I was so happy to be granted early access to the final installment of the Nightshade Crown Series!!! The Nightshade God immediately picks up with Lore banished to the Burnt Isles - where she is treated poorly and tries to keep her head down and fit in. Before long she is working to find a way to outsmart and defeat the God who took everything from her and banished her - all while trying navigate her own strength (don't want to spoil too much).
All in all, a brilliant ending to such an amazingly written trilogy. I was on the edge of my chair from beginning to end and had such a hangover after reading this amazing story! Hats off to Hannah for giving us yet another brilliant masterpiece. I cannot wait to see what you do next!

This book was so good! This series has been an absolute blast to read. The story is filled with plot twist after plot twist and the romance is so addictive!

This series has had me in a chokehold from the very beginning! I'm so excited for all the new readers who will be able to binge it straight through. There are definitely some cliffhangers between books. It took me a few chapters and some internet searching to get back up to speed at the beginning of this installment. The series overall is dark. I love the unique fantasy world and inspired reflection on religion. I love how the love triangle was sorted in the most perfect way. The ending had me sobbing. This book and this series is so so good! Sorry I don't want to share more and risk any spoilers. Thanks to NetGalley and Orbit Books for this eARC!

THANK YOU ORBIT!
Screaming, crying, throwing up. This was the perfect ending. The perfect build. I cannot believe it’s over. Hannah Whitten did an absolutely amazing job at building Lore up from a nightshade runner to a true hero and I loved every minute of it.
11/10. Read them all. Buy them all!

I feel like I waited for book 3 for a while, and it gave me everything I wanted from an ending. The suspense was killing me, so I literally read it in one day (thank God, it was Easter, and I didn't have a lot of plans). The entire series was such a well crafted and exciting story. I loved all the twists and turns. I'm sad it's over. I want more. I loved every bit of this trilogy.
I read book 1 and 2 again before reading this and I'm thankful I did because it helped everything make sense as there's so many details. I think Hannah Whitten has such an amazing way with words. She creates a lot of complex images in the mind without dragging the story. gah! so good!

Thank you NetGalley for an early arc of this book.
I was so excited I got this! I havnt read the series but I’ve been wanting to for awhile and I thought mine as well now since I have an arc of the 3rd book. I feel bad not loving this series. I wanted to love it so badly. book 1 was just not for me.

This is a perfect conclusion the trilogy! Hannah Whitten really amped up the Religious Trauma™ in this one, with a brutal antagonist that honestly stressed the shite out of me. The pacing, I found was a little slow for the last in a series. There was still quite a bit of world-building, whereas I just wanted to dive into the action (which there is plenty of!).
I loved the character development, both the growth, and the others' fall from grace. We got to see a lot more of our side characters, which I greatly appreciated too!
BUT THE ENDING!! It did not end quite the way I wanted it to, but critically speaking, it is a spectacularly written finale (I am just butthurt lol). I am still a bit sour over it, but I applaud the author for how she wrapped it up!

A big thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
What an epic conclusion to this trilogy. I loved that there were more flashbacks of the Gods showing their dynamic and similarities between our beloved trio. I’m normally not a fan of love triangles, but how Hannah sets hers up is so well done and you can’t help but love them all! I absolutely loved this read and appreciate the chance to have read an ARC for it.

I am surprised to say I really enjoyed The Nightshade God. After loving The Foxglove King and then being disappointed with The Hemlock Queen, I was pretty leery going into this finale of this series.
This started out fairly slow and after the second book I did struggle to get into it. I felt that it picked up and by 40ish percent I was interested to see what each character was up to. I loved getting the POVs of different characters, especially Alie.
I won’t speak much on the romance to avoid spoilers but I was satisfied with the direction it went. The ending was bittersweet but also pretty satisfying and the epilogue was lovely.
Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

The Nightshade God is a wonderful wrap up to the Nightshade Crown series. It’s rare that a trilogy continues to be strong all the way until the end, and this third book was fantastic!
Thank you NetGalley and to the publishers for this ARC! Publishing July 15th, 2025!

