This was such a unique way to tell the story! The book was split up into three parts with each part being told from the point of view of a different character.

I loved how Callie tried to stay impartial throughout the case and do her job well.

Orion was such a mystery and left the reader guessing as to who he was and how he was involved.

It's hard to say too much with these books without giving spoilers, but this was a great story that takes the reader on a great adventure!

Thanks to netgalley and Barbour Publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

4.5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this story set in the old West! Captivating and inspirational, with a mystery that keeps you turning pages, and an old west courtroom drama to boot!

Themes of orphans separated at a young age who never stop looking for their siblings, traveling shows, Pinkerton agents, and a murder mystery that frames one of the siblings. I could not put it down.

For lovers of stories set in the old west, you need to read Love and Order!

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

I have never read Jennifer Uhlarik before, but I was happy to receive a copy of Love and Order from NetGalley! I love the cover and the teaser sounded interesting.

However, I just couldn't get into the story. I didn't connect with any of the characters and only finished it to write a review. I have seen other people's glowing reviews and five stars, but I didn't enjoy it. Maybe it's just me.

This is a very exciting story that keeps the reader on their toes. It is separated into 3 parts which makes it easy to follow the story line even with a lot of characters. There is plenty of action going on throughout the book. I was surprised by the ending of the trial that takes place. Loved the characters and their motivations are very realistic. I recommend adding this one to your reading list.

Adventure, mystery and romance are tied up together in this enjoyable collection. Three stories by one author featuring siblings who are reunited after a fifteen year separation from an Orphan Train. Each story adds to the previous one creating one cohesive tale.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down at the end when the life of the brother is on the line. The tension grew as the mystery unraveled, and the siblings came together with help from friends to vindicate him.
The history woven into the story was interesting, and the notes at the end showed how well the author did her research. I liked how she put their different backstories together and used it to create a unique plot.
A fun read, perfect for any reader who enjoys a western adventure with clean romance and inspiration   4.5 stars

Pinkerton detectives, bounty hunters, wild west, serial killer, females in nontraditional roles, faith, and romance - what more can you ask for? Love and Order by Jennifer Uhlarik has wonderful characters, page-turning action, and unexpected plot twists. A new to me author which I will eagerly read again.

This is an excellent read! I want to thank Barbour books, the editor who asked if the author, Jennifer Uhlarik, still had the manuscript and NetGalley for my advanced reader's copy. This is my own unsolicited opinion.
Callie aka Kezia Jarrett has an undercover assignment for the Pinkerton Agency in 1873. She has joined forces with Joe Trenamen aka Stephen Nesbitt in the search for the person who has killed several women. Each woman has been found in similar crime scenes.
There are three sections in the book. Each section focuses on one of three female characters. Callie, Lucinda and Andi. There are quite a few important characters in the book and there is a lot going on. The story is very well researched and plotted with twists and turns. Background of three orphaned adults is nicely woven into the story.
Any reader who has an interest in the other side of orphan train stories with the children grown, murder mysteries and a bit of romance may enjoy this book. Throw in strong females who work in 'unorthodox" jobs during the 1870's for extra tension. I found that the female crime scene investigator sketching pictures of the area and evidence to be quite fascinating.
I want this to be a series so we can see more of the characters. It's a 5 star for me.

I absolutely loved this book and the order it was in. :) pun intended. I enjoyed this book so much I let my 15 year old read it too! This is a 3 part book and reading them all together was a treat. I enjoyed this immensely and the mystery was a mystery. With twists and turns and ups and downs. Boy it was hard to put this book down! 2 Thumbs Up! (Or 4 thumbs including my daughters)

Three siblings separated in early childhood have never given up hope of finding each other. They find a lot more. A series of murders bring Pinkerton agent Callie onto the scene, where she recognizes a bounty hunter. Evidence keeps pointing to a particular person, but could it be that easy? You’ll never guess whodunit.

A very different Orphan Train story. The story begins after they are all grown, but haven't seen or heard from one another for fifteen years.

Sad, with this read, we find out about these children's lives, and how they all end up in Cambria Springs, Colorado 1873.

