The perfect coffee table book for F1 fans (or motorsports in general)! While basic track info is easy to find, this book explores the building and evolution of circuits around the world. This covers modern fixtures like Suzuka International Race Course and old classics à la Circuit de Monaco. Filled with stats, fun facts and beautiful pictures, this incredibly well researched book is worth a read!

I enjoyed flipping through the book. As a fan of Formula One it was great to see the various tracks that have been used or still in use by F1. I was hoping that the digital copy would allow for me to zoom in to read the text better as well as get a clearer image of the pictures. Despite all that it was a well put together book and something I would enjoy owning. Thank you for providing the arc of this book.

This book is very informative and all Formula 1 fans whether they are new to the sport or seasoned followers will enjoy.
This is the perfect gift for Formula 1 fans and reads well to pass the time during off season!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me access to Formula One The Circuits: Then and Now.

As a girl who has fallen in love with the sport, everything I can sink my teeth into is helpful for me. Thigh book was chock full of information. My only hang up is that I was reading it on my phone was wasn’t very helpful. If I can get my hands on a physical copy, I will probably find this more enjoyable. Nevertheless, informative, and if you’re into F1, such a fun book.

Thank you Ivy Press and NetGalley for the eARC of Formula One The Circuits: Then and Now! All opinions in this review are my own.
I love this series and I can't wait to own a physical copy of this one! I like how each book focuses on a specific aspect of F1 and this one about the circuits did not disappoint! I like how the author explains not only the history of the tracks but also provides an explanation for why some of them aren't used anymore for F1.
If you are an F1 fan, you need to check out this series!

As someone relatively new to Formula One, learning about the history of the different circuits was really cool! I was introduced to F1 via Drive to Survive almost two years ago and haven't learned much of the history besides what was discussed in DTS.
It was fascinating to see how much some of the circuits have changed over the years.
I look forward to having a physical copy that can be out on my coffee table, I think it will be a fun conversation piece with guests.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Ivy Press for this advanced digital copy in exchange for my own thoughts and views.

Thank you Netgally for providing this book earlier to me in exchange for an honest review.
As a big, albeit new, fan of anything F1 I was excited to stumble upon this book in my never-ending quest for more info about the sport.
While it is quite easy to find information about the different F1 tracks, the book gives a ton of extra information and insight into how they were built, what changed over the last few decades, and what challenges the track and those racing on it have faced over the years. I especially enjoyed the tidbits of "nice to know" info about the fasted lap times and the number of turns there are. The photos provided also helped a lot seeing how everything has changed over time and overall I had a great time reading!
Definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in F1 and wants to know a bit more about the sport than what we can see on TV.

As a big F1 fan I've loved leafing through this book, learning more about the history of F1 and in particular the history of the circuits. Being quite young, I didn't know some of the circuits so I learned a lot. If this book is, one day, translated into French I would without hesitation offer it to my father who introduced me to this exciting motorsport. The only small ""negative"" aspect that I found is that during the presentation of the circuits we are given the date of creation, the date of the first race on this circuit and when the circuit is no longer used currently, the date from the last race. However, the date of the last race is missing on some of the circuits which are no longer used today.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Ivy Press for this ARC e-copy of Formula One The Circuits: Then & Now by Frank Hopkinson.
This well-researched coffee table book, full of rare and vivid photographs, informative maps and graphics, and impeccable organization, is the perfect gift for Formula 1 and motorsport fans worldwide. Featuring not only current tracks, but also historic circuits no longer in use in Formula 1, each “chapter” includes a brief history of the circuit, notable races hosted there and the notable drivers who competed in them, fastest lap times, and a fun fact for each course. There is a very long section on Monaco, as is fitting for an iconic street circuit that has endured the longevity of Formula 1 as a sport itself.
This book is absolutely essential for those looking to gain a more comprehensive knowledge about each of the individual tracks that make up an F1 season.
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ - GREAT

Every F1 fan needs this book. Hopkinson was able to pack the best trivia, photos, diagrams, and information about the F1 racetracks and drivers throughout the history of the sport. This is a go-to reference for any fan who wants to learn about the good, the bad, and the ugly about each of the tracks that have hosted an F1 event. This book should be on every F1 enthusiasts coffee table to grab before each F1 Sunday to learn about the history of the track prior to Lights Out.

Thanks to Quarto and Netgalley for the advanced copy to review.
As a long time F1 fan I am always on the lookout for F1 books that blend both the history of the sport and the present. They focus on circuits here really shows you how much the sport has changed over the years but also how much has stayed the same circuit wise. The photographs included throughout really do show you the changes that have taken place whilst also spotlighting the historic nature of some of these tracks and the work that has gone in to preserving them.
A great coffee table book for an avid F1 fan.

As a long time fan of Formula 1 and a mom to a son who is a true enthusiast I greatly enjoyed this book. Some of the tracks I was not familiar with others I have seen often. My son and I went through the book together and we both especially loved the pictures of the track configuration. Many of the sections generated much conversation and even additional searches on youtube so that we could see what driving on the circuits would be like. I did spend a great deal of time on the chapter about the circuit where Senna lost his life. I did not realize that there had been other accidents and 1 other fatality that weekend.
If you are a fan of Formula 1 you will definitely enjoy this look at the many different circuits. I absolutely would purchase this book for some of the many Formula 1 fans in my family.

Formula One The Circuits: Then & Now gives a great overview on F1 tracks past and present. It is rather text dense, but also has a lot of images, including track lay out. It explains why tracks no longer in use ended up that way, some being logistical, while others were tragic. It was interesting to also get perspective on how cars and racing have changed over the years. I imagine this would be a great coffee table book for the F1 fans in your life.
Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group - Ivy Press and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.

This was such a neat book to stumble upon and one I'd love to add to my collection. The story telling was well written and the photographs chosen were really neat. I'm excited to flip through this with my sons when we watch races this season! Perfect for any F1 fan, motor racing fan, or history fan.

I’m a newer F1 fan so when I saw this book, it caught my attention and interest immediately! I loved looking through the photos and learning about the history of the different circuits across the world. I would definitely purchase a copy of this for the racing and history lovers in my life!
Thank you to Quarto Pub, Frank, and NetGalley for the advance digital copy.

Amazing look back into the rich history of F1 circuits. Maybe more suitable for older fans or history buffs, rather than the younger crowd who might have discovered F1 more recently. Pictures are beautiful, and the text is very insightful.

**Formula One: The Circuits Then & Now** takes you on a fascinating ride through the evolution of iconic Grand Prix tracks. By pairing vintage and modern images, it shows how F1 has grown from the high-risk, no-frills races of the 1950s to today’s sophisticated, safety-focused sport.
You’ll revisit legendary tracks like Monaco, where straw bales once guarded the harbor, and Monza, with its deadly concrete banking now replaced by safer chicanes. The book dives into historic circuits like the Nürburgring’s "Green Hell" and Pescara’s winding hill roads while also covering American favorites like Long Beach and Watkins Glen.
This is a must-read for fans who love F1’s history and want to see how far the sport has come over the decades.
