Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review
This was an amazing murder mystery. I would say when you’re talking about an amateur detective she’s the worst but it makes sense and her powers really cool. I love the ghosts. I felt like it was really well written and put me into this story. I was able to imagine everything really well. The romance was great, nothing bad to say. I recommend !

This was a fun little cozy mystery, and I loved how the ghosts became such an integral part of the story from the start. The characters were interesting and fun, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a more supernatural cozy mystery.
Thank you for the ARC!

This was a fun start to a new paranormal cozy mystery series. I really enjoyed the premise of a woman who can see ghosts running a ghost tour in New Orleans, Louisiana. The characters were really likable and fun to follow. I do enjoy a paranormal cozy mystery and this was delightfully different from others I've read. I found the mystery to be clever, though I did end up guessing who the killer was.
Overall, this was fun and would be a good Halloweeny cozy mystery. I'm very much looking forward to book 2.
Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for my audio arc!

If you are going to run ghost tours in a city like New Orleans, it is convenient indeed to be able to spot ghosts! But Lou Thatcher doesn't always see it that way, because ghosts can be a demanding bunch.
Not least when one of the newest ones is your rival tour operator, who wants your help and has realised that you can see him. Because Lou didn't like Adam Brandt while he was alive and she's not too keen to spend time with him now, either!
Things get even more complicated when the murder weapon is believed to be an item from Lou's store. Because however much she may want to stay out of this case, it looks like the police detective considers her a prime suspect. The only way for Lou to change that is to prove her innocence by identifying the killer...
This is an enjoyable cosy mystery with a lot of humour.

Haunting and Homicide by Ava Burke is a delightful cozy mystery that blends supernatural elements with suspense, humor, and a touch of romance. The story follows Lou Thatcher, a ghost-seeing tour guide in New Orleans, who is no stranger to the spirit world. Her life takes a spooky turn when rival tour guide Adam Brandt is found murdered, and Lou becomes the prime suspect, thanks to her connection to the murder weapon and her public feud with Adam.
What sets this novel apart is Lou's unique ability to see and communicate with ghosts, including Adam, whose spirit is determined to help Lou clear her name. Burke’s writing style is fun and engaging, with a perfect balance of charm and intrigue. As Lou navigates a web of business dealings, relationships, and possible motives, readers are kept on their toes trying to uncover the true killer.
Fans of cozy mysteries will appreciate the rich setting of New Orleans, the quirky characters, and the humorous yet suspenseful atmosphere. Lou's interactions with both the living and the dead add a layer of warmth and wit to the investigation, making for a thoroughly enjoyable read.
Haunting and Homicide is a perfect pick for those who love their mysteries with a touch of the supernatural and a dash of Southern charm.

This book was definitely fun but a little too cliche and cheesy for me. I loved this cozy read (I listed on audio and loved the narration) and would recommend as a quick read during Halloween time! The cast of characters was super vibrant and interesting, but I couldn’t bring myself to care about our main heroine, Lou. The main miss in this book was that it a little pretty little liars coded iykyk. She kept getting herself into situations that would obviously make her suspicious then act confused when she was suspected of something. It really bothered me how after the incident with Adam (and all the other threats) she didn’t act anymore hyper vigilant. Maybe I’m just generally more overly paranoid. The mystery itself was kind of lackluster and very obvious making the reveal unsatisfying because I had been sitting here screaming “I’ve been telling you it’s him!! he’s the killer!!” For the past 3 hours. I honestly found the non-mystery elements more interesting. The puppy was obviously the best character.

I enjoyed the characters and setting of this. I liked the ghost-tour-ghost-seeing angle, and would read more books in this series.

I listened to the audiobook version of Haunting and Homicide, the first in the new cozy Ghost Tour Mystery series. Written by Ava Burke and narrated by Maria McCann, I enjoyed the audio immensely. It was easy to listen to and the characters were likable. The series centers around young twenty-something Lou Thatcher who lives with her grandmother in New Orleans. Because Lou has been able to converse with ghosts her entire life, she decided to embark on a ghost tour business, which is modestly successful. After a rival ghost tour operator is murdered, Lou investigates with the help of the recently departed. Like other cozy mysteries, this book includes several comical scenes and the requisite adorable puppy. I view this one as pure brain candy, which helps one escape from life’s mundane moments. Highly recommend to fans of cozy mysteries with an element of the supernatural.

I love everything paranormal. This gives you cozy vibes. Love a good ghost tour. It was an easy read/audiobook. New Orleans is probably the best place to have a ghostly vibe too.

This was a fun new cozy debut. I love that it’s in New Orleans & centered around ghost tours! I will definitely keep reading this series.