As I was meeting the characters, I felt like I was in a western, and probably with the way the law worked at this time, it was.

The siblings are Rion, Andi, and Callie, a bounty hunter, an attorney and a Pinkerton agent, all somehow involved in justice.

We are given many murders, a missing women, jail break, some sweet romance, and meeting the lost siblings then along with those that consider them family. There is a lot of action that takes place in this story, including in the court room, and then out in town and wilderness.

Be sure to read the epilogue, which I loved!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Barbour, and was not required to give a positive review.

Excellent mix of genres. Is it a mystery, romance novel, western, police procedural, or historical fiction? The answer is “Yes!”, and each genre is handled expertly. A serial murderer is being chased by a Pinkerton agent who was orphaned years ago, yet continues to search for her siblings, The interaction and development of the characters is strength.

This was an awesome book! This is the story of three siblings who were put on an Orphan Train and adopted by three different families. They have all been searching for each other for the past 15 years. Unbeknownst to each other all have gravitated to a career in the justice system, detective, bounty hunter, and attorney, all three of these professions propelled the story forward. Rion, Andi, and Callie find their way back to each other and their future partners in life. I enjoyed the way the author told each story separately but pieced each story together for one awesome adventure. I have not read any of Jennifer Uhlarik's stories before but look forward to adding her name to my authors I want to read list. Reader beware: once you start this story you will not wan to put it down.

Thanks to NetGalley for a Reader's ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Who doesn't want family, love and justice?! Most everyone does.

Wonderful interconnected collection with some romance, some mystery, and some heartfelt reunions. There were plenty of twists to keep the story flowing without sacrificing the other threads that were being woven.

Part 1 introduces the first of three siblings who had been separated by an orphan train. Calliope, along with her Pinkerton partner, is looking for a murderer, one who has murdered seven times already and may be on the hunt for their next victim already. Their case is only complicated by her discovery of one of her long-lost siblings and his possible connection to the murders.

Part 2 follows the brother Orion as he is determined to prove he is innocent of what he has been accused of while trying to keep the aspiring reporter dogging his steps alive. Of course, there are plenty of obstacles in his way, the least of which being his sprouting feelings for that reporter.

Part 3 wraps up the collection with the appearance of the final sibling Andromeda and her determination to stand toe-to-toe with the lawyer prosecuting her brother's case. This also brings to light all the little pieces that have been scattered through the stories to show who the culprit is.

Definitely loved these stories and the characters. I would be up for reading more books with them playing supporting roles to others met during the journey. Well worth the time to read.

A few pages in, I thought I was in a scene from a law and order episode, but instead was transported to a time where good old-fashioned investigations relied on hunches, minut clues and tenacity.

In the case of this story, based in Cambria Springs, Colorado 1873, three stories intertwine when a Pinkerton, bounty hunter and attorney cross paths in a race to discover the truth.

Not only did I enjoy getting to know each of the characters and their love interests, but this story was skillfully told from the perspective of each individual all while being incredibly cohesive.

I strongly recommend this book for those mystery enthusiasts who enjoy a clean, historical read. 5 out of 5 stars!

What a Ride! 🐎
Calliope, Andromeda, and Orion Braddock and their respective love interests made for such an interesting novel. Being comprised of novellas, switching points of view were very enjoyable I found. However, Calliope's & Joe's story was a bit rushed.
Despite that, the book held my interest. There is palpable evil and darkness, but a strong faith throughout. This tale is Western in every sense.
QUOTABLE:
“Hear ye! Hear ye! Court’s in session. All you mulligrubs in the back of the courtroom keep your traps shut and give these fellers up front a chance to talk.”
I've never read Jennifer Uhlarik's work before, but based on this I'm interested in reading more.

Love and Order by Jennifer Uhlarik is an exciting adventure novel set in the wild west.

Callie Braddock is a Pinkerton agent sent to cover the murders of seven women. She is also searching for her siblings that were separated 15 years ago on the orphan train. Joe Trenamen is her partner, working undercover to find who the serial killer is.

As they make progress in their investigation, the crimes all point to a surprising suspect.

The story is one of trust, family, a little bit of romance and dependence on God. A clean read that holds your interest.
