This was such a fun first volume! The art was stunning, and the story was so much fun. I couldn't put it down!

New romance manga translation. Would highly recommend. Not too novel of a premise but the art is beautiful and characters are fun!

Lucious art and moody characters weren’t enough to prevent me from feeling largely underwhelmed by this much lauded in online spaces series. But I will say that as a first book, I did do enough for me to be interested in at least checking out book 2!

I will still be recommending this to manga lovers….i will have to add in a few caveats though!

Loved the art style. Especially when we saw flashes of emotional shifts. I can see potential in for the story and I enjoyed the beginning, but it felt a little dragged out without giving enough of the two main leads honest interactions.

It wasn't the strongest start, but all the ground work is there for a good series.

It takes one slip Ms.President's mask of perfection for Mr. Vice President to realize he might not be alone anymore.

It’s such an adorable manga! It definitely has Kare Kano vibes. What I love about it so far is how you are thrown into the story fairly quickly. But I’m sure we will learn more about the main characters and their reasons for hiding their true selves as the story progresses.

This feels like it will be a very charming and adorable love story. But I think more importantly it will be a very cute story about their friendship. I’m looking forward to buying this manga when it is released, and I look forward to reading the other volumes.

At a high school, Otogi Katsura and Toki Ninomae are considered the two most popular first years according to the student body. Renowned for their looks, intellect, and elegance, the two are given the title "Heartthrob Angel" by their peers.

Unknowing to the public, the title of "Heartthrob Angel" is opposite to how Otogi behaves in private. Ruthless, flippant, and calculating, she hides these traits because of societal expectations. To the public, she exudes elegance, grace, and beauty so she must behave that way.

All of this is tossed aside when she's accosted by some guys when waiting for the train next to Toki and reveals her true nature. Good news, Toki thought she was a badass! Bad news, Toki isn't the sweet, dainty guy she assumed he was. His true personality is devious, smooth, and rebellious which makes Otogi fall for him even more! This is the story of these two "angels" keeping their true personalities a secret from the public.

This series excels in its artwork. Not just with the leads, but everyone has a look of a soft, elegant aesthetic. It gives a fantasy-like feel to a contemporary story. The author does a good job showing Otogi's shift in personality from when she's in her "customer service" mode and when she's "off the clock".

I really enjoyed Otogi's personality. She's sarcastic, funny, speaks her mind, and is very narcissistic. I think this plays well with the cast . If her fake personality is like Mahiru Shiina from The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, then her true personality would be closer to Yoshino Somei from Yakuza Fiance. She gives a decent quality story an injection of whimsy and fun, even though most of the things I like from her comes from her internal dialogue.

Speaking of story, the narrative is fine. It's a high school romance that contains some story beats reminding me of something from Kaguya-sama: Love is War (mostly around Otogi's internal dialogue) and A Sign of Affection (there's a cafe scene that reminded me of when A Sign of Affection did that with the reoccurring bar).

The author does something interesting with the story and makes chapter 2 diverge from the standard high school romance plot-line the rest of the volume has by writing a detective-like story. While I found the chapter interesting (even though they didn't have to do much on-screen investigation), it's pretty jarring for the story to shift back to a high school romance in the subsequent chapter.

A complaint I have with the volume is that the story shelves Otogi publicly revealing her true personality, only to have Toki do it instead. After chapter 1, the reader will only see her true personality appear during internal dialogues whereas we Toki's true personality publicly appear more often. I feel like this is holding Otogi back from having more standout scenes like she did in the first chapter. That chapter gave the impression that we would receive a balance of both. While we may see Otogi's true personality make a public appearance more often in subsequent volumes, I'm disappointed that we don't see more of it in this one.

Overall, this series would appeal to those who enjoy romance (especially high school romance) titles that has a female lead who isn't afraid to speak their mind and stand up for themselves. I just wished we saw more of that in the volume. I plan on checking out volume 2 just to see if we get more of Otogi's true personality come out.

This is just the first volume and so I think it won't be nice to judge it based on this alone. But the plot was very cliche. Two people who hide behind a facade and eventually fall in love as they see the real person sitting behind.

What beautiful drawings that are presented in this story, in this first volume we find a high school romance where the characters show one side to the public and another in private, has had many moments that have made me laugh.

So I am very excited to have a second volume coming soon.

First of all, the art style is georgeous especially the coloring on the cover! I truly enjoyed the polar opposites of their personality and shown the true themselves only to each other and i bet they will get more comfortable in the future. The humor in this one totally clicked with me and i just can't stop giggling and laughing. Loved how they both so silly and full of satire in their dark mode and i'm here for it. Next volume gonna be wild for sure!

I enjoyed start of the series because both characters are unique and while there are just high school students they seem to be complicated and serious about certain attributes about their lives. I liked the art and especially the main girl's interactions and general thought process.

I love the 'public face/private face' trope, especially in shojo manga, and this was no different! I really liked Otogi's private self-centeredness and candidness of what she wants to portray, and Ikkoku's wild side. Definitely will be following this series and can't wait for more!

"Fall In Love, You False Angels" has a great setup that reminds me of Horimiya—two seemingly perfect students secretly have tough, no-nonsense personalities beneath their polished exteriors. I really enjoyed the premise and the dynamic between Otogi and Toki as they try to outmaneuver each other while keeping up appearances.

