So Rare is the third book in the Boys of South Chapel series. It follows Hunter, Greedy, Levi, Spence, and newcomer Sione.
So Rare starts off right where So Real ended, which was on such a cliffhanger! The book effortlessly flows
Hunter is such a strong female character over the course of the series, and even in this book, she truly is starting to heal. She also feels loved and whole with her cohort. I really just wanted to give her a hug because she has endured so much, and her growth has been amazing.
Greedy’s growth was my favorite in this book. He really found himself in this book, and it honestly makes me so happy, especially what he endured in the first two books. He is so freaking caring and protective but also a giver.
Levi is such a golden retriever, and I love it. He is also fiercely protective and such a brat! He struggled a bit in this book with the new dynamics, but eventually, he came around. Can I just say what happened between the boys at The Moon Mist motel literally had me blushing!!
Spence is a hard man, but boy is he putty when around Hunter and the other guys. He is a total caregiver and is fiercely protective. He will always put others above himself, which really makes me love him more. He also likes to be 10 steps ahead of everyone and always has a plan!
Sione is her soul match, her one and only. At first, I was not sure how I would like him, but he fits right in with the group. He is spiritual, a healer, and so sure of himself. He helps her heal in a way none of the other men would be able to.
The connection and banter between the characters was so fantastic. They each have really grown into their own, but my favorite growth was the relationship between Greedy and Levi. Also Greedy’s growth!!!!! The man really changed for the better!! I will always scream justice for Greedy, though! I love that all of the men are so different, but they come together so beautifully to form their own family with Hunter.
The casting for this book could not have been more perfect! They really brought the characters to life. I love reading my Kindle, but listening to it is a whole other ball game and literally levels up the experience. It feels more immersive. I can’t wait for So Right to come out on audio so I can listen to it!
You will enjoy this book if you like the following:
- Why Choose
- Only one bed
- Second chance
- Soul match
- THE jersey moment
- PMDD rep
- Demisexual rep
This book is not a standalone and should be read in order starting with So Wrong.
Thank you so much, Abby Millsaps and Dreamscape media for the gifted alc!

Narrators: June deBorahae, J. River Pierce, Liam Dicosimo, Keval Shah and Julio Maxwell
Style: Multi-cast dual
As always with this series, check CWs before reading/listening
I don't know what it is about the narrators that make Millsaps' story just so much *more*, but they've done it again with the next instalment of the Boys of South Chapel series.
Once more, deBorhae, Pierce, Dicosimo and Shah - along with Maxwell joining the cast as Sione - breathe absolute life and bring sheer emotion and acting ability to the characters crafted by Millsaps. I have no words to describe the pure talent that is these five narrators bringing such a beautiful polycule to life.
This is a cast who don't just lend voices to the characters they're playing; they truly act. With each emotion-laden scene deBoarhae voices as Hunter, you hear each heart-breaking emotion spill from her voice - so much so that you feel like you're there with Hunter, and you just want to comfort her in those moments. Pierce and Dicosimo bring such life to Levi and Greedy respectively, and I was living for their scenes together - again, you could feel the tension in the actors voices. Shah continues to bring that gruff, no-nonsense tone to Spencer, but you can hear the softening aspects coming through more, and Maxwell lends a beautiful voice to The One and Only (Sione), creating such a three-dimensional character; I didn't want the audiobook to end.
The casting of this book truly brings a new experience to the story, and certainly brings it to a whole new level; if I thought I was near tears reading this on my kindle, then I won't lie and say the acting didn't have the odd few slipping down my cheeks - not just in the sad moments, but the happy ones, too. It's because of the casting, the acting, that I honestly cannot wait for So Right to come out in audio format.
Thank you to the author, Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for the ALC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.

Millsaps continues to deliver with the story of Hunter and her men. With the cliffhanger the last book ended on, I was unsure as to where the story would go, and Millsaps had me on the edge of my seat for the entire read.
So Rare is filled with secrets and suspense, twists and turns as well as some beautiful romantic moments, some deliciously spicy scenes, and some great moments of found family. I loved the reintroduction of Gerald from the last book, and I loved the continued presence of Jo and her boys throughout the narrative.
Once more, my heart absolutely breaks for Hunter, and I wanted to be right there with her men, serving her mother a can of whoop-ass. Seriously, I don't think I've been this angry over a fictional character in a long time.
I loved that Greedy and Levi finally get to explore their feelings, and it was written so beautifully. Especially with the introduction of Sione, and his hand in helping Greedy make a discovery or two - that whole scene made my heart melt a little.
Now that all Hunter's men have been introduced, I truly love all of them and their uniqueness. Kabir and his Dom ways, taking the lead. Levi, the golden retriever boyfriend with a heart of gold. Greedy, the forbidden stepbrother and Hunter's first love. And Sione - aptly named The One and Only - Hunter's true soulmate.
That cliffhanger, though? Ms. Millsaps, you have some 'splainin' to do! Absolutely cannot wait for the release of So Right in the new year.