A fun paranormal cozy mystery with a great plot! I absolutely can't wait to read more or rather listen to more from this series! The main character is a smart, quirky, businesswoman who just happens to be able to see and talk to ghosts. She has unique and varied family and friends who help her with life, business and a bit of amateur sleuthing to keep her out of jail! Throw in an adorable puppy and younger half-brother who shows up on her doorstep in the middle of the night and you have even more complications to layer throughout the mystery. The author has woven some serious real-life issues into the story to make it more lifelike and varied thus making the story all that more enjoyable. A whodunit with meat on its bones and a bit of fun with ghosts getting involved in the daily life and sleuthing too! Set in New Orleans makes this the perfect paranormal cozy for mystery lovers who like a bit of fun in their story too! I can't wait for more!

Haunting and Homicide by Ava Burke is a fun and lightly spooky mystery set in the vibrant streets of New Orleans. Tallulah "Lou" Thatcher, with her unique ability to see the dead, brings a fresh and fascinating twist to her ghost tour business. The eerie setting, combined with Lou's wonderful circle of friends, creates an engaging atmosphere that keeps you hooked. Maria McCann’s narration adds the perfect touch, bringing the story to life with her captivating voice. (I received an advance listener copy and all opinions are my own.) An intriguing and fun read!

Haunting and Homicide was a lovely little read with a great main character. It will be interesting to see how the author develops her.

I am a huge fan of ghost tours and all things spooky, so this mystery was right up my alley. The main character Lou was so likable. It was nice to follow an amateur detective that is smart, savvy, caring, and fun. The tie in between her career, personal life, and the mystery was well-done as well. There were quite a few twists - I wouldn’t have guessed whodunnit by the end.
The narrator was great and really brought the characters and New Orleans to life.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #DreamscapeMedia for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

ghosts, mystery, new orleans, family drama? sign me up.
i devoured this. can’t wait for more.
i need to know what happens with Lou and dylan and i really hope they have a future! i need many more ghostly adventures.

This was such a fun spooky cozy mystery. 🥰 and I love the ones with the pets so cute! The storyline was interesting and the narration was great. Def recommend checking this one out.

I love catching a new series at the beginning and Haunting and Homicide is a fun read and a good introduction to Tallulah “Lou” Thatcher and her family and friends, both living and dead. Lou lives with her grandmother in New Orleans and has a business doing ghost tours which makes perfect sense since she has been able to see and talk to ghosts since she was little. When a rival ghost tour guide dies Lou is unfortunate enough to stumble across his body. But now he’s a ghost who begs her to make sure the police find out who killed him. She wants to help and she wants to clear her own name – she found the body, they were clearly not friends, and the murder weapon came from her store.
The mystery is well-written with several twists and surprises. This is Lou’s first outing as an amateur sleuth and she’s not great at it yet, but she does have some help the cops don’t. I had a guess at who the killer was, but it was just a feeling. The ghosts are handled well here, each has their own personality, back story, and abilities. Lou herself is great. She’s lively and a hard worker, she’s loyal and protective of her friends and family. She has a lot going on at home, but deals with it all well, even the parts she’s a little uncomfortable with. I’m hoping she doesn’t end up dating the cop. She’s too good for him. And New Orleans is, as always, a fabulous setting. One of these days I’ll get there.
I listened to the audio and i love the narrator’s Southern accent. She did a good job bringing the characters to life and keeping the tone light even when some difficult issues are discussed.

I absolutely adore a cozy who-done-it, and Haunting and Homicide delivered on every level! Set against the rich, atmospheric backdrop of New Orleans, the story immerses readers in the unique charm and eerie beauty of the city, particularly through the captivating ghost tours of the historic Garden District. The blend of mystery, suspense, and supernatural elements is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of intrigue to keep you turning pages.
While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I do hope that the next installment takes the opportunity to develop the characters further and explores even more of New Orleans in a way that highlights its vibrant culture and history. It would be wonderful to see more of the city’s charm, from its lively streets to its hidden gems. All in all, it was a fun, thrilling ride, and I can't wait to see where the A Ghost Tour Mystery series goes next!
I loved the audiobook, and the narrator did an excellent job!
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to the ARC foin exchange for my honest review.

I love a murder mystery, but add supernatural and you have me hooked. As soon as I saw this I wanted to read it. This is definitely a cosy mystery rather than a scary book. And it has the cutest puppy, who you can't help but love. The characters are lovely and her nan and the family she has created are wonderful.
It was an entertaining read and the ghosts were hilarious! Following Lou as she solves the murder of her rival ghost tour guide, as she stumbles through the investigation but through it discovers so much more to her own life. Narrated by Ava Burke who has the perfect voice for Lou. The narration really brought me into the world and setting. It gave the New Orleans vibes and made me want to go on a ghost tour.
I binged this book listening to it over two days. But it could easily be done in one day. Definitely a fun and easy read. Overall tha plot was a pretty standard murder mystery but throw in some ghostly communication. Although I could pick the plot twists it was still an enjoyable listen.
If you enjoy a cosy mystery with supernatural elements and a fun cast of characters you should definitely pick up this book and even better listen to the audio, to really get into the world. Will look forward to the continued series.
