i loved this so much! It’s been awhile since I read any manga set in a high school setting, and I’m so glad I picked this one up because I really enjoyed it and it made me feel like I was back in high school. I literally cannot wait for the sequel now!

This is my first ARC!!!


Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninomae are our MCs. They both serve as School President and Vice President of their respective schools.

The students admired them so much and thinks they're Angels.

As you can see from the title of the book, they are False Angels. Means they hide their true selves from everyone. When an event occurs, they both discover that they have different personalities, which leads to them becoming closer.

 In this story, how the main characters hide their true personalities reminds me of how we sometimes hide our true selves to fit in with society.

We are yet to witness how the False Angels will come to love one another, knowing that they have fake personalities and are the same.

The whole school council thing and hiding their true selves reminds of  Kaguya-Sama: Love is War. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves shoujo!

As a quick and easy read, I really enjoyed Fall In Love, You False Angels and I can't wait to see the False Angels in Volume 2.

I usually do not review mangas but this particular one just stole my heart. The art style was so beautiful and I got a huge crush on the mmc. The storyline was lightheaded, interesting and medium paced. The only complain that could find was that; it was a bit confusing to understand which dialogue belongs to whom.

Overall it was a quick and fun read.

first things first, the art style is so adorable. i love it!!!

this cute first volume has period caretaking, nicknames, a creepy teacher getting exposed... what more could you want?

but fr this is really sweet and funny! <3 it's definitely kaguya-sama and horimiya inspired, but it's unique enough that i would still recommend it. tbh i'm still not tired of the "hidden sides" trope we see in a lot of anime and manga lol. and i loved the fmc's confidence / cockiness!

as i mentioned before, trigger warning for a creepy predator going after his underage students... but the book handles it amazingly.

Fall In Love, You False Angels Volume 1 by Coco Uzuki follows Toki Ninomae and Otogi Katsura who are the definition of brains and beauty, capturing all of their classmates hearts.. but at what cost? Katsura is known as her schools “Madonna” having everybody fall in love with her based off her looks, but in all actuality it’s just a facade she’s not cute or shy at all. Katsura soon realizes that her student body VP classmate, Ninomae, is the same way as her, a total badass. Throughout this story we see them grapple with how they should be viewed when society sees them (well put together, kind and helpful) versus how they are when they are in private (strong, beautiful, rebellious and sarcastic). I love how once they revealed how they truly are to each other they found a safe space and soon developed a crush on each other.

Otogi Katsura, first-year high schooler and class president, is known as the school's "heartthrob angel". To everyone she is the sweetest and kindest around, but the real Katsura is no angel, she's actually the complete opposite. An afterschool mishap causes a slip up in front of her fellow student council member, Toki, but although he also shows the image of perfect student, he is anything but.

The art style is great and although this is was a quick read, the story flows at a steady and comfortable pace. Fans of rom cons and slice of life are sure to love this and personally I can't wait for volume 2 to see how their relationship progresses. And how they will balance being true to themselves and the image they uphold for others.

Omg I need volume 2 like right this second I absolutely love it. The most popular girl and boy in school otogi katsura or the heartthrob angel as they call her is sweet as well as sassy and it's hard not to fall in love with her but she must keep her sass under wraps and then there is, toki ninomae who is just yummy. I can't get enough of him and them, the ultimate power couple.

So here's the gist of it, both of our main characters have to maintain their perfect presidential personas for the public while they hide who they truly are and only feel safe around each other while ultimately falling for each other and it's the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Can't wait to read more of this series.

What happens when two perfect people meet each other? They find out how imperfect they actually are. These two teens have everyone fooled...except for each other. Beautiful, graceful, polite, reserved on the outside and sassy, bold, and goofy on the inside. Very cute little volume. I'm not rushing to get the next one, but I'm intrigued. I think that preteens and younger teenagers would enjoy this. The artwork is beautiful and there are some funny moments as well. I'm obviously not the target audience, but I enjoyed it.

It's the classic 'Popular sweet girl is actually a devil' and in this case so is the boy. I actually like their darker side more and so do they themselves. It's funny how they call it the dark side.
The story goes like this: The class madona develops a crush on the popular and sweet boy and accidentally let's out her darker side ( involves cussing, recklessness etc.) in front of her crush. And the boy too inturn let's out his dark side and they decide to keep each other's secret.

They become comfortable with each other and can freely express their real self with each other. It's fun to see the cooler side of the ML, the FL is already so cool. I can't wait till they get together!

If you are a fan of cute romances, go for it.

This was so fun!! I love how they can show their “other” side to one another. I think this will be a really fun series seeing these two fall for each other and seeing what trouble they get up to!

This manga was really unique! At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it because the two main characters are the “angels of the school” so they are beloved by everyone. Once the story continued and the MMC’s true colors showed the story got more interesting. Toji was really funny and had me cracking up out loud. I’m curious how the rest of the series will be so I will definitely give the second volume a read!

3.5 stars. The art holds most of this series' charm. Despite comparisons to Horimiya, this is a softer romantic comedy that leans heavily on slice-of-life, lacking the bite and coarseness of its more comedic contemporaries.

After the initial set-up, I felt each chapter read like a loosely connected and beautifully drawn vignette. There is no central thread beyond Otogi and Toki's relationship, and, unfortunately, their false angel identities lack the depth to provide much drama between the two.