The audiobook narration was top-notch, with engaging performances that enhanced the listening experience. I devoured this book quickly, just like the previous two in the series.
However, I didn't love this installment as much as I expected. While I adore the characters and their dynamics, I feel that the series should have focused solely on Greedy, Levi, and Hunter. The addition of Spencer and Sione, although interesting characters, disrupted the original dynamic for me.
The plot developments, particularly regarding Hunter's mom, left me perplexed. The convenient memory recovery and the obliviousness of Greedy's dad felt implausible.
The ending also raised concerns, with Hunter's pregnancy introducing potential drama and complications.
Overall, while I enjoyed the audiobook experience, the story didn't quite meet my expectations.

This was interesting, though no one likes a cliffhanger, I do understand it’s needed for the series. I think this author Diana great job keeping me engaged and waiting more.

ALC Review:
I’m sorry to say this book wasn’t for me. The fmc was extremely manipulative and the dynamic between her and the guys seems forced. She established a relationship with all 4 guys separately, then leaves them and they all come crawling back. She then somehow coerces them into relationships with people they just met. They all say it’s consensual and that they love/care for each other, which is great, but it felt so shallow. The plot with Hunters mom is interesting enough, but the amnesia was bizarre and unnecessary. I read the first 2 books just prior to this arc and I’ll be leaving the series here. The narrators did a decent job, with the exception of one male reading the part of Hunter.
Thank you Dreamscape for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.

This book was everything I expected it to be and so much more. While I have read the book I also was lucky enough to get to listen to the ALC as well. The narration truly brings these characters to life and makes you feel like you are watching the story unfold in your head even clearer. This book starts off right were the last one ended and the guys wake up to find Hunter gone. While they are all trying to figure out what happened to her you see a solidarity with the men as they try and find her. This book is an emotional roller coaster, and you truly see growth in all these characters especially Hunter. We get the addition of Sione Hunters love from Italy and he truly brings a new strength, wisdom and has a great calming effect on all of them. He truly brings them all together. Once again, we see how truly awful Hunters mother is and the lengths she will go to for the things she wants truly heinous. I loved that we got a little glimpse of Joey and her men as they step in to help and support them all. Then you hit with that cliff hanger and your heart pounds and you can't wait to get your hands on the next book. I was given the ALC of this book for my honest review.

I loved this storyline so much! I was so grateful to listen to so rare again right before so right. The story of Hunter and her boys brings so much representation up and the suspense of the cliff hangers are so fun.

Book 3 of the Boys of South Chapel series picks up where the previous one left off, with Hunter missing after the strengthening of their bond. The guys will do anything to get her back, even contacting someone from her past. Spence remains steadfast as a protector for them and readily accepts any changes that come. The scene at the gas station might be my favorite in the series so far. With the recent reintroduction of Sione, the group dynamics are evolving, but they have the example of Joey and her guys to look at. It will be good to see how they all interact in the next book, along with Gerald who adds a bit of levity. I really enjoyed listening to this book because it put accents to the voices. So Rare does end on a major cliffhanger, and I hope it does not break them.

Me: I’m so done with this series, it’s so unrealistic.
Also me: what the heck was that cliffhanger?! Are you kidding me?!
I wouldn’t recommend these books to anyone off the street. However, I do think the author does a good job with the topics that are covered and the se derive nature of people learning who they are and what their preferences are.

I just finished listening to So Rare, and I have to say—it was a fantastic listen! 🎧 The narrators really brought the characters to life, though I’ll admit, there were moments when I was a bit confused about who was who.
I also didn’t realize this was part of a series, which threw me off a little when it came to following some of the details. That’s on me, though. Even with that, the story was so fun and entertaining! 😄
The book itself was excellent. The plot had so many unexpected twists that kept me on my toes, and there was so much depth—not just in the storyline but in the relationships too. And that ending? That cliffhanger completely caught me off guard! 😱
Big thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audiobook. 🙏

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audiobook for "So Rare" by Abby Millsaps.
I have listened to the previous two books as audiobooks as well so I was very excited when I saw this arc. I absolutely love the Boys of South Chapel series and it did not disappoint. The spice was superb and the story line kept me on the edge of my seat.
There was so much growth of the MC's which I loved to see.
So excited for the next instalment.