I have been waiting for this book for over a year! I have read all the ARC's of this trilogy and this story was just so intricate. There was a slew of emotions that left me feeling sated for the characters but also hungry for more of this world. You can tell Whitten has grown so much as a writer through this story. I could feel the connection of what is happening in todays world, creating parts of the story in the Nightshade God. I have always felt a deep love for Lore but I really felt like Gabe shined in this story. After all, it was finally the time for him to admit his repressed emotions and feelings about love, religion, and the world. He became the person I had always hoped for in the series and just completed the love triangle. And what I love most about this story is there was no they have to pick one. It was three people who had different relationships with each other and stood on their own in different parts of the plot.
Bastian. He was half the time floating in his head and somehow Whitten made connections you would have never realized till you get to the end of the book. Everyone is saying Lore is the middle but lets be real Bastian brings out the best in Lore AND Gabe. And finally we get the romances that we have been pining for since book one! No spoilers but I think they were well worth the wait without taking away from the main plot. The book started out slow and maybe it was just trying to get back into the story after being our of it for so long. But as we inch closer to the fountain pieces each of the characters POVs and part become clear and concise.
I can't wait to read more from Whitten. Her stories have a hint of bittersweet while also giving that gothic era. This story proves she will continue to grow as an author and stay on the top shelf of my auto buy authors. Thank you for the chance to read the end to this epic journey.

Awesome conclusion to the series! I love that the 3 of them eventually got their HEA, although I’m not much for love triangles

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. (via Netgalley)
It started out a little slow for me but it really picked up in the second half. I loved seeing the various POVs. I am not 100% sure what I wanted going into this for an ending but I think the one that happened was a good one. And the epilogue! The only thing I do wish was this had more of Lore, Gabe, and Bastian but overall, solid end to the series.

This is the final book in the Nightshade Crown series and boy did Hannah Whitten save the best for last!!! This whole story, but specifically this book tugged at my heartstrings and would not let go. Whitten is a phenomenal storyteller, and my emotions are proof of that! This book had a looming sense of doom the entire time I was reading it. With that said, however, Whitten balances dark, gothic atmosphere with feelings of hope and resilience! The characters are so enmeshed in my brain that I haven't been able to stop thinking of them. Also, the world building is top notch, and it wasn't forced or dumped onto the reader. The only complaint I have is you may run out of tissues.

What a way to end a trilogy!!
The Nightshade God picks up right where The Hemlock Queen left off. Bastian is possessed, Lore is banished and Gabe is in hiding. The story follows multiple POVs so the story does jump around a bit. I had hoped the trio would reunite much sooner - it felt like there were three distinct stories being told as opposed to one until they came together near the end. And the ending? oof. Who knew it could hurt so much but also be so satisfying? The absolute heartbreak and yearning that I experienced was everything.
Thank you Orbit Books and Hannah Whitten for the advanced review copy.

So here's the thing...
I read the first 2 books over a year ago and really liked them. The things is that I borrowed them and don't own them so I didn't get a chance to reread them before starting Nightshade God. I probably could have waited to read this till I reread them but I thought it would all come back to me as I read. It didn't. Because of that, I had a hard time remembering who people were and specifics on what happened in the previous books.
Obviously, this is a me problem and not the books problem. The writing was as good as ever and I loved that the romance in this one was an actual triangle.
If I were to be nitpicky on something, it was that the story jumped around a bit much for me. Which was inevitable when you're trying to tell a story that was happening in 3 different places to 4 different people. It just made it a bit jumbled.
I did really like the ending though.
Overall I liked the triology and will probably read it all in one go soon.

The three books just didn’t feel consistent throughout if that makes sense, like the plot wasn’t planned ahead of time. I don’t think I would read again or recommend it, but I appreciate the advance copy.

Whitten has written another hit and I'm honored to have received this ARC, as this was my most anticipated series installment of 2025.
I actually finished this book within 24 hours of receiving the eARC but needed time to collect my thoughts. I absolutely adore this series and the final installment wrapped up Lore, Gabe, and Bastian's story in such an unexpected way. It was beautiful and heart-wrenching, although I found the ending unsatisfactory - purely because of my love of Lore. **SPOILERS** I was heartbroken to not see the trio get to enjoy the happiness they deserved together. Lore choosing to spend 500 years alone, watching everyone she's loved grow older and pass away, becoming the lonely woman on the mountain.... Gods, she deserved more than that. I wish there had been additional epilogue about after they had reunited, even just a paragraph about them spending their lives together. That's the romantic in me though.

Thank you so much to Orbit books for this Arc. And thank you to Hannah Whitten for listing the trigger warnings ahead of the first chapter. You’re so real for that.
This book is a masterpiece, I laughed, I cried. I boo-hoo cried and then I cheered right before the world ended. I will be honest, I had no idea how Whitten was going to wrap this series up, but it was done brilliantly. I will say no more because; spoilers.
All of my religious trauma was brought to the forefront, then soothed, then cranked all the way up and then settled. 5 stars. Apologies for the rambling review, I feel like I’ve had a god (or four) in my head.

How is this the ending?!?! I need this series to continue. What an amazing conclusion to this perfect trilogy
