Thank you NetGalley for this Audiobook ARC.

I have read this whole series and this was the final conclusion.

After selling his soul and waiting over 20 years to get his revenge - the moment has finally arrived for Talon.

While still keeping secrets from Calista and Khazmuda, Talon must face this enemy and knowing his death is near.

This had a lot of twists and turns , I was on the edge of my seat but happy that Calista and Talon got their happy ending.

I’ll be honest... these books just don’t hit the mark for me. They’re kind of like the literary equivalent of junk food—easy to consume, but ultimately unsatisfying. You pick them up, read through them, and while it’s not painful, you don’t really get anything meaningful out of it. It’s the kind of reading where you’re left feeling like you’ve just spent time and energy for something that doesn’t quite add value.

I genuinely dislike writing negative reviews, and I’ve kept going with this series because, well, there must be something in them that’s keeping me hooked, right? Maybe it’s the hope that it’ll improve, or that I’m missing something deeper. But, after finishing this book, I can’t lie to either you or myself—the story just isn’t that great. The characters feel flat, the plot lacks depth, and the emotional payoff is pretty minimal. It’s one of those books that you finish and immediately forget, with very little impact lingering after.

I’m sure some readers might enjoy these books for their lightness or easy pacing, but for me, they don’t offer enough substance to justify the time spent. I’m sure others will have a different experience, but as for me, I’ll be passing on the next one.

This was actually the only book in the series I have read I didn’t realize it was a series at first I just thought the description sounded cool! Despite that I actually really enjoyed this book! I thought the writing was really well done and I followed the plot pretty well without the background of the other books. I really enjoyed the characters and their relationships with each other and the dragons! I liked how quickly I was attached to them and their stories. I thought the plot was really exciting honestly and I will definitely check out the rest of the series after this! My only complaint was the audiobook narrators weren’t my favorite and the way they roared was a lot haha. But overall really good read, and i can tell the editing was well done! Especially from someone who came into this with no prior knowledge of the series!

I did not love this one. It had a few good moments, I won’t spoil anything, but overall I did not enjoy how dragged out everything felt. This felt longer than it needed to be and I was left feeling very underwhelmed. I am super appreciative for being able to listen through NetGalley!

The finale of the Death series. I was blessed to get all of these books as advanced reader copies. The first book is still my favorite, and the middle two dragged for me a bit, but this finale was what I had been waiting for.

Great war scenes, loss, tragedy, all of the emotions and final character growth. I am glad that I gave this series a chance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape media for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Release date 1/7/25!

Thank you NetGalley for the audiobook, the narrator did an amazing job bringing the story to life. I have throughly enjoyed this series, and this author.

The story line of this book had a lot of potential, but there are lot of plot holes that made the audiobook hard to follow.

Calista’s character is flat and sort of written in a way that can be annoying.
Talon is somewhat written the same way, he was a little more rounded but he was still hard to listen too. I think he was overly depressed and that ruined his character.

This name of the book seems like it should be more about Calista and that is not the case.

The dragons are the best part of the book.

Favorite quote of the book “Why is your heart bleeding on the inside”

Holy crap that was intense!! Just when you think Penelope Barsetti cannot take Calista and Talon's love story to another level- think again - this story ending was epic. From the first few chapters to the very last one the listener is taken on not only and emotional journey but one that pushes the envelope to what you think is actually going to happen and fills it with things you never saw coming. Five stars are not enough!!

This is the conclusion to the main story. I thought it was wrapped up perfectly.

I listened to this book through NetGalley.

This book was much more balanced than the rest of the books. I enjoyed this book the best. There is conflict and then resolution to that conflict. There are really nice descriptive battle scenes. Dragons, dragons, dragons, and more dragons. The spice scenes were well balanced. There is a lot of closure, healing and grief in this book.

I do like how the author wrapped up the final revenge. I also thought the little twist with the choice the male main character has to make was well written.
Overall, I really enjoyed the series and I thought this book was the best one out of all of them.

The epilogue was exactly what I needed!

I will stick by this opinion based off of the narrators that I have since the beginning. I enjoy the female narrator more than the male narrator. I do think he does a great job. I just don’t picture him as the male main character and that’s just my opinion. The Female narrator does a very good job. I love the emotion she puts in her voice and she also does a great job portraying the male’s voice parts in her chapters

I love how this series ties up. WOW. This about how hot this shadow daddy has to be for her to go into the underworld for him after he kills her father and she ends up enslaved working to find treasures for him.
I mean wow red flags galore.
The narrators are fantastic.

A good conclusion to a series. The narrators were super talented the emotion was captured perfectly in their tones. The story overall was a little drawn out and I believe could have been concluded more succinctly. Also I did not enjoy Calistas POV it was tiring.
