Based on the description and title, I was expecting more nature-based, eco poetry - and though the collection begins that way, it quickly veers into cities, social media, and cell phones. Many felt more like songs, which isn't inherently bad. (Poetry classically rhymes.) However, my personal taste leans away from rhyming poetry. Thematically, the poems were more like an exploration of infatuation (perhaps even limerence) rather than love (since many of the poems are reconciling with not truly knowing the person due to that person keeping them at a distance). There are a handful of memorable one liners. ("I don't know you / But I know I loved you / In another life") I liked the illustrations. Recommended for young heartbreak, esepcially those who've experienced limerance.

Thunder and Daisy by Mercedes paradiso took my breath away. It left me staring into the darkness just wondering.

This was such a beautiful book of poetry and I felt every word of it. The way the author was able to make me feel all of the emotions is truly amazing.
The poems were very relatable because they dealt with heartbreak and healing. I think so many others can relate to these feelings and I highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with these emotions.

I’m a big fan of R.H. Sin and Rupi Kaur and I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone who is also a fan.
A beautiful collection of poems that spoke to my soul in ways I don’t even know how to. The cadence and flow of some verses had me very surprised this was the author’s debut. Magical use of language that painted powerfully beautiful visuals in my head at some points and then heartbreaking ones at others. The illustrations were cute.
Received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me the ARC for this book.
An absolutely stunning poetry collection split into two parts.
Thunder left me aching, the heartbreak and loss so relatable. And Daisy was beautiful to read and left me a little tearful a couple of times.
Seeing the progress through the poetry, like reading a story, you're so happy by the end of the book that the author as obviously found something so much better, both within herself and with someone else. It's the kind of self-love journey everyone deserves to have after being hurt so badly.
Excited to read more from this author and will absolutely be buying a physical copy!

A beautiful collection of poems that are incredibly heartfelt, deep from the soul, and mostly, vulnerable. The contrast between the two sections, “thunder” and “daisy,” is very well done. You can feel the darkness of “thunder” drifting away as you sink into the light of “daisy.” I personally really enjoyed the first part of the book! It was giving major TTPD vibes, which was magnificent! Thank you so much to NetGalley and mostly Mercedes Paradiso for this phenomenal debut novel!✨

I was lucky to be given an Arc copy of this book, and it is a nice read, I do love to rrad poetry every now and then, this is a good read.. will I recommend it? Yes!
The reason I gave it a 3 stars, is because the book didn't connect with me like other poetry books Ive read..

Thunder and Daisy by Mercedes Paradiso is a collection of poetry. Split into two chapters –Thunder and Daisy- the poems contained within focus mainly on love and hearbreak.
Thunder and Daisy is a specific type of poetry called instapoetry. This is fairly obvious when reading the book. The poems are intersected with pictures to represent the poem that precedes it. I feel that the pictures aren’t necessary and the poems speak for themselves. The poems in Daisy broke away from the more simplistic ones in Thunder. Seeing the difference between the two chapters was a great way to not have the poetry seem repetitive.
I’m glad I read Thunder and Daisy. I didn’t enjoy every poem included but I could feel the emotions that were put into the entire book. If you’re a fan of poetry, I definitely recommend checking out Thunder and Daisy. Since Mercedes Paradiso includes her plan for releasing a book in the future that will be linked to Thunder and Daisy, I plan on looking into her other works.

A book in two sections, i appreciated the "daisy" (in my opinion "hopefull") part more. Needing it through my own relationship changes. The thing i loved the most about the book is the artwork. I love reading poetry books that have artwork included. The "Daisy" section gave me hope, strength, power. But reading through the "thunder" section made it really difficult. I struggled a lot and that's why it took me so long to read it.

I received “Thunder and Daisy” from the author via NetGalley for the purpose of being an ARC reader. This is my honest review.
Thunder and Daisy is a beautiful collection of poems. While some are lighthearted and playful, others are deep, dark, and emotional. It was the latter that resonated with me the most. Reading this book was like reading about my own thoughts and feelings in ways I had never found to verbalize. Without knowing the details of the author’s experiences, you can still relate to the emotion in her words, demonstrating the universal experiences of love and heartbreak.

