really like the relationship between them. They both have hidden personalities and Otogi accidentally lets her mask slip when some boys annoy her. So, the vice president (her classmate) ends up slipping up and showing his real personality too.

I would definitely recommend the volume to anyone who likes high school rom coms.

Thanks to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for an eARC of this book.

I can’t wait to grab volume 2 and read more about them.

I really enjoyed this introductory volume. The reveals of their "true personalities" were funny and set us up for an interesting dynamic between them and the rest of the characters. I'm interested to see where the series goes, and I love that it's not a typical "good girl, bad guy" or vice verse. The art style is also gorgeous and really matches the story's feel. Overall a good first volume with lots of potential.

The premise of this manga slightly inflates what really is going on. I started reading expecting someone like Koshi Torako from My Deer Friend Nokotan, who hides her past—maybe violent, kinda mean. But no, Otogi Katsura secretly just stands up for herself. I wanted to get that clear for everyone who is considering picking up this manga, so you don’t feel underwhelmed in that aspect, because this manga is simply perfect.

Tell you what, Fall In Love, You False Angels, Vol. 1 is my first favourite book of the year. It didn’t get 5 stars, it got a Heart, and that in my rating language, means perfection. The best.

One of the major highlights is the beautiful graphics—they make it so easy to fall in love with every page. The character design for each of them is simply perfect

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this ahead of publication! This is going to be a hit in my house for sure. If you liked Kaguya-sama: Love is War, I really think you will enjoy Fall in Love, You False Angels. I think Otogi and Toki are really fun characters to read and I know this will continue to be such a intriguing story.

I have already preordered volumes 2 and 3. I'm excited for this to be added to my growing manga collection.

A very sweet high school romance series with characters presenting themselves as the ideal soft spoken competent student council members, but who both are hiding their true selves in public. Coco Uzuki's art is gorgeous, and the way they draw hair is especially lovely! It's nice to see long haired teen male characters represented as well in a modern day setting. A very solid series that I would rec to any shoujo fan.

I don’t usually read manga, but I decided to give this one a chance because the cover immediately caught my eye. The artwork throughout was absolutely stunning, and I really appreciated the visual storytelling. Unfortunately, the story itself wasn’t the right fit for me. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read it.

Thank you so much to Kodansha Comics for providing me with the ARC of this book.

I am trying to get back into reading manga and this really helped. Fall in Love, You False Angels gave me so much more faith and excitement for manga coming out this year and I really enjoyed this. Did I think this was Yuri when requesting it? Yes, I did. Is it Yuri? No, it is not, but I still loved it all the same the art is gorgeous and the characters are a little different than I was expecting. I love that she has a special name for him and how they feel like they can be themselves around each other. This was sweet and cute and I look forward to reading the next one!

Katsura and Ninomae hold "perfect" images at school, but they both have a secret side. During a small slip-up, Katsura reveals her true nature and so does Ninomae. When Ninomae's true nature is revealed he asks Katsura to be his "partner in crime" and her heart can't help but beat fast. What's going to happen in this secret arrangement???

Ahhhhh I'm totallyy in love with this series!!! I've had my eye on this ever since I saw snippets of the original Japanese version and am so happy it got translated! Can't wait for the next volume!!!

***ARC from NetGalley***

This was a fun read. I think, based on the clues given, the two main characters are approximately 14 years old? First year president and vice president in high school. Otogi and Toki are perfect and the envy of all. And it's all a facade. They soon discover the true nature of each other and find themselves falling for each other. The reason I am confused on their age is that there are times in the story they are absolutely young kids in school and in others, more like they are in college. That is both in the maturity of the story line and the way they are depicted in both their appearance and speech.

Great graphics, really enjoyed the full color pages. Looking forward to reading further editions.