I probably would have scored it higher had I realised this was part of a series lol this book was so good and so fun to listen to and I love the relationship dynamic

😬I feel so bad saying it, but this one was not my favorite, but the audio was pretty good! I say "pretty good" for the narrator for Kabir, he was not working for me, and I didnt get the little southern accent from Levi. And Liam Dicosimo doing a female voice. No.
I love the why choose trope, but we don't need a ton of guys either. Ya know?
I gotta see how it all wraps but still very much think we could have kept this as a Levi, Greedy, Hunter story line. Or just Hunter and Greedy 🤣 I love the spice and im intrigued by the plot. I like Abbys writing too.
Loved seeing Joey and her guys. I gotta read those books again

Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audio for "So Rare" by Abby Millsaps.
I have done the previous books in this serious as audios so I was very excited to have the opportunity to listen to the newest book in the Boys of South Chapel series. As with the other books in the series there is drama and spice and of course ends on a cliffhanger! I enjoyed doing the audio and definitely suggest listening or reading this next book in the series if you have been reading this series and enjoying it!

Really good segue to So Real.
I loved how all the dynamics evolve, mainly between the boys (so hot) and how loyal they are to each other and Hunter.
I find it really easy, hot and fun, definitely a perfect read for smut, polyamory, why choose romance lovers.
The only thing I am not super sure about it´s the new addition in between the boys. Sione is definitely not someone I connect to, or that, to me, was needed at this point, and even if yes, he is a nice addition it felt a little flat to me. Even the back story was not as interesting as the one between Spence and Hunter. The only moment I really liked him and saw his potential was during his conversation with G about his sexuality and who he loves. Than was cute.
Also Levi, I wish you were my boyfrind to, and Kabir, and G.... everyone a part from Scione tbh

I read So Rare first on my kindle and loved it, having the chance to listen to it for free was a blessing. There is an added level of emotional impact that comes with listening to this story. Hunter and her boys grow so much in this book and listening to their growth is magical and breathtaking.

I really enjoyed So Rare. I listened to the audiobook narration and enjoyed the different voice actors presentation (Dual Narration). So Rare takes off right after the events of So Real (thank goodness because that cliffhanger was a doozy). I really feel like So Rare concentrated on Levi, Greedy and Spence and how their relationships were being defined. I loved hearing about how they felt and explored how they all tied together. There are some flashback chapters in So Rare, this time from Hunter's time in Italy when she met Sione. With then parallels with Sione coming to the US upon discovering that Hunter was missing. Sione fits like the missing puzzle nobody knew was missing. He enters into the cohort seamlessly. However, we haven't reached the cohort's HEA quite yet. Hunter's mother is still scheming for Hunter to do the transplant with or without consent. And Spence has some rough secret plans to work through. Can't wait for the next book!

I was given the opportunity to listen to an advanced copy of So Rare, book 3 in the Boys of South Chapel series as a member of Abby’s personal ARC team.
While I previously read the book itself listening to it a second time was fantastic! The narrator’s really bring this story to life and getting to hear the spicy scenes - highly recommend !!
I also finished the audio ahead of reading the final book in this series which helped keep everything fresh in my mind going into it. Thank you Abby for the ALC, be sure to start this series today, I highly recommend it!

I was extremely disappointed with this book. My first introduction to this author was when I received an ARC of So Wrong. I loved that book so much. The characters and their dynamic was written very well and I couldn’t wait to read more. The second book was a little underwhelming because the dynamic between Hunter, Greedy, and Levi changed when Kabir was introduced. While we got answers to what happened while Hunter was gone, Kabir’s addition just didn’t seem necessary in the present day timeline. I still really enjoyed it even though I wasn’t a Kabir fan.
Fast forward to book number 3. So Rare picks up right where So Real left us (a thrilling cliffhanger) and just took a nosedive. Remember how I didn’t like Kabir added to the mix?? Well imagine my shock when Sione arrives. Hunter is collecting these men like infinity stones. I feel like the storyline that I fell in love with in book 1 has been left so far behind. This book felt like I was reading a totally different series. I was super disappointed because I’ve followed Abby’s writing process for this whole series and the last thing I expected was to dislike a book in this series. It started off so strong, but it completely lost me with this book.
I listened to the eALC through NetGalley and I had some problems with the narration. There are so many names and nicknames between all the characters, and there were inconsistencies in pronunciation between the narrators. Not super detrimental to the plot, but it happened enough that I picked up on it. I think this series would have been great with duet narration instead of the normal narration. I am not a fan of male narrators mimicking the woman’s voice and vise versa.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me a copy of the So Rare audiobook! All opinions are my own.

This is book three in the series, and it picks up right where it left off in book two.
I listened to the audio, and it kept me invested. I think the narrators did a great job. But since it was duel narration, it was sometimes a little confusing with all the different characters and which voice belonged to who in each chapter.
But I think they did a good job.
The story was great, and it threw some twists in there several times throughout the book. I liked the addition of new characters and how we got to see the characters from Lake Chapel again.
So much happened in this book both in terms of storyline and relationship development. I really enjoyed it, and the cliffhanger at the end shocked me! Can’t wait to read the forth and final book in this series 🩷