That said, the beginning felt a bit confusing, and Otogi’s first intense moment of revealing her true self to Toki was abrupt. She calls him "Dark Toki," but I didn’t really see much difference in his character at first—though it does become clearer later in the volume. Despite that, the story kept me entertained, and I’d love to see it adapted into an anime. Looking forward to how their rivalry (and romance) develops in future volumes!

Beautiful art, interesting and amusing characters, and a unique but decidedly shōjo concept. It's a light romance between two "perfect" high school students whose personalities in private differ greatly from the way they present themselves day-to-day, what more can a girl wish for?

The way the writing juxtaposes the main characters' public façade against their private personalities is amazing. The dialogue perfectly shifts between these two realities, really illustrating how these two characters are constantly switching between these personas themselves.

This was a quick, easy read and I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys a simple, no mess romance (especially for newbies to the manga/shōjo world!). Definitely looking forward to the next (and future) volumes. Fingers crossed for a bit more interpersonal drama, conflict, and angst.

It has been a while since I felt so giggly and totally reading without any pause a manga in a while. The story is about Otogi Katsura who is the Class President and Toki Ninomae the class Vice President. On paper both look charming very pretty, extremely polite top scorers but both have a different side to them which is private to them alone. As we read this comic we get more to see the personalities of the main characters and how a person has faces and sides to them.
The manga is super light hearted, with attention to themes particular to high school. Other than that, the narrative is really fun and I love the art style. The only thing is sometimes I get confused if the person is speaking in their head or making a conversation aloud. Other than that I cannot wait to pick up the net part.

After hearing nothing but positive things about this manga and being drawn to how unique the art style looks compared to other shoujo manga, I'm more than happy to say that Fall in Love, You False Angels has a strong start to its first few chapters.

The first volume introduces Otori Katsura and Toki Ninomae: two popular students at a high school who present themselves as kind, thoughtful individuals to their peers. However, an incident occurs where Otori discovers that Toki has a brash side that changes the way she perceives him, and Toki witnesses the brutally honest side of Otori that she conceals from her public persona. From there, the two grow closer as friends as the pair slowly learn to accept each other's whole personalities.

Aside from being the perfect lighter romance, I enjoy how interactions between Otori and Toki is effectively utilized to show the stark contrast of their inward and outward personas. Their banter makes them feel like a believable pair that I hope doesn't drag out the "will they or won't they" plotline in future volumes. Since this is only the first volume, there's still a lot more that I want to know about Otori and Toki's personal backgrounds, which I wished I got just a little more of within these first initial chapters. The lack of significant supporting characters also has me hoping that more secondary characters will be introduced in future chapters since I'd love to see Otori and Toki's dynamics with different characters besides each other.

I highly recommend picking up this manga if you like romance narratives featuring characters with layers in their personalities.

I really liked the first volume of this new manga! the art style, characters, and dialogue were all very fun and cute, and I like high school setting shoujo stories so it fell perfectly in there.

my only criticisms would be that I think there is a lot of emphasis put on the different sides of them, but it's lacking a bit of 'oomph'. like their secret sides aren't mischevous/superior/not-nice enough for my taste.

that said, super fun, quick and easy read and I'd definitely recommend for any shoujo fans!

Otogi is known to other students as the "Madonna" of her school, perfect and an angel. Toki is also known as perfect, kind, and smart. What people don't know is they both have another side to them they don't want others to see. But when Otogi accidentally messes up and reveals her other side to Toki they start getting closer to each other. They work together to help their fellow students as President and VP of their school and slowly start to get each others other side and possibly having feelings for each other.

I found Toki's character to be interesting, mysterious, and playful at times. Otogi's character is also interesting and tried to be perfect all the time but let a little but of her guard down when she was round Toki. In book 2 I hope to see more of their relationship with each other and their friends.

Overall, I really enjoyed Fall In Love, You False Angels as quick and easy read and look forward to book 2.

I made a mistake. I assumed there would be actual angels in this just based on the title (there wasn't any). Listen I was intrigued by the cover and didn't even bother with the synopsis and that's on me.
The lead couple were very cute but honestly I wanted more villainy, wickedness, and menace. I also desperately need her narcissism turned up to an 11 and then real fun could be had.
But I am invested and I'm curious to see where the story goes from here.

Otogi Katsura has a reputation for being beautiful ever since she enrolled in high school. She is named the president of her class committee. Joining her as vice president is the class pretty boy Toki Ninomae.

Despite being a respectable figure in her class Otogi also has a loud and outspoken side and she is beginning to wonder if Toki has something similar going on.

I loved reading Shojo manga back in high school and this is definitely bringing nostalgia. There is immediate tension between the two lead characters but the energy is very chill and innocent. Definitely a cute palette cleanser if you’re coming off reading something dark and heavy.

The first volume focuses mostly on their interactions. There’s a scenario where they confront a teacher as well and we get to see Toki’s non school vibe. Fall in Love plays by the rules and doesn’t fall into any fan service tropes, which I was thankful for. Both Otogi and Toki are loveable. The art is beautiful too and definitely makes the story very easy to follow.

I would love to see how this series is gonna handle tense moments so I’ll likely keep up with the story.