Thankyou to Netgalley, The publishers and Mercedes Paradiso for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest review.
Thunder and Daisy is an absolutely beautiful poetry book which I instantly connected with, I also loved the illustrations.
It reminded me Rupi Kaur one of my favourite poets so if you enjoy her works you will love this too.
I look forward to more from this author.

This was great! I related to some of the poems more than other but the writing was beautiful throughout the entire poetry bundle. It kind of made me think of Rupi Kaur. The illustrations are also gorgeous

I thoroughly enjoyed the journey through this book, particularly the powerful transition from self-doubt to self-love. The author does an incredible job of capturing the raw emotions and complexities of navigating these struggles, and it truly resonated with me. The way the poems unfold, moving from insecurity to empowerment, feels incredibly authentic and relatable.
However, a few of the poems felt a bit lacking in depth or impact. While the overall theme was strong, some sections left me wanting a bit more connection or clarity. Despite this, the overall experience was still meaningful, and I found myself reflecting on the messages throughout the day after finishing.
It’s definitely worth the read if you're looking for a heartfelt exploration of self-acceptance and personal growth!

Thunder and Daisy is Mercedes Paradiso's first collection of poetry and just ahead of her debut novel.
I read this pretty quickly but I find poetry reads rather quickly, at least for me. Sadly, only a couple of the poems resonated with me and that's OK. I liked the simple line drawings at the end of some of the poems. It broke up the poems well. I didn't care for the titles at the end of the poems. It made it hard to decipher where some poems ended and where others began. Overall it was a decent book of poetry.
Thank you to NetGalley and Mercedes for the opportunity to read this book. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I wanted to read this and read something I wouldn’t normally pick up, and I’m so happy I did, this was beautiful, I read it over a couple of nights and since have brought more poetry books. I felt more connected to part 2 of this book, and my favourites were **** - you- flowers & ghost.
I can’t wait to read others thoughts on this book.

“thunder and daisy” by Mercedes Paradiso is a collection of poems that are split in two parts. The first part is “thunder” and is mostly comprised of poems about breakups, heartbreak and in general have a more sadder tone to them. The second part is “daisy” and deals with more positive topics such as love, healing, moving on, self-love and so on.
“thunder and daisies” is overall a nice collection of poems and I am curious about Mercedes Paradiso’s future work. :)
Thank you to NetGalley and Mercedes Paradiso for letting me read the ARC.

“i won’t dim my light for yours to shine brighter”
thunder and daisy is a beautiful collection of poetry about everything from heartbreak to self-empowerment. Not only is it full of relatable poetry but it is accompanied by beautiful illustrations relevant to the poems. The poetry itself is very soothing and envelopes you in a big hug. My personal favorites were wasted time, bedtime and swimmer.
I’d highly recommend this collection of poetry to lovers of modern poetry, particularly what has been known as “Instagram poetry” (also happens to be my favorite kind), also to those just staring to read poetry.
Big thanks to Netgalley and Mercedes Paradiso for allowing me to read an E-Arc of this collection.

Thank you to Mercedes and NetGalley for sending me an ARC of Thunder and Daisy in exchange for review.
I loved this. In my head if I were to write poetry it would be exactly like this… but I’m not a poetry writer. Simply meaning this is the exact kind of poetry I love to read so I’m very happy to have been able to read this before launch!
Ocean and the owl was my favorite but they’re all so similarly beautiful, making me feel seen as they can relate to my own personal life even though the author is telling their own story. I also loved not only the imagery within the words but the actual art in between poems. It was a lovely touch!
Thank you so much, this is probably my favorite book of poems I’ve yet to read!

This is the type of poetry I really enjoyed as I first was getting into poetry. The kind thay reflects on relationships and what matters to author. This collection was very enjoyable and had a soothing quality to it. There were plenty of poems that I bookmarked though out the read and the collection felt more polished the further you got into it.
Review will be on GoodReads, Storygraph, and Fable.

This poetry collection was enjoyable to read through. I loved the tie in with the title throughout poems, and I enjoyed the black and white images that followed them as well.
Well done for a debut collection!
Thank you to NetGalley and the published for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