Though their classmates may be surprised Otogi and Toki speak casually, and even rudely, outside of school, their hidden selves are not provocative, punk, or delinquent. The times we see them "acting out," they are defending themselves and others against perverts. What exactly are the stakes here? Why do Otogi and Toki strive for perfection in public, and how would their true selves risk those goals, if at all?

While I enjoy slow burns and slice-of-life, there is a propulsive element missing here. Otogi is constantly in fear of discovery, but there is no reason why she should be. Her discomfort with her feelings for Toki is the more compelling plot, but the volume quickly retreads the same ground in each chapter, with Otogi always a step behind Toki and no reversals in fortune between them.

I found myself craving something darker in this volume that could contrast the beautiful facades Otogi and Toki have crafted and elevate the writing to the same level of quality as the art. I'll pick up the next volume with the hope that perhaps there we will discover something more scandalous—and interesting—about our leads and their insistence on upholding the status quo.

The premise of this manga is basically that we contain multitudes... For better and for worse. This doesn't just show in the main characters but in pretty much everyone around them.

The way that this is explored through the main characters is pretty interesting. I didn't exactly feel that they were that different from what they present as at school, just that they act in less polished and calm ways.

However, there were a few moments where I found Katsura's personality drawing my interest as she shows that more self-oriented side of her. I'm hoping that it gets explored more in future volumes because it's kinda fun to have a character who's very confident in her good looks and intelligence but doesn't act like a meanie.

I also really liked Ninomae's character and appreciate that we got to know a little bit more about him towards the end.

The story arc we got as they helped their classmate deal with a creepy professor was also nice, but after it, I really wished there'd been more of those scenes where Katsura fights for herself as opposed to being rescued by Ninomae, even in the small stuff. The romance also feels a bit too instantaneous, I'm hoping the pacing on that gets slower in the next volumes or that other aspects of the story step forward so it doesn't remain the principal focus on Katsura's side.

Still, this was a really good first volume that I had lots of fun reading. The art is just gorgeous and I think this is one of the few manga I've read that has really distinct and interesting character designs. Everyone, including side characters, feels unique and I'd love to know more about Katsura and Ninomae's friends in the future.

I highly recommend this read to people who enjoy super chill slice-of-life mixed with romance. I think if you're a fan of Horimiya, like me, you'll enjoy this!

Dive into this romcom between two angel-faced class representatives who have a hidden dark side! These two heart-throbs have the school sighing dreamily every day when their real personalities couldn’t be farther from the persona they present themselves as.

Otogi Katsura is our main female lead. But she’s a little more sharp-tongued and feistier than she lets others see! When she accidentally reveals this side of her to Toki—the class president who she’s highkey in love with—he also shows a side of him that nobody else gets to see. He’s a real treat. I won’t spoil it for you. But he claims that she’s now her “partner in crime,” as they both have skeletons in their closet!

Overall thoughts

Toki is so gorgeous, ohhh my gosh. And my second-lead syndrome strikes again because… can you blame me? Every man in this manga is drop-dead gorgeous. Period. Gushing aside, I enjoyed this manga a lot! It’s sweet, witty, and just an overall enjoyable read!

What a pleasant surprise False Angels was. I saw this manga on my socials and didn’t do much research before reading it. And this is my kind of shojo! It reminded me of the shojo romance I grew up watching, so it brought some really good memories flooding.

For the first volume, the story is strong. It feels like it achieved everything it set out to do and the paneling with the romantic moments, the comedy, and the punchy reveals made this read pretty unforgettable. I don’t know how they’ll incorporate the “hidden personalities” side of the story as they go forward.

Even if their “real personalities” go under the radar, I don’t think the story needs to have it at its forefront! What we have so far works really well and I hope to see some more character development later on! The premise is really fun and it has some of the most endearing leads I’ve met in manga. Overall, I’m really happy with this story and I want to read more of it!

Who is this manga for?

This manga is perfect for Shojo fans looking for a lighthearted read that’s brimming with romance while still adding a hint of humor! And lots of pretty men. And I mean lots.

100/100. Perfect. No notes. I just love reading about hot people problems/drama and having butterflies in my stomach 100% of the time.

Unfortunately, I didn't really like this one. I felt like I was just flipping the pages to finish and could hardly remember what the story was.

This manga was really cute. The story was easy to follow, characters were well fleshed out and the designs of them was really unique. Even their personalities was funny and easy to get along with.
I also love the format of the manga since it was easy to read as well.

First I want to say the artwork in this is truly beautiful! Absolutely love it! As for the story itself it’s okay. I don’t feel I missed anything, everything is steady paced and straight forward. I get the whole “I’m so pretty I have to be nice and perfect” vibe however them saying a couple of words that aren’t even that rash kinda ruin it. I need them to be in like a gang or something. Give me a true alter ego! Other than that it’s a cute read.

Cute shoujo manga. I don’t think I will continue reading it because I don’t really like manga set in high schools anymore, but if I had read this while I was in high school, I probably would’ve really liked it. I do like the art style and the character art. I wish there was more from the guy’s point of view.

This story is so fun and cute. Great pace with lead characters that were easy to grow attached too. Takes the classic troupe of perfect student council students and gives them kind of alternative secret personalities. A very fun twist to a classic character.
It was a lot of fun to see the main female character struggle with the fact she was falling in love with the guy. Her hard core detail at every turn while realizing it's happen was so funny.
Great banter and fun exciting settings. I was giggling throughout the book.
